Dr. Whitten is very professional. He displayed my tooth xray on a large screen and talked to me about my root canal procedure. He assured me I would not feel pain during the procedure, and he was right! The volume of the background music was just right to mask the sounds of drilling. He periodically informed me of how the procedure was progressing. Most of all, I appreciate that he did not talk about anything but my tooth; not his garden, car, the wheather, etc...just my tooth. His assistant was always ready with any tool he needed. Very little talking needed between the two of them. The most important person in the room was me...the patient. I would recommend Dr. Whitten to anyone who needs a root canal.

I found the endodontist to be skilled at what he did. I also found everyone from the front desk to the doctor himself and all of the assistants to be respectful of my slight anxiety. They were very comforting and helpful and did not make me feel like a burden for communicating my concerns.

Dr. Whitten and staff were very attentive and informative during my root canal. I had very little to no pain during the procedure and was on my way home within an hour. Best experience I could've had for what it was.

I was referred to Dr. Whitten because I was in need of five root canals. I had a consultation with Dr. Whitten who explained it was best to do the procedure in two visits. The first visit he did three and on the second visit he did the final two. At no time did I feel any pain or discomfort during or after the roots canals were completed. During the procedures Dr. Whitten spoke to me, informing me as to what he was doing and asking me how I was doing Dr. Whitten and his staff are kind and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Whitten.

Worst experience I have ever had with an oral surgeon, Dr. Whitten. I had forewarned him that I was terrified of needles. The surgery consists of putting a needle in the front of my gum and then in the roof of my mouth. I had a panic attack during/after the first needle. I told him I needed a second to get my breathing down and his replied, "This is ridiculous. I don't have time for you to act like this. I have a busy schedule, so you can leave." Which I found funny because I had actually came in an hour early because I had received a call saying they had a cancelation, and I had showed up 15 minutes early to the new appointment time, so they were able to start early. I understand that it can be frustrating to have a patient have a panic attack while you are trying to work on them, but that was no way to speak to a person who just spent a significant amount to have a procedure done, when I had come in early, and forewarned him about my fear. He also had buddies waiting in the other room to hang out with him when I was leaving his office, so he was putting his personal leisure before his patient care. He did explain the rest of the surgery to me, and recommended that I ask for laughing gas for future procedures. That initial reaction to my fear though was unpleasant, so I would recommend that if you have a fear of needles to research better practices that will cater to you. If you do not have that fear, then Dr. Whitten is for you.

Horrible experience. He missed THREE roots according to my new endontist. I'm now in the hospital with a MASSIVE infection. They think it's due to him missing the roots. Also, was PAINFUL.
