Dr. Sarah Bao is a Maryland native originally from Germantown, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology. She received her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. The following year, she completed an advanced education General Practice Residency Program at Abington-Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bao joined Dr. Gens at Bay Hills Family Dentistry in 2020. She strongly believes in providing a safe and compassionate environment for her patients and is committed to patient health, patient-centered care, and aesthetic dentistry. She is excited to serve our patients at Bay Hills Family Dentistry and work with them to reach their oral health goals.
Dr. Bao is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. She is dedicated to continuing her education through the curriculum of Spear Education and local study clubs. She is also passionate about dental volunteerism and has been active with Mission of Mercy Projects and other outreach programs since 2011.
Dr. Ryan Gens was born and raised in the Annapolis area. He graduated from Bucknell University and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He joined Bay Hills Family Dentistry in 2017 when Dr. Jay De Pol retired. Dr. Gens and his team share the philosophy of caring and gentle dentistry in a family-oriented environment.
Dr. Gens is passionate about continuing education and taking additional dental courses to better serve the Arnold, Annapolis and Severna Park area. At University of Maryland, he was selected for the Oral Surgery Clerkship and received an award for Implantology. Since graduating, Dr. Gens has spent hundreds of hours locally and traveling across the country to attend national seminars in oral surgery, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, sedation, and more. He has volunteered with dental mission trips to bring free dental care to underserved communities.
Dr. Gens is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), an award only six percent of general dentists have earned. He is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Dental Association. He participates in local study clubs to stay connected with other area dentists and discuss the latest techniques and technologies.
