Dr. Patel earned his Dental Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine, and residency in Dental Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University of Southern California. He completed his Anesthesiology Fellowship at Riverside County General Hospital. In 1998, Dr. Patel helped establish Central California Dental Surgery Center in Atwater, CA, while building his private practice. In 2004, Dr. Patel developed and built Salida Surgery Center and their doors opened in 2005 where he is the Medical Director. Over the years, Dr. Patel has provided General Anesthesia to thousands of children and adults including children with Special Needs. In addition, he has worked to increase access to care for the under-served population of California by providing much-needed dental care. Dr. Patel is active in the community and in many dental organizations. Dr. Patel is a current member of the ADA, CDA, ADSA, and SJDS. In 2017, Dr. Patel became the President of the San Joaquin Dental Society.
Dr. Patel graduated from the University of The Pacific, School of Dentistry in 1992 and opened his first practice in Hemet, California, after several successful years, opened another practice across town. In 2005, he went into partnership to open Salida Surgery Center. Dr Patel began working at Salida Surgery Center part-time in the latter part of 2007 and decided to make it full-time by the end of 2008. In 2009, Dr. Patel opened Bay Area Dental Surgery Center in Milpitas, California. Dr. Patel is a member of ADA, CDA, Tri-County Dental Association, I Indian Dental Association, and the San Joaquin County Dental Society.
Dr. Kishan Patel prides himself on educating patients, friends, and the community by helping them increase their dentalawareness and IQ. Although many dentists may tell you what you need, Dr. Kishan will take the necessary time to arm you with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions and develop excellent home care habits.Dr. Kishan understands that each patient is an individual, and each individual will have their own unique plan on their way to dental success. He was exposed to dentistry at an early age with a father and uncle both in the dental field. He relocated to Northern California for his undergraduate degree at Santa Clara University, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Art History. After completing his undergraduate degree, he spent a year off following his passion for education, working in the Bay Area tutoring high school students in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. He completed his dental training in San Francisco at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.Dr. Kishan is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Sharifi graduated from The University of Toronto, College of Dentistry in 2008. She worked as a dentist for several years and then went onto obtain her Dental Anesthesia credentials from Saint Barnabas Hospital where she graduated in 2016. Dr. Sharifi started working here at Bay Area Dental Surgery Center in 2016 and then with our sister surgery center in Salida, CA in 2017. Dr. Sharifi is a member of American Dental association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), & San Jose Dental Society.
Dr. Belli decided to change careers in 2003 and graduated from The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2008. Having a passion for medicine and physiology she received her Anesthesia credentials from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY in 2011. Upon returning to California in 2011 she began working in the childrens surgery center environment and joined Bay Area Dental Surgery Center in 2016 and with our sister surgery center in Salida, CA in 2018. She is a current member of the ADA, CDA, ASDA, ADSA and CDSA.
Dr. Brenda Thomas-Pugh, a CDA member, graduated from Lone Mountain College in San Francisco, with a BA in Biology and went on to attend UCSF Dental school, where she received a BS in science and her DDS. There she was awarded the Flemings Humanitarian scholarship for her work in the San Francisco Bay Area of Hunters Point community.Dr. Thomas-Pugh was one of two graduating seniors in Dental school that choose Community Dentistry as her specialty and has since acquired a wide array of experience from treating special needs children at Highland Hospital, Dental Director of Fairmont Hospital, Community Dentist at Eastmont Dental Clinic, all located in the Bay Area. She has had over a decade of working in various Dental Surgery Centers.Her love of children led to her role as a dental consultant for Smiles Unlimited Children Program, where she served for many years. She provided voluntary dental screenings for elementary school children on the Colgate Dental Van a couple times a year.Providing dentistry for children is her lifes work and as a Mother and a Grandmother, her goal through each patient encounter is to treat every child as if they were her own and make a difference in the lives she is privileged to serve.
We treat patients from 18 months to 12 years of age (Special Needs patients up to age 15, *case by case basis). Services are all administered under general anesthesia and include cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, crowns, and pulpotomies (root canals on baby teeth). We do not treat adult root canals.

The worse dental place ever - DO NOT ever go to them - it takes their office more than 2 months to get an appointment and it's because the people there don't like to do their job. They're not on top of things and they lie to cover their bases. I wouldn't trust this place at all.

We had a terrible experience here. The dentists are arrogant, unprofessional, and unskilled. We had dental work done on our 3 year old, and afterwards my baby could not even close her mouth! My child spoke with a lisp, drooled, and couldn't chew food properly because she couldn't close her mouth all the way. When we went back to have it corrected we were told that our baby's teeth were always like that. Utterly preposterous! When we explained to the dentist that our child was having these problems he stood up and told us to take our child somewhere else then. This is the worst experience weve ever had with any medical/dental facility. We would highly suggest finding a more professional, skilled, and caring place to take your children.

Worst place ever! For one I can sue this place due to when a child is on Anastasia they should be in recovery room for 1 hour before discharged. They literally give you ur child still under Anastasia and asleep.! Not how you are suppose to do it . my poor big kid I had to carry out mind u he is as tall as me and 80 pounds . I am a small person he was freaking out and trying to drive home while ur kid is crying freaking out that he cant see and trying to unbuckle himself and get out of the car seat while on the freeway is hard!! I do not recommend this place! The anesthesiologist is very rude and will literally just stick ur kid with a shot. Will not even give u a second to calm them down.

Very professional. The receptionist is very nice, polite and smiley. You are going to spend several hours there so plan accordingly to keep you and your child entertained. The waiting room could use some new furniture.

Took my 2 year old , I was freaking out because of the reviews on Yelp . The receptionist was very nice, yet the anesthesiologist was so f#@@$! Rude. She hadn't even introduced herself and was already making a rude comment about how my daughter had a onesie on. Then when it came time for the injection, she has no patience whatsoever, my daughter was freaking out and she just jammed the needle into her arm ! I'm so glad it's all over! Never again do I want to come near this place.
