As a courtesy, we will submit all insurance claims for our patients. We can also pre-authorize treatment costs if requested by our patients. We will fully attempt to maximize your insurance benefits but we are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims. You are personally responsible for your account, and we encourage you to contact us if your policy has not paid within 30 days.
Please feel free to contact our office if your child has dental insurance that is not listed, as we can file with any PPO insurance company, as long as they do not require the patient to see a specific doctor on their list. Please keep us informed of any insurance changes such as address, policy name or changes of employment.
Our doctors received an extra two years of specialized training after dental school. They are dedicated to treating infants through adolescents and patients with special needs. The additional education builds a strong foundation in child psychology, growth and development, non-pharmacological behavior management, sedation techniques, in-office general anesthesia and hospital dentistry.

My goal as a board-certified pediatric dentist is to allow children (and their parents) to have a positive experience learning about preventing tooth decay and maintaining optimal oral health. As a pediatric dentist, I treat children from 12 months old through adolescence and Im competently trained and experienced in treating patients with special healthcare needs. I completed my bachelors degree at the University of San Diego, followed by my doctorate degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and my post-doctorate pediatric dentistry training at the University of Southern California and Childrens Hospital of Orange County.
I have a strong passion for getting involved in my community and volunteering with worthy organizations. I have completed mission dentistry in Belize, Africa and Mexico. I also love teaching and I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry at USC and Millers Childrens Hospital/CDHC in Long Beach, where I supervise pediatric dental residents. When Im not practicing dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and two young children, Mila and Ari.
Hi, I am Dr. Sean. As a board-eligible orthodontist I strive to provide my patients with beautiful and healthy smiles that they can show off with confidence. My focus is to make orthodontic treatment as simple and effective as possible using modern and innovative techniques.
As an orthodontist I am competently trained in treating children, teenagers, and adults. I completed my bachelors degree at McGill University followed by my doctorate degree from University of Toronto and my post-doctorate orthodontic training at the University of Colorado.
When I am not doing orthodontics, I spend time with my wife and two children having fun around the South Bay. In my spare time, I enjoy being active and playing sports like hockey, skiing, canoe tripping, golf and tennis.
Some children are unable to have dental work done in a traditional setting due to apprehension, previous negative experiences, young age, special needs, etc. We strive to keep your childs dental experience positive and avoid creating dental phobias that can be carried into adulthood.
We offer intravenous sedation for children unable to have dental treatment using conventional methods. Dr. Richard Stafford helps care for our patients by providing pediatric sedation and anesthesia. Dr. Stafford is a board-certified dentist anesthesiologist.
Dr. Stafford attended UCLA School of Dentistry, Harvard School of Dental Medicine with a Hospital Dental Residency at the Brigham and Womens Hospital, and Loma Linda University for his Anesthesia Residency. Dr. Stafford works in private pediatric dental practices and is on staff at Miller Childrens Hospital of Long Beach.

Most amazing doctor and staff. My four-year-old has done five visits for fillings and my six year old has had two visits and each time as I watch Dr tara work and her staff i literally get teary eyed at how sweet they make it for my kids. They never experience pain and feel very calm at appointments. I can't recommend enough.

My 2.5 year old daughter is on the spectrum and she loves everyone at Bayview and especially Dr. Steph, who has the magic touch! No screams, no tears, just smiles. I love every thoughtful detail at Bayview--it is immaculately clean, a balloon is waiting for my child as soon as we walk in, and plenty of space to run around and burn off energy. Cocomelon greeted us as soon as we entered the exam room. Lots of special, personal touches. Thank you for doing what you do.

Brought my 2.5 years old to see Dr Tera today, it was his first dentist visit and I was already picturing a whole meltdown.. but when we arrived my son instantly loved the place and ran to watch the beautiful aquarium.. their clinic is stunning! Clean and just so well done and beautiful! Dr Tera was amazing with my son, such a patient and great doctor, she immediately passed her good energy onto him! he first received a little toy ( a ball) so that made him happy, and she instantly knew how to make him feel comfortable, making him laugh and showing him the ustensiles she will be using. She checked him and did the necessary, of course he did cry but that's to be expected, but still much less than I initially expected. We then debriefed on her observations and she gave us great tips for tooth brushing a 2.5 yo and maintaining good hygiene, she also gave us a nice folder giving us all the information we need and a little goodie bad with a toddler toothbrush, floss, stickers, toothpaste.. and for being a brave boy he even had a balloon at the end, he was delighted:) I loved the final touch, a picture with the doctor which we received in a little pocket together with a cute little charm. I loved it there, loved that I found a great pediatric dentist for my children that I can trust and know they will be comfortable with. Also worth noting the initial admin process was much better than what I've experienced so far, efficient and great contact with receptionist and all staff. I HIGHLY recommend the place!

