Bay Area Denture and Surgery Center is a general dental practice with an emphasis on oral surgery, and third molar also known as wisdom teeth extractions, custom-made dentures, partials, M.D.I. mini-implants, athletic mouth guards for sports activities and sleep apnea devices. We have our own, on-site laboratory to craft your custom dental appliances in-house.
Our practice was founded in 1999 by Dr. Victor Firmani and, upon his retirement in May of 2013, his associate, Doctor Dennis Van Maren, purchased the practice. Dr. Van Maren has helped tens of thousands of patients feel and look better for over 25 years. He honorably served over 20 years in the United States Army and Air Force and has Commanded 3 Dental Clinics and 1 Hospital, as well as mentoring over 40 junior dentists before retiring at the rank of Colonel. Working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, both in the military and in private practice, is his passion. He enjoys being able to put patients at ease, and the smile on their face when they love their new smile!

Recently retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force, Dr. Dennis Van Maren has practiced dentistry for over 25 years. During his military service, he served as the Commander of three dental clinics and one hospital, providing general and advanced dentistry services to patients of all ages while mentoring and supervising over 40 junior dentists.
Dr. Van Maren completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency and received advanced training in Oral Surgery, Oral and Intravenous Sedation, Dentures, Implants and Wisdom Teeth Removal, during his many years in the service, Dr. Van Maren has completed over 2000 hours of Continuing Education. He is also a veteran member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Nueces County Dental Society.

Worst place to go I went to get teeth fixed left with a pulled tooth paste twice for one cause they don't know how to say no, and they left tooth fragments inside and I went back to remove it he left me another hole in my mouth and he was upset cause he had to do it for free

Went in to get a replacement denture done, had a great experience with Doctor and Staff, my experience was the Best. I have never had to go back for any adjustments. Even though I did get free adjustment for 3 months after receiving my dentures.

The girls are nice enough but my husband and I both want to throw our new dentures in the trash. Very disappointed and we would have to pay them to fix them at this point because they didn't listen. Just going to come out of pocket and go somewhere else now. Update. After this review they called us in for another adjustment. They still outright ignored my main issue and did nothing but make them worse than they were before. I can't eat anything with these in and am more self conscious than I was when I had vampire teeth.

I went there last year for dentures and all was ok,until it came time for my dentures. The bottom set didn't fit my mouth and they kept insisting that I was at fault and wasn't closing my mouth correctly. I finally went to another dentist to see what they thought. I was right, the bottom set wasn't even made for my mouth. I had to have another surgery to remove all the bones he left in my mouth and of course it cost me. When I called their office to tell them, they said ok. If I had not called them, they weren't even interested in calling me and asking why I had not been back for my fitting. I explained the problem and was told I would receive some of my money back. That was about 6 months ago and not a word from them or a refund. Do not go there

Dr.Van Maren did not read my chart properly,therefore prescribed the wrong medication,si I was in TREMENDOS pain,because I had 3 teeth pulled and was not able to get my pain meds . So if you go there, make sure you double check any meds they prescribe before leaving the office

Dr. Van is so nice. I feel like he actually cares about the well being of his patients and really works hard to give them amazing results. I had a bridge and it came out even better than I was expecting. Karen was amazing and I have nothing bad to say about her at all. Now I have teeth and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. They are really a good group of people and they do an even better job with their work. :)

Dr. Dennis Van Maren has been an excellent dentist. I have visited the office for dental check-up and he found a cavity on one side of my wisdom teeth. I was worried about the pain and etc. The surgery was done correctly without much complications by Dr Van Maren. The staffs were also friendly at this office. (This experience based on year 2018).

These people do not deserve one star worst place my husband and I have ever been! First of all it took them over two months to make my husband's dentures then they broke eight months later! They refuse to fix them without more money paid to them which we had already paid them too much! Now over three years later out of the blue they send us another bill for almost $1000 because they did not bill our insurance like they were supposed to! They owe us money for reimbursement from our insurance company because they fell To bill our insurance company in the time they were supposed to. I could go on about how terrible this place truly is but I'm forewarning you don't go there they will take advantage of you and your insurance and do nothing but cause problems!

I am very pleased with how Dr. Van Maren repaired a very serious problem I have suffered with for many years. His staff was kind and efficient. My husband and I intend to return to Bay Area Denture Center for all our dental needs.

I want to thank Dr.Van Maren, and all his wonderful staff they make you feel very calm and very friendly. I went in for oral surgery 2 weeks ago when I got there his staff made me feel very calm and were so carrying, I had 22 extractions that day, Dr. Van Maren did a wonderful job I had no pain not even when I got home, I would have thought I would have been in so much pain afterwards especially with 22 extractions, and a mouth full of stiches, but never had pain Dr. Van Maren did an excellent job, he even took the time to call that evening to check up on me. I recommended Dr.Van Maren and his staff to anyone, Thank you Dr. Van Maren and staff for being so kind and friendly, but especially for giving me my smile back.

I do not recommend this place! My implants came out a month after being put in. When he was putting the implant in he ask the assistant for a certain size implant that he needed and she replied, we are out of that size so he told her just give me whatever we have. Less than a month later it fell out. I am now going to go to a different dentist and pay again to have the work done correctly. Then sue this place to recover the cost. I have attached some photos of the kind of work you can expect if you go here.

The dentist even called me few hours later to check on me! Mind you I could barley talk lol but he reminded me for the 3rd time what I could and couldn't eat etc. very carrying people would recommend them to anyone.
