Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional 4 years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Jamali practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

The surgical staff at Beacon Dental Studio are experienced, certified specialists with CPR training. Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. All members are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies.

Personally, Dr. Jamali came to the United States in 1985, fleeing his war-torn country of Iran at the age of fourteen, with only a few belongings and his nineteen year old sister. After twenty years of studying and working on a Visa, he finally received a green card and subsequently citizenship five years later. Dr. Jamali started working at a young age in order to afford his dream of attending college. His drive and thirst for knowledge led him to graduate college early, therefore becoming the youngest student in his graduating dental school class. Currently, Dr. Jamali resides in Brooklyn with his wife and young son.

Medicine is continuously advancing. Therefore, Dr. Jamali dedicates a significant amount of his free time to continuing education in oral and maxillofacial reconstruction. Over the years, his passion has become facial reconstructive (orthognathic) surgery. In pursuit of his passion, he completed a fellowship in Orthognathic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He was first influenced in this sub-specialty by a mentor, Professor Johan Reyneke, where his clinical excellence and care for details reflects his respect for the patients and passion for maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Jamali was moved by these qualities and has made every attempt to bring them to his own private practice. Patient care and satisfaction drives Dr. Jamali every day.

Dr. Jamali obtained his doctorate degree from Tufts University in 1995, he then attended the dental anesthesiology program at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Jamali completed 1 year of surgical internship at Downstate Medical Center and 4 years of residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, which is one of the largest level one trauma centers in the country.

Dr. Nhung is a board-certified orthodontist. She was born and raised in Rockland County, NY. She knew from an early age that she wanted to become an orthodontist while working for an orthodontist during her senior year of high school. She received her bachelors degree in Economics from NYU and went to continue her dental and orthodontic education from her alma mater.

Dr. Nhung believes in patient-centered care. Developing trust and rapport is essential to delivering the best outcomes for her patients. She never hesitates to answer any questions and understands that communication is vital for great results.

She currently lives on the Upper East Side with her partner George and her puppy Luna. In her free time, Dr. Nhung enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking, fishing on Long Island, and going to Central Park with her puppy Luna.

She is an active member of the American Board of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, New York State Dental Association, and Suffolk County Dental Society.

Christopher grew up in New Jersey, working in his fathers dental office, learning the value of high-quality dental care and understanding the importance of preventive care and patient education. He graduated from Drew University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Environmental Science, then received his Masters in Science with a focus in Biology at New York University College of Art and Science along with a hygiene degree awarded with honors. At NYU, he was the SADHA President and was recognized by The New York Dental Hygienists Association by receiving the Presidents Award for Student Excellence.

Christophers goal is to provide high-quality care for all of his patients and educate them on maintaining excellent oral health. When not working in private practice, he enjoys teaching as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at NYU College of Dentistry and focusing on pediatric outreach and education. He is also a Faculty Member for Align Technology, teaching dental continuing education courses.

Now a resident of Brooklyn, he looks forward to time with his family and walking his dog Eros. Christopher is a dedicated dental health care professional while making sure all of his patients feel comfortable and leave his chair loving their smile!
