Dr. Doug Baum is an Orange County orthodontist who has been creating beautiful smiles for over 20 years. Dr. Baum received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College on a presidential scholarship. He then attended Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Baum was commissioned in the US Navy Dental Corps and was awarded an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Naval Dental Center Southwest, San Diego. Upon completion of his AEGD residency, Dr. Baum was placed on operational duty with the United States Marines, Camp Pendleton. While at Camp Pendleton, Dr. Baum was head of operative dentistry-School of Infantry and was awarded the Navy/Marine Corps achievement medal for his exemplary service and care of his Marines and Navy sailors.

After practicing general dentistry for five years, Dr. Baum was given the opportunity to become a specialist in Orthodontics. He returned to his dental training roots and attended Indiana School of Dentistry to obtain his orthodontic specialty training and a Master of Science degree in dentistry. While attending orthodontic residency, Dr. Baum was awarded a Delta Dental grant for his research. Dr. Baum is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (Board Certified) which less than 50% of all practicing orthodontists have obtained.

On a personal note, Dr. Baum is married to his beautiful wife, Melissa, a dental hygienist in the local community. They both feel blessed to have an amazing daughter, Payton. When hes not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Baum is playing in multiple softball leagues, sailing the seas, cheering for the Ducks, and exercise/cross-fit. We know youre going to love Dr. Baum.

Dr. Kelly Nguyen is an orthodontist who grew up in Orange County. Dr. Kelly attended UC Berkeley and majored in Nutritional Sciences. She then went on to complete her dental education at UCLA. Her educational journey continued at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, where she became a specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. After weathering the harsh winter storms, she was excited to move back to sunny California. As a native of Southern California, she has come full circle and now resides in Tustin. Dr. Nguyen is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (Board Certified) which less than 50% of all practicing orthodontists have obtained.

Outside of the office, Dr. Kelly enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. She also stays active by practicing yoga, hiking, and running. Dr. Kelly is engaged to Dr. Henry, an Orange County general dentist. She is excited to be a part of the Villa Park Smiles family.
