Growing up in England, David Traynor, B.D.S. graduated from the Guys, Kings, and St Thomass Schools of Medicine and Dentistry at London University then finished his training at the University of Michigan Dental School, where he completed two years in an Advanced General Dentistry Program.
Dr. Traynor has been practicing dentistry in the Dexter area with his office, Beacon Dental, since 2008. He has experience in several styles of private practices including a fast-paced group practice, a large high-end practice, and a small family practice. He brought all his experience together to create his own business, which is a fun-family atmosphere with exceptional dental treatments.
Dr. Traynor grew up in England and relocated with his family to Michigan. In 2002, he moved to Ann Arbor to begin his career, then in 2014 moved his family to Dexter. Dr. Traynor's wife Emily, is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan; their two active sons, Jack and Sam, attend Dexter schools. He loves being so connected to such a wonderful community.
They provide a wide array of general dentistry services using cutting-edge technology and work hard to ensure their patients get the best care. Each member of our team is dedicated to creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, educating patients, and helping them make informed decisions when it comes to their dental health and aesthetics.
Kim is our Business Manager and has been with us since 2010. She has a degree in business management and over 18 years of management experience. Kim and her 2 wonderful children, Nate and Madison, live in Pinckney. In her free time, she enjoys boating, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Angie is a Registered Dental Hygienist with over 18 years of experience and has worked with Dr. Traynor for over 12 years. Her and husband Nate live in Tecumseh and they are the proud parents of 3 boys Blake, Ian and Merik who are avid baseball players and keep them terribly busy.
Brandie is a Registered Dental Hygienist who joined our team in 2016 after graduating from Grand Rapids Community college. She lives in Grass Lake with her husband Justin and their son Hunter. In her free time, she enjoys working on various home projects, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Kathy is a Registered Dental Hygienist who joined our team in 2017 with over 16 years of experience. She lives in Chelsea with her husband Scott and her 3 curious and creative daughters who keep her young.
Andrea is a Dental Assistant with over 19 years of experience. She was born and raised in Traverse City and now lives in Chelsea with her husband Colin and their two sons Chase and Blake, their daughter Alayna is currently at MSU.
Mari is a Dental and Administrative Assistant who joined out team in 2017 after graduating from Ross Medical School. She was born in Idaho but raised in Michigan. She and her husband Aaron live in Dexter. In her free time, she loves riding motorcycles and fishing.

Everything went very smoothly when I came in today for replacement of an old crown. Everyone did everything to be sure that I was comfortable durning the procedure and kept me informed at all times of what they were doing. I received appropriate written information about after care and follow up..

Doctor Traynor gave me a new smile this year when he capped/crowned 4 of my chipped and broken front teeth and I am still blown away how natural they look, especially along the gum line. He has all the latest technology, uses a fantastic lab for fabrication and the whole experience and result greatly exceeded my expectations!

Dr. Traynor and his staff could not have impressed me more! I never once had any pain from the shot or the two crowns he did for me which was not what I was expecting. The temporary crowns fit perfectly and I can't wait for the final product. 10 out of 10 for this office!

My family and I are all patients at Beacon Dental and have been for a few years now. One of the things we really appreciate about the staff is that they are very respectful of our time. We have never had to wait more than a couple minutes to be called back to begin our appointment. The staff are all gentle, kind and friendly. The office is extremely clean; even before COVID. We have a blended family and multiple insurance policies that the office has to keep track of and we've never had trouble. They are highly organized and efficient. We plan to continue with this office for the forseeable future.

Dr Traynor and his staff are fantastic. They are wonderful at what they do and they are so personable and a pleasure to be around. We drive almost 50 minutes from where we live because of how they treat us and take such good care of us.

I have always had nothing but the best experience at Beacon Dental. All of the staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and make teeth cleanings and procedures as comfortable as possible. We have started to take our 19 month old twins here and the care they take to make their first visits a positive experience was great.

Beacon Dental is hands down the best dental office I've been to, and I have worked for a few dental offices in the past 15yrs. Dr. Traynor is not just personable but is fantastic at explaining everything concerning your oral health. I am versed on dental speak, but even Dr. T. helped me with my understanding of what I needed and gave me options. I have found my forever office :)

Dr. Traynor and staff are professional and up to date on all dental practice. Office immaculate, inviting, staff well trained, very knowledgeable in their role. Honestly, never had a uncomfortable experience. Always seen right away for a tooth issue, never felt rushed, always a thorough discussion and plan for any concerns or dental work. Dr. Traynor is one in a million. I highly recommend this dental practice.