The staff here are very caring and the doctors are so friendly and so thorough. We have 2 toddlers and as a parent who has had many dental issues myself, I looked for a place that would provide thorough evaluation and cleaning. I refer Bayview to anyone who is looking for a pediatric dentist for their children or baby.

Not sure how I haven't posted yet on our incredible experiences with Bayview Dental Group. We have been going to Dr Stephanie since they opened. We have four kids ages 4 to 14. We have been to SEVERAL local pediatric dentists and I can say without a doubt they are the BEST! My oldest son is a complete wreck when it comes to dentist visits. He was always so nervous and would avoid them at all costs. The very first visit to Dr Stephanie I couldn't believe my eyes. He was sitting in the chair and didn't get up a 100 times. Dr Stephanie and her staff were amazing, after that visit he said how easy it was and he couldn't wait to go back. My other 3 kids loved Dr Stephanie just as much. My kids no longer fear their dental visits but look forward to them. As their parent I also value Dr Stephanie's treatment. Prior to Dr Stephanie I have had several instances with local pediatric dentists pushing unnecessary treatments. With Dr Stephanie I trust her and know she doesn't recommend anything unless it is absolutely necessary. I am so thankful we found Bayview Pediatric Dental Group. They are the BEST of the BEST!

We especially love the report card they get based on how well they are going on their daily oral hygiene. My kids are teenagers and get pretty competitive which helps. We highly recommend checking them!

As a medical professional, I am very picky about who I allow to care for my daughter. That being said, I cannot speak more highly regarding the care my daughter has received from Dr. Stephanie over the past 4 years. In addition to being knowledgeable and compassionate, she also makes time to educate parents regarding proper dental health and has bedside manner that is second to none. Her staff is always welcoming and the facility is immaculate. She has made dental visits something my family looks forward to, rather than dreading, and we cannot thank her and her staff enough for the top notch care they consistently deliver. I couldn't imagine taking my daughter to anyone else for her dental care.

What an awesome experience my kids had at their dental appointment! I can't recommend Bayview and Dr. Stephanie enough! The office is beautiful and clean. The Drs and staff are taking all of the extra precautions for COVID, and you will feel at ease the moment you walk in the door. The kids can't wait for the next appointment, thank you Dr. Stephanie!

I rarely leave reviews but I have to when it comes to Bayview Pediatric, they are phenomenal! The staff are all so kind and welcoming. Dr. Stephanie is amazing! My son and daughter look forward to going- which is crazy for my 4 year old! She is so patient, caring and knowledgeable of the best and safest treatments. They take every precaution to make sure everyone is safe during this pandemic. I can't recommend them enough.

I am so glad I came to Bay view Pediatric dental group and saw Dr. Tera! Back story... We were previously at South Bay pediatric dentistry in Torrance and unfortunately our insurance, Delta Dental PPO would only cover 50% for cleanings because they are a "Premier" provider. That meant they charge more than what my insurance allows so I was responsible for 50% for cleaning vs having 100% coverage, and they were in network!!! ... No thank you! Having 4 children forced me to find a new pediatric dentist that I would not have to pay out of pocket for cleanings. Thankfully, a few referrals from my mom group and the positive reviews on Yelp led me to Bay view and I can't say enough. Their practice has been open for 2 years after two wonderful friends/Mompreneurs/Doctors came together and opened Bayview and knew exactly what parents look for in a pediatric dentist. Not only was Dr. Tera and her staff super knowledgeable and friendly, but the office was absolutely beautiful. All the equipment is new and up to date, the office has such a great view of the coast and city, but it's the relaxing pier/strand interior that is calming to my eyes. My kids absolutely loved their 1st visit. The waiting room is clean, and inviting to young children. They have 3 iPads with fun round cushy chairs, a light house play house, a beautiful fish tank, and a stocked keurig machine for the adults. I really enjoyed talking to all of the staff, and Dr. Tera was great with all of my kids. She made them feel so comfortable. After their visit, she consulted with me about each of my children and discussed treatment plans and dental hygiene at home. With my youngest being 15 months, Dr. Tera really showed me the tricks on how to properly brush her teeth. The struggle was real, but now I have the technique down and I really love how I didn't feel rushed. Everyone made us me feel very welcomed especially Julia the front receptionist. The kids got all sorts of goodies on their way out and they got to keep these cute glasses that protected their eyes from the light while sitting in the dental chair. I really love that we ended up here and that they were able to take all 4 of my children at the same time. I'm so relieved I don't have to drive to Torrance anymore. I highly recommend this practice, you can't go wrong.
