Dr. Patel's professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Association of Women Dentists. After graduating from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelors degree in biology, she continued her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. Dr. Patel received the Presidents Leadership Award while in dental school, and she completed an advanced education residency in general dentistry in 2008.
