Doctor Graver feels fortunate to be able to practice in the same county in which he was born and raised. One of thirteen children, he was the only child in his family to be born in York Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School and served a two-year proselyting mission, for his church, in Southern Italy; with most of his time spent in Sicily.
He met and married his wife, Tara, from Bloomington/Normal, IL at Ricks College in Rexburg, ID in 1992. After transferring to Brigham Young University in Provo, UT he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Botany with an emphasis in Premedicine/Predentistry in 1997.
In 2002 he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia Universitys School of Dentistry.Immediately upon graduation, he began his career as an associate at a local dental office in York, PA. While working as an associate he gained the vision to start his own practice. In 2005, Dr. Graver with much help from his wife opened Beautiful Smiles Family Dental Center, Inc. In the twelfth year of marriage, Dr. and Mrs. Graver felt their family was complete with the birth of their second son and sixth child.
He found that this key opened the door for anyone to receive dental care. At the completion of 2015, Dr. Graver fulfilled his dream of completing a hospital-based residency in anesthesiology at St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx of New York City. Like with medicine, Dr. Graver knows first-hand that high-quality anesthesia/sedation dentistry is the gateway to great and comprehensive dental care. He strives to educate all patients that prevention is the key to good oral health. He recognizes that the unwavering support of his wife Tara made this final academic step in his career possible and he is most grateful to her.
Currently, Dr. Graver team-teaches with Tara a Sunday school class of seven to eight year-old children each Sabbath. During each week and at least one weekend a month, he serves Troop 177 as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Away from work and church, Dr. Graver enjoys working in his yard and family vegetable garden. In the future, Dr. Graver hopes to re-commence his hobby of RV camping with his wife, children, and grandchildren wherever the open road, family, and friends are found.
Tara was born and raised in Illinois. She received her Associates Degree in Office Education in 1993. Tara coordinates the payroll and accounts payable functions at the practice. She is also heavily involved in coordinating patient care. Away from the practice, she is the mother of six wonderful children, a member of her church, and also enjoys stamping and scrap booking.
Aileni grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover Area High School in 2011. She currently lives in Newberry with her husband and dogs. Aileni attended Harrisburg Area Community College and received her Associates degree in dental hygiene in 2015. In her free time she enjoys being with her family, cooking, hunting, fishing, and taking care of her garden and animals.
Jennifer was raised in Woodbine and attended Glenelg High School in Howard County, Maryland. After a satisfying 15-year career as a restaurant general manager, Jennifer decided to attend the D.A.T.S. of MD & VA course before moving to Mechanicsburg with her loving boyfriend, Anth. As she learned more about dentistry, she discovered that it was her passion. She became radiology certified in 2019. Continuing education is important to Jennifer, leading her to receive her DANB infection control certification with plans to eventually become an expanded functions dental assistant. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, cooking, and learning new things.
Madison was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She graduated from Washington High School in 2017. Shortly after graduation she moved to York, PA. She has lived here in York, PA for 4 years now and loves it. Madison took a job in Lancaster, PA that trained her in their intense 6 week training course to become an EMT. Madison continues to serve her community as an EMT at night while working here at Beautiful Smiles during the day. She uses her EMT certification here at our office for our sedations. In her free time she loves hanging out with her friends and family, camping and the beach.
Cynthia Cindy Stine was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to Pennsylvania when she was 5yrs old. She graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 1989. After a few years of working full-time in various places she decided to attend Yorktowne Business Institute in the Medical Office Assistant program. She graduated from YBI with a Bachelors Degree in 1995. Cindy lives in Dallastown with her husband of 23yrs, Curtis and their two daughters Hannah and Carissa. In her spare time Cindy enjoys watching the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel, she love scrapbooking and is a consultant for Creative Memories.
Elaine grew up in northern Pennsylvania but has now lived in the York area for the past seven years. She is a Dental Hygienist and has worked at Beautiful Smiles since 2010. She worked full-time before starting a family in 2013. She and her husband, Matt, now have three lively children aged 6, 4, and 2. When Elaine is not home with her adorable children she enjoys filling in at Beautiful Smiles and spending time with her friends and family.
Rebecca Becky Toms serves as the office manager at Beautiful Smiles. She has worked in dental management for over 10 years in the greater Harrisburg area. Prior to entering the dental field Becky attended college at Shenandoah Conservatory where she earned her Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters degree in Clarinet performance. While she still has a passion for music, Becky has submerged herself in the dental world. Her favorite part of practice management is evaluating office systems and protocols and implementing new strategies to provide the best experience for every patient. She loves getting to know patients and their families and looks forward to seeing them at each visit. Becky lives in Dillsburg with her fianc Luke, and their three children.

I had a serious wisdom tooth infection and I met with Dr. Graver on a Monday at 3:30pm, and by Tuesday at 6:30am I was in his operating room getting my wisdom teeth removed. It is now a week post op and it is like it never happened! I was very pleased with the entire staff!

Dr. Graver is obviously engaged in his profession, experienced and a pretty sharp guy, too. The staff do a fine job as well. I enjoy some banter between the people who are digging and scraping in my mouth, because mind you, it gives me a general impression of where there minds are, also that they are not distracted in daydreams, and that they are relaxed. I've had a root canal, a bridge, fillings, extractions, deep cleanings, a crown, tried the laughing gas, and so forth, and I continue to go there after having moved out of the area. They explain what they are doing. They ask you about comfort levels and seem to run a pretty tight ship in terms of procedures. And they are honest about what lies down the road for you if you don't take care of your teeth. I see regular staff there over years' time. There are optional text reminders as your appointment approaches. I've been to several dentists over the years, have been here the longest, and as long as they keep it going like they do, I don't plan on going anywhere else.

