Dr. Rita Patel-Miller and Dr. Paul Miller met while attending the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Previously, Dr. Paul attended Indiana University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Biology. Dr. Rita attended the University of Oregon and earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology.

After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry, they both moved to Cleveland, Ohio. While there, Dr. Paul completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Dental Clinic. Dr. Rita attended Case Western Reserve University and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. They moved to the Bloomington, Illinois area, where each was employed as the lead dentist in different practices.

After their son Liam was born, they decided to move to Northwest Indiana to build a brand new dental practice. The move to Crown Point has allowed them to be closer to Dr. Pauls family in his hometown of Valparaiso. Dr. Rita is a native of Portland, Oregon.

For Dr. Rita, time away from looking after her patients includes cooking and spending time with friends and family, while Dr. Paul enjoys reading and working out. Both enjoy quality time with Liam and their daughter Maya traveling and experiencing new adventures as a family. They are also pet parents to a toy poodle named Molly, whom they've nicknamed seven pounds of fury.

Both doctors belong to the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Indiana Dental Society, Northwest Indiana Dental Society. Additionally, their commitment to clinical excellence involves investing in numerous hours of continuing education and extensive clinical training with Spear Education through hands-on workshops.

Brooke attended Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, and graduated in 2017. She has been part of the Beacon Hill Dental team since 2019. As a hygienist, her role is to help build confident smiles by improving her patients oral health. She provides services such as periodontal therapy, x-rays, oral cancer screenings, cleanings, intraoral and extraoral examinations, fluoride applications, sealants, ad oral hygiene instructions.

When shes not helping patients, Broke loves to spend time with her family and friends on the boat in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. She enjoys exercising by riding her bike and walking!. Brooke has two puppies that are her joyBrandi, a Pomeranian, and Moose, a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Alixs role as a hygienist is to help patients improve their oral health and overall health. Her duties include teeth cleanings, periodontal therapy, x-rays, fluoride applications, administering local anesthetic, and educating her patients.

Alix graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2015 and started with Beacon Hill Dental the same year. Her favorite part about a patient's visit is building friendships and hearing about the exciting things happening in their lives. She loves building personal connections with people and helping them achieve their oral health goals.

Julie attended Indiana University Northwest to study dental hygiene and joined the Beacon Hill Dental team in 2014. As a dental hygienist, her goal is to help her patients improve their dental health. Her duties include performing teeth cleanings, periodontal therapies, fluoride applications, x-rays, and educating patients on ways to improve their oral health. Julie loves establishing relationships with patients and ensuring that their dental experience is a positive one.

Abigail started high school vocational assistant training in 2013. She went on to attend Indiana University Northwest and started at Beacon Hill Dental in 2015. Abigails duties are to assist the doctors chairside and provide a stress-free environment for patients.

She enjoys building relationships with patients, helping them overcome their fear of the dentist, and ensuring they have a great dental experience. The best things about working at Beacon Hill Dental are the fun environment and being part of a team that she loves working with.

Brandy attended Hammond Area Career Center for 11th and 12th grade, where she studied dental assisting. She then went on to complete her education at Indiana University Northwest. She started in the dental field in 2018 and began working at Beacon Hill Dental the same year.

As a dental assistant, Brandys job is to make every patient feel comfortable and relaxed while she and the doctor work to create a healthy smile. Her duties include assisting the doctor in restorative procedures and taking x-rays. She loves getting to know her patients and making them happy and comfortable at each visit.

As a dental assistant, Lateras job is to help the dentists with different restorative procedures and ensure her patients are always comfortable in the chair. She likes helping patients feel comfortable and ensuring that they want to be here.

Latera received her training at Brightwood College. She started working as a dental assistant in 2018 and joined Beacon Hill Dental in 2020. She enjoys interacting with different people every day and seeing their confidence increase as their oral health improves.

Pia studied dental assisting in high school through a trade school called the Career Center. After graduating, she continued her studies in dental education at Indiana University Northwest. Her career at Beacon Hill Dental started when she was hired as a front desk receptionist and offered the position of office manager six months later.

Pias job as office manager is to present dental treatment plans to patients and guide them in making decisions that help them achieve a healthy smile. She enjoys connecting with patients on a personal level and loves the confidence patients develop in their smiles. For Pia, its a joy to see their expectations met.

Jill has been in the dental field since 2002 and started with Beacon Hill Dental in 2021. She loves everything about working here, from the dental team to the doctors to the fun atmosphere of the office.

Jills responsibility as insurance coordinator is to assist our patients by answering their questions and helping them understand their insurance benefits. She enjoys getting to know our patients and building relationships with them and their families.
