Zan Beaver, DMD, has been dedicated to providing families in the Jacksonville community with quality dental care for a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles since 1999! He places great emphasis on being a gentle, patient, caring dentist who treats his patients, not just their teeth.
Dr. Beaver graduated with a degree in psychology with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He is committed to lifelong learning in the dental field and has completed postgraduate training at the esteemed Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies. Advanced training in cosmetic, implant, and sedation dentistry, as well as the treatment of snoring, sleep apnea, and TMJ disorders, allows Dr. Beaver to work with you on a wide variety of dental concerns, forming a partnership in achieving your optimum oral health.
In addition to practicing dentistry, outside of the office, Dr. Beaver enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their two children, Abby and Ashton. In his free time, his hobbies include camping, reading, and playing guitar.

Normal flow of saliva provides lubrication for swallowing and begins the process of digestion while you chew. Saliva also protects your teeth by neutralizing and washing away acids, sugars, and other particles left behind after eating. From time to time, we all experience some amount of dry mouth. Hot weather, exercise, and dehydration can all cause a temporary decrease in saliva production. However, if you have chronic dry mouth, or xerostomia, you could be at risk of serious oral health complications.
The most common cause of chronic dry mouth is medication. More than 400 over-the-counter and prescription medications include dry mouth as a frequent side effect. Dry mouth is also associated with stress, autoimmune and other systemic diseases, hormonal changes, radiation or chemotherapy treatment for cancers, and salivary gland disease.

I have been with Beaver Dental for lots of years. My appointments are usually at 7am and believe me I don't make too many appointments at that hour. It is a pleasure to be part of the Dr. Beaver group. Everyone is so wonderful to me - kind and always professional. Dr. Beaver has guided me into making the right decision with whatever needs to be done to keep my teeth in the best condition. He speaks to me with compassion and knowledge and is always including family updates. Going to Dr. Beaver Dental is like visiting extended family.

The hygienist at Beaver Dental are fantastic!!! Dr. Beaver is great. He hasn't had to do much work for me but what he has done has been fantastic with little to no discomfort. Highly recommend!

My visit to the office is always so pleasant the entire staff is kind. Kara is awesome! Dr. Beaver is great he's very honest and gentle when he works on my teeth. I don't think I will ever change my dentist.

I can't say enough good things about dr. Beaver and his entire staff. I have severe dental anxiety stemming from childhood. And i turn into sobbing ball of anxiety every time i have to go to the dentist. Every visit since i started seeing dr. Beaver has been wonderful. I still have severe anxiety and can get emotional, but beaver and his staff are always so warm and understanding. No judgment, only reassurance and comfort.

Just like a lot of other people I am terrified to go to a dentist. But my situation got to a point that I had no choice but to go. I was referred by a friend to Dr. Beaver and his staff. My first appointment was a consultation and i was treated with so much positive assurance and the staff made me feel totally comfortable. I was so embarrassed to even show them my teeth but they only saw the positive of how they could be beautiful again. I had a lot of work to be done and was glad that I was able to work out a payment plan . I am very happy with my results and I'm so glad I took the leap of faith and chose this office. Becca was so awesome, gentle and patient in answering all my questions. She and Dr. Beaver gave me the ability to show my smile again .