I had sorta an emergency and They fite in the day I called them. within 2 hous of me calling.Everyone's was/are very friendly. They all take time to answer questions. They don't rush you out the door. Would highly recommend them.

No other dentist I've had has tried so much to make sure that I'm comfortable and have as little pain as possible. All of their staff are friendly and nice, they even have support dogs in the office. Another great thing is they are licensed for anesthesia so you can get all your work done at one place by the same people. For anybody that's had anxiety or previous issues with other dentists like myself, I would highly recommend you come here.

Everyone is so nice from the front office staff, to the dental assistants and hygienists, right to Dr. Graver himself. They all make you feel welcomed and help ease any anxiety you may have about being at the dentist or issues with insurance. Highly recommend!

I came in , in severe pain and extremely scared!! I had years prior involving several shots for a quadrant of cleaning at prior dentists. I have such anxiety about things to be done!! The team , put me at easy... even through..... Periodontal disease was covered in half my mouth. I had to use general anesthesia. A tooth had to be pulled. 24 hrs later, I'm feeling much better!! I can't eat all things yet, but.... I can sit and ---- not cry. !! I had been fighting going to a dentist for about a week before calling and going in. Dr. Graver and Staff are awesome!!

Experienced a broken tooth and could not get into any dentist--6 tries. Finally contacted Dr. Joseph Graver and he was willing to work me in on next business day. He expressed concern and willingness to meet my tough personal schedule. When I called for an emergency appointment, his staff were kind and sympathetic. When I arrived, I was not kept waiting. Dr. Graver quickly analyzed the problem and gave me several options. He didn't force his opinions on me and thoroughly explained each option. I chose the best option for me, which included a tooth extraction with nitrous oxide. I never felt the extraction and was ready to drive home within a few minutes. A bonus with this dentist is that he is a dental anesthesiologist and can offer all anesthesia options. Wonderful experience at Beautiful Smiles. I was beginning to think I would not find a dedicated and caring dentist in York. However, I was wrong and found one of the best and look forward to working with him to preserve my teeth. Diane H

Dr. Graver and his staff are the most welcoming and knowledgeable medical team we have ever experienced. My son is 8 years old, non speaking autistic person who needed anesthesia for a dental cleaning. It went amazingly well. I would recommend this facility to anyone with specific needs, young or older. It's so difficult to find places that understand, what a blessing it is that these folks exist in the world.

I had an emergency tooth extraction required the staff was extremely courteous and helpful the doctor did a great job. Im super pleased with the service and the people at beautiful smiles highly recommend for any service. BTW I was visiting from Florida so I had no insurance but the out of pocket cost was extremely fair and reasonable

Highly recommend this practice. Tjis is my third visit to this practice and still very happy. Staff is super friendly and has excellent customer service. My hygienist, Elaine is the best hygienist I've every had. Dr. Graver is great. He thorough, friendly and takes the time to explain things.

Dr. Graver and his staff always go above and beyond. From flexible scheduling (had my annual cleaning and needed to get some fillings and was able to be seen same week!) To clean and comfy rooms and a welcoming office (who wants to be uncomfortable at the dentist?) I cant recommend Beautiful Smiles and Dr. Graver enough! Been coming here for years and always leave with a "beautiful smile!" So if you are in need of dental work please check them out!

The friendly staff at Beautiful Smiles make for a pleasant dental experience. My family and I are impressed by their willingness to take the time to answer questions and discuss concerns regarding our dental care. We also love the addition of Nephi to the office. His fun personality is the cure for nervous patients!

I truly cannot say enough about the care I received at Beautiful Smiles last week. I was experiencing some excruciating pain from clenching my teeth at night and it was absolutely unbearable last Tuesday. I called Dr graver's office and asked if I could be seen because I was in so much pain. The front desk admins were beyond gracious and gave me an appointment right away. (Don and Becky at the front desk are always so kind no matter how many times you come into the dentist office with different concerns.) This particular day I was treated by Dr. Graver ,Jen and Sequoia. I'm not one who likes to go to the dentist but this office feels more like a family than a dentist. I was treated with the utmost care that day from the very beginning until the end. The staff made sure that I was absolutely the most comfortable I could be during this process. Just thoughtful things they did like turning the lights down because I had such a bad headache, giving me a warm blanket and watching a cooking show with me until I felt better... It truly does not get better than that at the dentist! You may walk in the door as a patient but on your way out you feel like family. If you are considering going to Beautiful Smiles DO IT you will not be disappointed! Thank you to all- Dr Graver, Mrs Graver, Becky, Don, Lani, Jen, Sequoia AND that adorable, well behaved comforting Nephi the therapy dog.

I have been going to Beautiful Smiles for years now. They do an amazing job taking care of me and my family's dental needs. Likewise getting appointments is pretty easy and convenient even with trying to work around work and kids schedules. Recently I decided to splurge and had my teeth whitened. What an amazing experience! My teeth look awesome and it was a short and relatively relaxing process. I highly recommend Beautiful Smiles!
