Dr. Ara Carmody was raised in Mukilteo, Wa where she graduated from Kamiak High School. She continued her education at the University of Washington where she double majored in Biology Physiology and Near Eastern Studies. Upon graduating, she was accepted into the University of Washington School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Prior to opening Beardslee Dental in Bothell in 2019, Dr. Carmody was in private practice for over seven years. She truly valued that time as she spent those years cultivating her skills and the principles for which she wants Beardslee Dental to represent.
Dr. Carmody enjoys developing meaningful relationships with patients and those relationships are one of her favorite parts of dentistry. She will always work hard to earn your trust and deliver honest, quality dental care. Dr. Carmodys love of growth in her profession has resulted in hundreds of continuing education hours and collaborations with dental specialists. She understands the importance of staying current in the ever changing field of dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr Carmodys world revolves around her two toddlers. Youll find her at local parks, library story times, and chauffeuring her daughters to their many social events. Dr. Carmody and her husband, also a dentist, enjoy attending Husky games and slowly adding another pin to their travel map!

I have been going to Beardslee Dental for about a year. The office is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and I enjoyed going to the dentist for the first time in many years. Recently, they recommended that I get a nightguard. I was reluctant and explained that because it wasn't necessary, I didn't think I wanted to spend the money at this time. I was told that insurance would cover a portion of it and that they'd send over an estimate prior to scheduling a fitting. The estimate was roughly $200 and I decided to move forward with the purchase. Soon after that, my husband had some work done, and was over charged a few hundred dollars, because our insurance is "unique and keeping them on their toes." We have a normal delta dental plan and I've never had issues prior to this. Last week, I received a bill from the office for $300 because they were wrong in the estimate and insurance didn't cover the nightguard at all. I explained that this was not what I signed up for, I didn't want to pay this amount in the first place, that it was not necessary, just recommended. I told the billing department that I felt I shouldn't have to pay this balance, and was told that I was being dropped as a patient immediately. I called other offices and asked what they do in this situation and was told a variety of things including, the office would meeting them halfway because it was their error, or that if the patient paid, they would give them a couple free teeth whitening sessions, but all of them were shocked to hear that I was dropped because of this. If you decide to try this office, I'd call your insurance prior to having work done.

I am one of those people who skipped regular dental appointments for years because I was afraid of dentists who lecture, charge ridiculous amounts of money, and make me feel bad for needing them in the first place; the incredible staff at Beardslee Dental were WONDERFUL and put all those fears to rest! They made everything with my insurance easy, and the doctor was so gentle and competent. I've never posted reviews before, but I have gone through a deep cleaning and several fillings now and I still think they are wonderful so definitely worth talking about. :)

I've recently started coming here for dental care and am very happy I've done so. The team are very friendly, competent, and accommodating. I really like the exam rooms, which have floor to ceiling windows and a great view.

I wish I had the same good experience as other people who commented here. Painful, time consuming and disappointing is my experience. I had 4 teeth filled. After 2 month, I am still experiencing bad headache from the filling. And then I made an appointment to go back and Dr. Carmody examined but didn't have availability to fix the problem no matter how much I explained I really wanted someone more experienced to fix the problem. So I had to make another appointment and the newer doctor redid the two fillings for me. Still feeling headache caused by the filling. I will give it time and see. But it has been really time consuming and a lot of pain in the process. I didn't experience this kind of pain and trouble in my past dental treatment with other clinics. Hopefully my teeth can be functioning again soon.

My experiences at Beardslee Dental have been nothing short of excellent. Dr. Carmody and the Beardslee Dental team have always been respectful, courteous and positive during my time as a patient. The dental office has followed COVID protocols during each of my visits during the pandemic, and I always feel both welcome and safe during my time there. The office is nice, new, conveniently located and has great views to put you at ease while you are in the chair. Payments and insurance processes have always been streamlined and very simple for me. The office is excellent at communicating for upcoming appointments and working with the patient to be flexible should scheduling challenges arise for either party. I would highly recommend Dr. Carmody and the Beardslee Dental team.

It's hard to find a good dentist these days, but Dr. Carmody and her staff exceed all expectations. The hygienists consistently provide quality cleanings, scheduling is a breeze, the office is modern and clean, and the staff are polite. My fillings look and feel better than ever. Moreover, I do not feel "overtreated" or pressured to replace dental fillings earlier than necessary. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a trustworthy, talented dentist.

Beardslee Dental team is like a large extended family - you come in for what seems like a mere-dental-appointment and you leave feeling like you have belonged there forever. Forever? Yup. The time feels seamless. Just like being at-home in some place that raised you; you can come and go, but you feel like you belong. That's it. Short and sweet. Very impressive. The entire team is superb - personal, competent, and very well-trained. As gracious people, they are actually happy to see you. Go figure. My new dental family is the best of the best. I no longer fear my appointments. Thank you to Dr. Carmody and to her staff. Much gratitude.
