They were very professional and they took their time to make sure my partial fit just right and they did a fantastic job of it , I would recommend them to anyone who asks about a good dentist and they made sure I recieved any discounts that they could provide , they have it over Aspen dental which I went to and I had a bad experience Aspen dental only cares about the all mighty dollar , stay away from them , great job Baystate

Dangerous. The arrogance of this office, especially the office manager, is so bad that they prefer to risk your health rather than admit they made a mistake. After being seen by a specialist and speaking with my primary care doctor, I am reassured that I was correct in feeling unsafe in the judgment this office used. This office based their treatment plan for me on 1 xray and no oral exam, they didn't even compare the xray to any of my old records.

I'll probably never look forward to a dentist appointment -- does anybody? -- but since I started going to Baystate I can say that now I don't mind it. They approach their work with kindness, attentiveness, and a just the right dose of humor. If the thought of going to the dentist gives you anxiety, you should check them out.

UPDATE 3 (FINAL/TLDR): Going here is one of my biggest regrets. I would not recommend this office to anyone on Earth. Following my fillings at Baystate Dental, I developed severe pain and sensitivity that had not existed before. Now, less than 4 months after this treatment, I am in need of a root canal and crown. At my Baystate appointment 4 months ago, there was no reason that I would have needed a root canal. This all developed afterwards and will cost me at least $2500 out of pocket, seeing as my new insurance will not cover major services for another year. In my opinion, going to Baystate Dental is the worst thing you can do for your teeth. UPDATE 2, as of 10/30/22: One of the treated teeth has developed an abscess (I floss daily. I am very proactive about my oral hygiene). I went to urgent care and was prescribed antibiotics for ten days, although it hasn't made a difference. There is deep pressure around the root of my tooth, to the point where I am very numb in some areas. As soon as I see a new dentist I will make my last update that will explain in detail the damage that was done and the steps necessary to repair it. UPDATE: The manager of Baystate Dental did contact me and tell me they would attempt to help me out. She did tell me to use a heating pad instead of an icepack, which was good to know. I was told she would call me again the following Tuesday about solutions seeing as I live in another state now-- the move was planned before my dental appointment and I was so relieved to be able to get it over with before I lost dental insurance-- but the manager did not call me back. I called the office Thursday and was told she was in a meeting and would get back to me. I called again hours later and was told she had left the office. I was given the email for the regional manager and told to contact him. After 6 days I received a two sentence response telling me they are "unbale" to do anything for me. I will be looking into my other options regarding my experience here seeing as I will apparently be paying out of pocket for damage/mistakes made by a dentist at this office. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got some cavities filled here 2 months ago. The sensitivity never went away, it's only gotten worse. I can constantly feel part of one of the fillings on the back of my tooth. I also got lockjaw twice during the process even though I told them I had TMJ-- they were clearly rushing and did not want to wait for me to recover before making me reopen my mouth and continue the process. I was in tears and slept with an icepack for two nights. My jaw soreness has been constant since then and sometimes debilitating whereas before it was only slightly bothersome in certain circumstances. My teeth hurt all the time. I know I'll be paying out of pocket for expensive procedures to fix my teeth that were likely drilled too deeply and that my TMJ will only continue to worsen for the rest of my life. I don't know what to do.

I really like this dental office! My favorite part is my hygienist, John. He does a great job, he's very thorough, and most of all he's very friendly which means a lot to me because I'm usually afraid of the dentist. I'm so glad they take my Mass Health!

I can't say enough about Dr. Veley and DA, Pauline. I'm usually phobic with dentists, but this has dissipated as Dr. Veley is very calming and so proficient in numbing that I've rarely felt any pain in my many recent visits with some rather complicated dental issues. Pauline is so caring and professional and has been consistently fantastic listening to my concerns on my treatment plan and has gone out of her way to ensure things are expedited smoothly. Carly at the front desk is a pleasure as well. Grateful to have had a lot of pretty intensive work done here and am happy to be a patient here.

When I first joined this dental practice I liked how friendly everyone was. My first appointment with x-rays and such went well. My 2nd appointment I forgot about taking antibiotics beforehand. Totally my fault, but as a new cardiac patient, it was an easily understandable Oops. The supervisor gave me a hard time and said it would be a no show if it happened again. One of the receptionists offered to add a reminder to my confirmation text. When I called to remind them to add it , I was given a hard time..Basically insinuating that it isn't their responsibility to remind or ask at appointment if I had taken them. My next appointment the dentist refused to do because someone hadn't scheduled enough time. Literally just left the room. No sorry, no nothing. Finally get my temporary cap done and my face swelled up with horrible bruising. I looked like I'd been hit with a shovel. Luckily it was when masks were mandatory so I hid my face when in public. The bruising was from under my eye to below my jaw. Permanent cap was made too big. Dentist insisted my original tooth stuck out as far as the cap..I'm pretty sure I would have noticed a molar that was half an inch bigger than the rest of my teeth. They rescheduled my next appointment because 2 of 3 dentists quit.. I finally go in and the male dentist was acting kind of creepy. Wouldn't stop touching my arm, wanted to use the wring kind of numbing agent, asked for advice on a plastic surgeon to fix his belly button..and said I was going to get put to sleep if I asked questions. I left. Now I'm finding out that they removed me from the practice without telling me.. Do not recommend at all Receptionists are mad and said I was lying about the dentist , because they like

I've been a patient/client here for several years. I always feel that I am treated well, respectfully and fairly. Today, I had more extensive treatment. I had the first phase of a cap, which meant lots of grinding. There was a lot of debris from bone and an old filling. From past treatment in my life, I just accepted that I'd feel clogs of debris in my mouth, too much water/saliva accumulating, and in general, just a mess of my own saliva all over my face and no empathy from the people treating me. Not so today. Not at all. Bay State Belchertown always takes good care of me, but truly, I felt like Dr. Velez and Pauline have cracked some kind of code to make a patient feel relaxed and in good hands. They worked well together; they obviously respected each other's professional roles, and they also wanted me to have a good experience. I did. I felt calm. I felt confident in their abilities. I can't begin to express how much that meant to me. Thank you.

I have never had a better experience than at Baystate Dental!!!! I went in for a crown and notified them of another chip that I had. Instead of scheduling me another appointment, Dr. Lopez, prepped that tooth also!!!! I was in the chair for about 1.5 hours and never felt uncomfortable. Dr. Lopez and Casey made this a GREAT experience!!!!

I have had only good experiences at Bay State Dental in Belchertown in the 12 years I've been a patient. The 2 tooth 'emergencies' I had - they were able to see me within a few hours of my call. And everyone, from reception, to the hygienists, to the doctors themselves are friendly, personable and most importantly, they listen to and address any questions or concerns I have had.

I've always had a fear of going to the dentist until this practice! Dr. Velez and DA Zuri are kind and personable. I have never felt judged and everyone is always incredibly gentle. (I rarely ever feel the novocaine shots!) I highly recommend for folks who have dental anxiety!
