I suffer from extreme dental anxiety and recently had some teeth pulled. I could not find an oral surgeon to put me under sedation for the procedure even though they have in the past, so I had my regular dentist office do it with laughing gas. Unfortunately for me the gas did not work but fortunately for me Dr Howen and Mary we're absolutely wonderful and did a great job keeping me as calm as I could be given the circumstances and talked me through the whole ordeal. The staff gets 5 the review gets 4 only because of the laughing gas not working effectively, which was not the staffs fault. I'm glad to have the traumatic event over and will most definitely continue to use the Sturbridge baystate dental office for not only all my dental needs but my daughters as well. Thank you

Baystate dental in Sturbridge is great, from Judy the office manager, to all the other front office people, the Dental hygienists, and especially Dr. Howen. Fees are fair, everyone is very personable, and Dr. Howen in all my years seeing dentists, is the best dentist ever. Friendly, listens, and most importantly, I never feel ANY pain during a procedure. I had my second crown here, and the overall experience was night and day compared to my previous crown; from the reception, to the assistant to the dentist. The anesthesia for this crown was a simple pinch and I felt nothing after- great job!

Switched dental offices since I couldn't bare driving like 25 minutes to Worcester anymore and this dental office is 10 minutes away from my house. Best decision I ever made to switch dental offices and choose this one. Absolutely love this office and the kind staff who work here.

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They helped me understand the billing and payment process. The people who took my x-rays and worked with me before I saw the dentist were fantastic and friendly. I never felt pressured or talked down to. Once the dentist came in, they explained everything they saw going on with me and explained the possible course of treatment for me. There was no pressure to take a certain route it was all up to me. I came here on a coworkers recommendation, and I'm glad I listened. Overall, a great experience, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend Baystate Dental Sturbridge! Very very friendly and professional! I'm one that is terrified of dental work, and this place felt like home to me while educating me on how they do things today compared to years ago! The staff were very nice to me and made me feel comfortable!

I have to believe a lot of these reviews are fake given my experience at this office. I scheduled a cleaning, however called after a CT scan indicated tooth infections on both sides of my mouth and I was advised to get a dental appointment immediately. The receptionist had difficulty understanding why I needed an emergency appointment, however did eventually schedule it. I later found out she canceled my cleaning, expecting it to be done at the new appointment, which it was not, so my cleaning was pushed out. The hygienist, Jennifer, appeared uncaring and did not appear to care about some underlying medical issues that may be occuring with me and impact treatment. The dentist was unable to read the CT scan and did not appear to understand the write up from the scan that indicated the infection. He focused on one side of my mouth, ignoring the infection on the other until I insisted he look at it. He was very unsure of what was causing the infection (continued to question why I thought I had infections and I had to keep referring to the CT scan) and recommended a root canal, and if that failed, take the tooth out. He did not seem confident at all. An x-ray was done on the other side, but he decided he was too busy to look at it before I left and I did not receive a follow-up call to inform me if anything was wrong. Fast forward to a scheduled cleaning this week. Same hygienist and dentist. I expressed concern with doing additional X-rays given a lot of exposure from other treatment I am receiving. She was not understanding, didn't take the time to care or discuss, and presented as rude and not compassionate at all. She said I had to get X-rays or no cleaning, despite having X-rays within the last year and additional ones a month ago. The dentist comes in and I hear him tell her it's fine if I had them within a year. She whispered to him, then he tells me I have to have X-rays or no cleaning. Both tried to say it was the law ( not office policy, but the law) and refused to have a discussion about my medical concerns, etc. Needless to say, I decided to leave and Jennifer snickered at me and said it was good I was leaving. I was not escalated during these conversations, upset, but not yelling or anything. I did tell her she was being rude and her response was that I was rude while she stormed off. Very unprofessional behavior. I did speak to the office manager on the way out and had a very calm conversation. She said she would speak to Jennifer, but I felt like this is probably typical behavior from this office and wasn't going to be truly addressed. I also overheard an encounter between the receptionist and an elderly person when I checked in. Clear all they cared about was getting payment and wasn't understanding she just opened a new account and didn't have the physical checks yet and was impatient when she tried to dig through her wallet for other payment methods. I would read all of the negative reviews for this office before deciding to go. $ seems to be the only thing important.

So far very happy with their services, I had a root canal and need a few fillings. The dentist has been very nice explaining things. The receptionist Hannah has been excellent and very quick to help me with all my questions and extra requests! She deserves extra recognition :)
