Syed A. Khalid, D.D.S., M.S., is a specialist in periodontics who is well trained and experienced in Advanced Bone Grafting Procedures, Conscious IV Sedation, and Implantology. He graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry for both of his Degrees in Dentistry (2008) and Periodontics (2011).
Going above and beyond his advanced training Dr. Khalid continually updates his skillset to offer various treatment modalities that are offered by few others. Incorporating interdisciplinary care is very important to Dr. Khalid working closely with other specialists. Dr. Khalid is one of a limited number of providers locally that perform Wilkodontics procedures to accelerate Orthodontic outcomes for various patients. Dr. Khalid explored and pursued extensive training to become a LANAP-Certified Provider, one of approximately 2,000 dentists in the world. He is the second Board-Certified Periodontist to offer the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique in the Greater Houston Area.
During his free time, Dr. Khalid enjoys spending time with his wife, children, close friends and family. He enjoys sports, music, and is passionate about his profession. He prides himself on patient education and completing treatment at the highest level.

The gum line, and the bone just beneath the gum line, can be lowered to change the appearance of your smile. This can create a more even gum line or make the teeth appear longer. 'Gingival (gum) contouring' is the process of recontouring the gum only. 'Crown lengthening' refers to recontouring of both gum and supporting bone.
Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy, or LAPT for short, is the latest advancement in Periodontal Infection Removal. The Periolase MVP-7 laser uses a specific wavelength that targets and destroys diseased tissue and bacteria from periodontal pockets.
The number of visits required for LAPT is determined on a case by case basis. Upon the completion of any treatment for periodontal disease, more frequent visits are recommended in order to manage the disease process by disrupting bacterial colonizations to prevent further damage to the teeth and supporting structures (bone and gums).

Dr Khalid and his staff were amazing. I had my procedure just this week and I can't even express how thankful I am for everything going smoothly. Dr Khalid talked me through everything and answered any questions I had. He even called me personally the next day to check on me...it's hard to find doctors that do that these days!! Highly recommend!!

I had implant work done about six months ago and didn't think about writing a review concerning the work that was performed. I can't let more time pass without mentioning the quality of work by Dr Khalid. He was excellent and I know that my well-being was paramount to him. I would also like to commend the staff for the kindness and the atmosphere they provided; it was a pleasure that is not often found. I would also like to mention the follow-up phone calls by Dr Khalid and staff; it is almost unheard of nowadays. I have the highest regard and recommendation for Dr Khalid.

I highly recommend Baytown Periodontics! Dr. Khalid and his entire staff were excellent! I was so fearful of having my wisdom tooth removed and they made it a breeze! They were able to get me in quickly and they even called to check on me to make sure everything was healing well in the following days! Plus, they were in network with my insurance! A big bonus! Wonderful experience!

I recently visited Baytown Periodontics for an extensive procedure. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with my experience there. Dr, Khalid and his staff were AWESOME!...and I hate going to the dentist....which is why my procedure was so extensive. When I arrived, the place was very clean, very organized, and the staff was very courteous, and informative. I have to premedicate before dental procedures, and all of that was handled way ahead of time as well. Before the actual procedure began, Dr. Khalid took the time to explain in detail what was gonna happen, what he was hoping would be the final result, and also kept me up to speed as to what was actually taking place as he was doing it. He could tell I was uneasy about the process and he did an excellent job of making me feel comfortable with the procedure. When I left, I was given a bag with my ice-pack, do's & don'ts, and my maintenance for the next few days was also explained in detail. The capper for me was the phone call I received from Dr. Khalid, checking on me. That's was awesome! I have more work to do, and there is no doubt that Dr. Khalid will be doing it. Thanks you to Dr. Khalid and the entire staff!

I highly recommend Dr. Khalid's office! I had surgery on a Friday morning, Dr. Khalid made me feel comfortable and was very caring throughout the procedure and even went above and beyond to call to check on me after surgery. His staff is amazing as well! They are very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. They took the time to explain everything and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole experience.

This office is absolutely amazing. Just had my wisdom teeth out and it went so smoothly. From Jennifer at the front desk who really worked with me for scheduling conflicts and lots of information to Jennifer my dental assistant who did literally everything to ease my major anxiety. I was very nervous getting this done and they were so kind and helped relieve my stress. Dr. Khalid was also very nice and made sure to communicate with me and reach out after the surgery. This is probably one of the best offices in Baytown, I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

My experience was excellent. I was well cared for by Ashleigh and by Dr. Khalid with attention to both my physical comfort and nervousness. I have very little post-procedure discomfort. At my consultation, everything was explained in detail and the costs were clearly listed and defined. An overall positive experience.
