Briana earned her dental hygiene degree from Portland Community College and her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Oregon Institute of Technology. The best part of her job is being able to provide her patients with the highest quality of dental care, coupled with education and encouragement in a comfortable environment. She enjoys helping patients find their healthiest smile.
Tamie is a native Oregonian who began working in the dental field in high school. She loves getting to know her patients and seeing happy smiles. She works with a wonderful team, including Dr. Tran, and believes that their caring treatment of their patients is proof.
In addition to the dental field, Tamie loves spending time with her three grown children, her husband, and her Goldendoodle, Bentley. She also enjoys camping in their RV, traveling, music and curling up with a good book.
Dr. Tran considers himself a native Oregonian, coming from Vietnam when he was just 4 years old. After graduating from Sunset High School, he moved to Corvallis Oregon to attend Oregon State University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He continued his studies at OHSU School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). Dr. Tran practiced general dentistry for many years until he decided to further his education, specializing in Periodontics. He continued advancing his skills through intensive surgical, periodontal, and implant training with top professionals in the field.
Dr. Tran enjoys attending and speaking at study groups around the Portland area. His desire to give meaningful information and care extends not only to those who practice dentistry, but also to those who seek his service. Dr. Tran has a genuine love for his work and is committed to providing quality care while making each patient feels part of the family at Beaverton Periodontics.
Dr. Tran and his wife Melodee have three children, two girls and a boy. Their eldest daughter is currently pursuing a career in nursing, their middle daughter is working at earning her undergrad degree, majoring in business and their youngest son is finishing high school with plans to follow in his fathers footsteps. The entire family shares a love for road trips that often lead to visiting friends and family in Canada and to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!
Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in the Portland area and her journey into dentistry began at Pacific Lutheran University where she played soccer and tennis and also met her husband, Tuan. After graduating cum laude with two degrees, she went on to attend Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) where she received her four-year Army Health Professional Scholarship. During her active-duty assignment in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she discovered her interest in dental surgery while participating in a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency.
Dr. Nguyen continued to strengthen her dental expertise during the next three years as one of the only general dentists in a large specialty clinic. After serving in the military and exploring Europe with her husband and dogs, Dr. Nguyen returned to OHSU for a three year periodontal residency in 2008.
She is now a board-certified periodontist, and is the recent president of the Oregon Society of Periodontics. Since completing her residency, she has developed a passion for nutrition and has a blog called nutritionfororalhealth.com. She is committed to providing individualized treatments with a caring touch in the greater Portland area and looks forward to many years of serving patients with skillful and compassionate care. When not at the office she enjoys playing sports and being outdoors in the company of her husband, three young children, three dogs, and a number of chickens.
Dr. Lowen grew up locally in Damascus, Oregon. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She went on to attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated with honors. She completed her residency training in periodontics with a masters degree from the University of Washington. During her residency she focused on advanced periodontal surgical techniques, implant dentistry, microsurgery and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Lowen returned home to Portland after her residency and practiced periodontics in the Portland metropolitan area for nearly 10 years before joining the team at Beaverton Periodontics. She spent the last 7 years working at Kaiser Permanente where she focused on complex multi-disciplinary cases and implant dentistry. She enjoys attending and speaking at study groups and staying on top of new advances in the field. She strives to provide the highest quality care in a relaxing and comfortable environment. She enjoys working with kids and adults and takes into consideration the person as a whole while focusing on oral health.
Dr. Lowen and her husband Chris met in Sydney, Australia during college. They have two young daughters, Reese & Rorie. They enjoy spending time outdoors in the Pacific NW (snow skiing, biking, and swimming are family favorites) and traveling to Australia to visit family and friends.
