Briana earned her dental hygiene degree from Portland Community College and her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Oregon Institute of Technology. The best part of her job is being able to provide her patients with the highest quality of dental care, coupled with education and encouragement in a comfortable environment. She enjoys helping patients find their healthiest smile.
Tamie is a native Oregonian who began working in the dental field in high school. She loves getting to know her patients and seeing happy smiles. She works with a wonderful team, including Dr. Tran, and believes that their caring treatment of their patients is proof.
In addition to the dental field, Tamie loves spending time with her three grown children, her husband, and her Goldendoodle, Bentley. She also enjoys camping in their RV, traveling, music and curling up with a good book.
Dr. Tran considers himself a native Oregonian, coming from Vietnam when he was just 4 years old. After graduating from Sunset High School, he moved to Corvallis Oregon to attend Oregon State University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He continued his studies at OHSU School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). Dr. Tran practiced general dentistry for many years until he decided to further his education, specializing in Periodontics. He continued advancing his skills through intensive surgical, periodontal, and implant training with top professionals in the field.
Dr. Tran enjoys attending and speaking at study groups around the Portland area. His desire to give meaningful information and care extends not only to those who practice dentistry, but also to those who seek his service. Dr. Tran has a genuine love for his work and is committed to providing quality care while making each patient feels part of the family at Beaverton Periodontics.
Dr. Tran and his wife Melodee have three children, two girls and a boy. Their eldest daughter is currently pursuing a career in nursing, their middle daughter is working at earning her undergrad degree, majoring in business and their youngest son is finishing high school with plans to follow in his fathers footsteps. The entire family shares a love for road trips that often lead to visiting friends and family in Canada and to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!
Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in the Portland area and her journey into dentistry began at Pacific Lutheran University where she played soccer and tennis and also met her husband, Tuan. After graduating cum laude with two degrees, she went on to attend Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) where she received her four-year Army Health Professional Scholarship. During her active-duty assignment in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she discovered her interest in dental surgery while participating in a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency.
Dr. Nguyen continued to strengthen her dental expertise during the next three years as one of the only general dentists in a large specialty clinic. After serving in the military and exploring Europe with her husband and dogs, Dr. Nguyen returned to OHSU for a three year periodontal residency in 2008.
She is now a board-certified periodontist, and is the recent president of the Oregon Society of Periodontics. Since completing her residency, she has developed a passion for nutrition and has a blog called nutritionfororalhealth.com. She is committed to providing individualized treatments with a caring touch in the greater Portland area and looks forward to many years of serving patients with skillful and compassionate care. When not at the office she enjoys playing sports and being outdoors in the company of her husband, three young children, three dogs, and a number of chickens.
Dr. Lowen grew up locally in Damascus, Oregon. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She went on to attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated with honors. She completed her residency training in periodontics with a masters degree from the University of Washington. During her residency she focused on advanced periodontal surgical techniques, implant dentistry, microsurgery and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Lowen returned home to Portland after her residency and practiced periodontics in the Portland metropolitan area for nearly 10 years before joining the team at Beaverton Periodontics. She spent the last 7 years working at Kaiser Permanente where she focused on complex multi-disciplinary cases and implant dentistry. She enjoys attending and speaking at study groups and staying on top of new advances in the field. She strives to provide the highest quality care in a relaxing and comfortable environment. She enjoys working with kids and adults and takes into consideration the person as a whole while focusing on oral health.
Dr. Lowen and her husband Chris met in Sydney, Australia during college. They have two young daughters, Reese & Rorie. They enjoy spending time outdoors in the Pacific NW (snow skiing, biking, and swimming are family favorites) and traveling to Australia to visit family and friends.

This was my first experience with Beaverton Periodontics. I was highly impressed with Dr Lowen and her staff. Every step of the proposed work and associated costs was explained in detail and alternatives discussed. Highly recommended.

My visit for gum surgery was so amazing! Let me first say, Dr. Tran is without a doubt the most knowledgable, and passionate, and caring doctor, concerning his craft, that I've ever experienced...and it gave me such a peace and confidence. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Tran and his team, I got a gum reduction and a frenectomy which both went super smoothly and left me with a new beautiful smile. Dr. Tran and his team are so amazing and caring making sure I was comfortable during the whole process and made sure I enjoyed my final results (which I 100% do) as well as they made me feel welcome every time I visited the office. Can't thank them enough! 5/5

It was amazing. Dr. Tran explains everything very thoroughly. I learned a lot about, my mouth, the upcoming procedure and how bone heals. Even learned a new way to brush my teeth to rid plaque. Dr. Tran makes you feel comfortable and it is clear he genuinely cares about his patients. Without hesitation I recommend him to anyone who needs dental work, beyond what a regular dentist provides. His staff too are friendly and kind.

Due to a life changing injury and a very long recovery, my teeth did not get priority care for some time. Periodontal disease set in. Beaverton Periodontics has been my hero in the process of getting back healthier gums and teeth. Every visit has been full of kindness and gentleness. While in treatment every step is explained, and home care directions made clear. All costs are also well explained with no surprise or forgotten charges. A well oiled machine through and through from office to treatment chair. I'm not quite done with my personal plan of care just yet with this lovely group of professionals, but I can honestly say it'll be a bitter sweet goodbye when moving on without them. Beaverton Periodontics is absolutely the place to go for your perio needs! Follow up review! Happy to say the work we did has given me back a healthy smile. Yay! Thanks again Beaverton Periodontics!

Everyone from the receptionist to Dr. Louwen herself we're so kind and professional. No one looks forward to a dental visit but the staff in this office made my appointment as comfortable as possible. I appreciated the effort to educate and to provide treatment options. Yesterday, as per usual my blood pressure rose in anticipation of another "Bad News Bears" dental inspection. Fortunately, while the news was automatically bad, my reaction was far less dramatic. Dr. Tran and his staff always exude calm and confidence which helps alleviate some of my abject fear and worry. There's nothing they can do to reverse years of ineffective or inadequate dental care, but I'm so happy that they have created a positive, affordable plan for restoring my smile potential. Dr. Tran is amazing! I will be honest, when I first came here, I wanted a quote for a Gingivectomy (cosmetic gum surgery). It was pricey and I did "shop" around, but every other Periodontal Office I went to, could NOT compete. I felt like another number and the feeling of 'trust' wasn't there. When you walk into Beaverton Periodentics, you have a sense of warmth and understanding. I'm so happy I made my decision to go with Dr.Tran!! I'm extremely confident now when I smile. Plus, his assistants make you feel like you've been besties forever. Trust me, the extra $$$ is worth it knowing that you'll be receiving the best care service and top-notch surgery. Very clean ,frendly , time efficient, educational, and preventative. I've never had a bad experience with any part of this office or staff . They are a very well intune team that warmly takes the best care of you.
