Beach City Dental is a Huntington Beach based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using state-of-the-art dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, crowns, veneers and more.
Dr. Nelson received his Bachelors Degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University. During his undergraduate education, he took a career exploration class which required him to observe numerous professions. When he observed an oral surgeon in action, he found his passion and made up his mind rather quickly, that this was the career path for him. He still loves what he does every day.
During dental school at University of the Pacific, San Francisco, Dr. Nelson served as class president each year, and as Student Body President during his senior year. He graduated with high honors, and was accepted into the 4-year oral and maxillofacial surgery program at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA.
During residency, Dr. Nelson was trained in IV sedation, dental implants, removal of difficult teeth, facial trauma and orthognathic (jaw repositioning) surgery. He also presented research on jaw tumors and imaging modalities for diagnosis of mandibular fractures.
Dr. Tyler Nelson is happily married to Natalie, his college sweetheart. Together, they are proud parents of 6 children. Beyond spending time with his family, Dr. Nelson enjoys running, biking, and snowboarding.
Dr. Marcus Baker received a Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University. Following graduation he attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Southern California. There he excelled academically, clinically, and was a regular Dean's List recipient. He was selected to receive the Academy of General Dentistry award given to the student who displayed the highest knowledge and skill in restorative dentistry.
Dr. Jeff Takai, is a dental implant and gum disease specialist at Beach City Dental. Dr. Takai grew up in southern California where his father was also a dentist. As a result, he hasbeen involved in dentistry in some capacity his entire life and he developed a strong passion for dentistry at a young age.
Dr. Takai completed his undergraduate schooling at UC Berkeley. He then attended University of the Pacific for dental school and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school Dr. Takai was attracted to the surgical side of dentistry and decided he wanted to become more specialized. Upon graduation, he furthered his education and training in periodontics at UC San Francisco where he completed hissurgical residency in 2013.

Beach City Dental is awesome! They make you feel really comfortable and communicate clearly with you about your teeth and how to keep them on point. Dr. Baker knows what he is doing and it feels good to know that your teeth are being handled by a high quality professional.

I have always been afraid of Dentist because of my past experiences. That fear disappeared once I went to Dr Baker. He was kind, gentle, honest, and very knowledgeable. My fear of Dentist is now over. His staff is wonderful and I had a excellent experience.

I had an awful pain in my old root canal tooth. I was able to be seen the same day I could not take the pain anymore. Dr Baker was able to use all the previous X-rays and current X-rays to explain that the tooth needed to be extracted. It was quick and painless and he even hooked me up with a Bluetooth noise canceling headphone with my favorite music. It doesn't get any better than that!!!!

I have been coming to this dental office for a couple of years now. From day one I was impressed and comfortable. The staff is very nice, the facilities are very clean, and you feel that you are well taken care of ! Dr. Baker and his staff... they are the most caring, genuine, professional people I have ever had the pleasure of being around. No one likes going to the dentist. But now I can not wait to get there. I have had some major work done and they took such good care of me there and my teeth I couldn't be more pleased . Such a great office and up to date with the equipment so it makes it easier less time n definitely less pain. So happy I found them and will always recommend them to everyone I know.

This was my first appointment at this office and I was thoroughly impressed. Everyone was professional, friendly, and so helpful. Dr. Baker was very thorough and concise in explaining specifics procedures and options. Leesa, the hygienist was very friendly and also explained things in great detail.
