Dr. Kyle Smith is an East Tennessee native and is excited to be permanently back home serving our community in Karns, TN. Dr. Smith is a graduate of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2015 after four years of comprehensive dental education. Before that time, he attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, where he completed his prerequisite dental coursework and received his bachelor's degree in Spanish language.
Dr. Smith remembers his undergraduate years as some of the most influential of his life, as he was given the opportunity to participate in several study abroad programs (stretching over six different countries) as well as extern in a variety of dental practices.
Dr. Smith considers traveling and dentistry among two of his favorite passions in life and is thrilled for any opportunity where he may combine the two. In 2013, Dr. Smith served in El Salvador as part of a medical and dental missions team and in 2014 was selected to travel to the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Sofia, Bulgaria as a student ambassador from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Dr. Smith considers himself blessed to now call East Tennessee home again and looks forward to greeting all patients with a warm smile and an exceptional attitude.
He also enjoys reading, hiking, and visiting new places. Many patients are surprised to hear that Dr. Smith has an identical twin, who also lives right here in Knoxville! He also has an older brother, Brett, and has one niece and three nephews. Dr. Smith looks forward to having children of his own in the future and is very close with his family, who for the most part all live in the East Tennessee area.
Owning his own dental practice in his hometown community has been a long time dream for Dr. Smith. Beaver Creek Dental is 100% owned and operated locally by Dr. Kyle Smith, who intends to serve our community for years to come.

In designing Beaver Creek Dental, one of our goals was to create a dental office that you could feel great about bringing your family to. My cheap insurance maxed out on the first cleaning, and neither of us realized until after having the second cleaning done. I received a bill 6 months later for the cleaning and some other work that I had done (despite already completing a payment plan for this work), since the insurance rejected coverage. Dr. Smith called me and was very accommodating in working out this issue which I greatly appreciated.

Came through when in great need with a dental emergency. Very detailed with explaining every step for each procedure needed before and while doing. Very gentle with procedures and cleaning also. Great staff from phones when scheduling, front desk assistance, and with throughly going over insurance and billing. Dr.Smith and his assistant are wonderful. Stacey, dental hygienist was great also. Very happy after every visit. Was eased with my anxiety at every visit.

Every staff member was very professional and helpful. The space is top of the line. Like most people, I usually dread going to the dentist. But with their calming tvs and supportive staff, I would go back for a cleaning every week!

Arrived 30 mins early because of the distance and I expected to wait till the appt time, but they got my son in about 5 mins after arriving. The office is smaller but has this very cozy welcoming atmosphere which is excellent for kiddos that have had questionable dental experiences in the past. (Like mine!) we had issues with other dentists not willing to help or touch a cap that had damage and was slowly getting worse. Dr Kyle was super kind and was quick but not in a "I'm rushing you out of here" kind of way. Was not a formal conventional dentist where they reprimand you for not brushing and flossing every minute of your life. Very informative and wants to offer the best solution possible. Tooth is fixed up and Dr Kyle is now our new dentist!

I have had terrible experiences with dentists in the past. However, that was not the case at Beaver Creek at all. The entire staff was extremely kind and caring. I told them how nervous I was and they were extremely kind about it and very patient with me. Definitely recommend!
