I graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, after four years as a high school science teacher. I always dreamed of being a dentist since breaking my front tooth in the church's basement when I was eight years old. After graduating from IUP, I was told that dental schools were not accepting female students. Of course, this was almost four decades ago. One of my greatest achievments was becoming the first female dentist in Upper Bucks County.
Dentistry is a field that is constantly progressing. Dentists and professional staff must be continually updating their knowledge of procedures and materials. We have weekly meetings to review our techniques. The front office is on the lookout for ways to get patients the benefits they deserve from their insurance companies. Jackie and Alyssa are ready to 'do battle' with the companies for our patients. Our whole approach is great patient care.
I have gotten to watch many of my patients grow up and bring their own children in for treatment. I enjoy treating new patients who are nervous about treatment and turning them into a believer of proper oral care. I am blessed with a team that is genuinely concerned with the well-being of the practice and our patients. We all work together to provide the best experience to our patients, and it amazes me what they come up with!
I grew up in Pittsburgh and moved to Bucks County immediately after graduating. I feel so fortunate to have lived, worked, and raised my family in such a wonderful community. I live with my husband, Jay Keyser, in Sellersville. I have two adult sons and grandchildren. My husband and I enjoy our many gardens...flowers, herbs, and vegetables. Cooking and spending time with our grandchildren are also one of our favorite things to do. I readily admit to being addicted to reading. I constantly ask my 'reader' patients for advice about books and authors...any genre.
Jay and I are passionate about giving back to our community. I am involved in the PA program for Donated Dental Services, where I get to serve the elderly. Jay is an elected supervisor for our township and is passionate about public service.
As part of the Beautiful Smiles family for over 20 years, I have enjoyed building long term patient relationships. When not working, I spend time with my wonderful husband, 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. My hobbies include cooking, gardening, and walking my 2 spunky dogs!
I have been in dentistry since technical high school. Ever since I was a little girl, I always enjoyed my dental visits. That was when I knew dentistry was for me! I love making patients feel relaxed and happy with their dental care. I enjoy being with family, friends, ministry, and my many parrots! I am so happy to be a part of the Beautiful Smiles team!
I started working at Beautiful Smiles in high school. While working, I quickly gained a strong interest in dentistry. I am now a Junior in college and on track to go to dental school to become a dentist! When not working or in school, I love doing anything outdoors. Camping and kayaking are my favorite activities.
I have been a dental hygienist for over 15 years, and I love my job! In my 'spare' time, I babysit my 5 grandchildren. Together with my husband and children, we spend a lot of time outdoors. Bike riding on different local trails is our favorite!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Explanations of proceedures were detailed and described very well along with other possible approaches. All financial aspects were explained along with all alternatives. Very pleasant experience

Love these guys! Aleta Detwiler has been my dentist for decades. I'm 77 and my teeth are still healthy! She also took my kids through adolescence and for years they they still called her from wherever they were if something was really wrong (like my daughter breaking off half her front tooth in a bike accident.) There's no better!

The best dentist office period. Always friendly, willing to work with patients on changes, and above and beyond with the work they do. My other dentists in life never did half the stuff Beautiful Smiles does for the same cost in the same routine appointments. Highly recommend.

My experience at Beautiful Smiles has been a good experience. Everyone treats you nicely. I had been there before but a bad choice I chose another dentist. That was my mistake. I went back to Beautiful Smiles and now I am happy. thank you everyone

After the tens of thousands of dollars I have spent at this office, I have to say, it's a waste of money to root canal, post, and crown a tooth. Additionally, it's really upsetting when your dentist isn't honest with you about the work that was done. I am no better off now, than before I started seeing this dentist in 2000 after moving back from Florida. In fact, I'm looking at having to lay out much more money due to the type of work that was done. In 40 years, I have spent over $ 100,000.00 on my teeth. Most of it at this office and Dr Lyons. I think our parents were much better off having to get false teeth than to utilize their retirement to pay for their teeth. Detwiler told me she wouldn't be my dentist any longer since I told her I was unable to afford all the additional work that needs to be done now.

I have been a patient at Beautiful Smiles since my teeth came in. Because of their consistent care, compassion, and gentleness, I have never been afraid or hesitant to go to the dentist. In fact, they have gained the trust of my grandmother who had previously been terrified of going to the dentist! In addition to these benefits, they are also extremely knowledgeable and truly care about my dental health. I would recommend that anyone come here for their dental needs!

Update (7/2019): Still the best place to go for dental work. I now have 2 children 4.5 yrs and 2 yrs old. Everyone was thrilled to see us when we arrived and my 4.5 yr old daughter who chooses to be shy even when she knows who we are going to see roped Dr. Danielle into helping her clean up her brother's mess. She finished helping and then sat with the kids and helped them turn on a movie while my 2 yr old flopped around like a fish on the kid pillows. No one in the office made me feel guilty for having to bring the kids and they truly help represent that old saying "It takes a village". Thank you all for your time a caring! Beautiful Smiles is a great dental practice. The whole staff was very accommodating when I came in for my cleaning with my 15 month old daughter in tow. In addition to keeping my smile healthy they kept my little one entertained and gave her, her very own toothbrush!! I will continue using Beautiful Smiles for all of my dental needs! Thank you Ladies!!!
