Dr. Matthew Bauer is a 2003 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He then went on to earn his Masters in Orthodontics at St. Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Bauer has since returned to join the clinical orthodontic faculty at St. Louis University.
Dr. Bauer is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, and the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation. In 2008, Dr. Bauer completed the Roth/Williams Center for Advanced Education in Orthodontics course in functional occlusion. Since that time he has also become a member of the Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontics as well as the Roth Study Club International. Dr. Bauer is also a Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics.

We are lucky to have the opportunity to work with some of the most caring and intelligent staff in the area. Each member of our team is constantly being trained and made up to date on the most recent technologies. Dr. Bauer encourages and supports the continuing education of each team member.
Debbie is our financial coordinator and has been with Dr. Bauer since April 2011. Debbie is married with two daughters, and has four grandchildren. In her spare time Debbie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Amanda has been working in the orthodontic field since 2010 and loves every minute of it. Her knowledge and experience truly allows her to stand out at Bauer Orthodontics. Her lively and spirited disposition brightens everybodys day. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and being surrounded by family and friends.
Treatment Coordinator, joined Bauer Orthodontics in 2015. She enjoys meeting with new patients, helping them understand the ins and outs of orthodontic treatment. When not in the office, she spends time with her husband and three daughters and two grandchildren.
Megan has been a part of the Bauer team since 2018. She enjoys being one of the first to welcome our patients to the office and helping to get them started on their orthodontic journey. You will find Megan at the front desk always greeting our patients with a smile. She enjoys spending time with her husband, and four daughters.
Melissa has been in the dental field since 2013. She loves every part of her job, especially being able to help create new smiles. When not adding her own extra smile to the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and playing with her fur babies, Blake and Caine.
Ashley first entered the orthodontic field in 2018. If Ashley is not working hard behind the scenes in the lab, you can find her in the clinic where she loves helping patients transform their smiles! In her free time, she loves going to the gym, and all things outdoors with her husband, Luke.
Kendall joined the Bauer team in 2021. She loves that Bauer Ortho feels like a family, not just a workplace. When Kendall is not working, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew.
Melissa has been in the orthodontic field since 2020 and joined the Bauer team in 2021. Her favorite part of ortho is debond day, and helping make our patient's smiles beautiful. When Melissa is not in the office, she loves going on adventures with her son, Kayson.

Since our children have been patients of Dr. Bauers, our family is very pleased with the service we receive. After taking my child to another orthodontist for many years, and with one child still in braces, we were a little nervous when we needed to change doctors. Dr. Bauer and the office sta have been wonderful throughout this transition and are highly recommended by our family!
As an adult seeing Dr. Bauer and as a parent of a patient I really appreciate how well the office is run. Dr. Bauer has really taken the time to explain the treatment process regarding the issues I have had with the joint in my jaw bone. He is thorough and I am already seeing more progress in just the past three months than I did with years of previous orthodontist care.
I have had jaw pain for the last 10 years. The pain continued to worsen and I couldnt sleep or eat on my right side due to my jaw pain. Dr. Bauer was so helpful in explaining what the problem was. It has been only three weeks with my splint and my jaw is 100% better. Dr. Bauers expertise and skills are excellent for patients with jaw and joint problems. I am very confident in his treatment.
Bauer Orthodontics is the most caring and professional orthodontic office I have ever seen or heard of. They genuinely care about their patients. The place is kept very clean and has a good positive energy! All the staff is super friendly & Dr. Bauer definitely knows what he is doing. I am so glad I went to his office to find the best treatment for my smile!

As a high schooler, I had problems with TMJ and lockjaw. When I began my search for an orthodontist for my 2 sons there were many to choose from in the area. An important aspect that set Bauer Orthodontics apart from others was the fact that Dr. Bauer practices Roth/Williams Treatment. Dr. Bauer corrects the bite as well as aligns the teeth for an attractive smile. So, for the Roth/Williams doctor, orthodontics is a health service as well as a cosmetic one. Dr. Bauer and the Roth/Williams Philosophy believe a major key to the long-term health and stability of the entire chewing system is the proper relationships of the teeth, jaw joints, and muscles. I cannot agree more and am thankful we found Bauer Orthodontics. We had a wonderful experience throughout the treatment program. Dr. Bauer is the best! He is knowledgeable, talented, and personable. The whole Bauer Team is skilled, caring, friendly, punctual, welcoming & helpful. Their prices were competitive, the office was very clean and the office visits were less frequent than most others which was a huge timesaver. My sons enjoyed the member appreciation nights @ trampoline parks & really liked the Bauer Bucks rewards program. Such a neat cooperation incentive! Dr Bauer has treated three of us in our household. He is thorough, patient, and his tram is delightful. And given his "until it's done right," his pricing is fair. No getting hit with extra charges or hidden fees. Would highly recommend their office.

Friendly staff, comfortable and inviting office, and wonderful orthodontic care given by Matthew Bauer. Every step of this process was explained to my daughter as needed and she loved the independence of checking in and handling the procedures and appointments on her own. Highly recommend!

Bauer Orthodontics treated me as an adult with TMJ and severe jaw pain. They were able to quickly take me on as a patient and remedy my pain with a splint that was adjusted weekly or biweekly. He worked over the next few weeks to perfect my jaw comfort and to correct bite. I then had braces put on to finish properly aligning my jaw and bite. Each visit the staff was accommodating, professional, and safely cared for me. They went above and beyond to care for me as an adult in braces. I am incredibly pleased with my finished results and can smile knowing I had great care. I have never had an episode of pain or discomfort at all!! Thank you! We have now had three of our children in braces at Bauer and have experienced amazing results! Highly recommend Bauer orthodontics.

Dr. Bauer has treated our two oldest children. He has exceptional bedside manner and expertise, his entire staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable, and the office is run like a well-oiled machine. Our children's smiles are gorgeous!! We could not be more pleased with Bauer Orthodontics. We will definitely be bringing our other children to his office when the time comes. Thank you, Dr. Bauer!!

Bauer Orthodontics has been great and very helpful for my family. I have five girls and three have completed their orthodontic work with great success. I have two more and look forward to having my other daughters complete their orthodontic work. Bauer has always been upfront and honest. My older daughters enjoy having straighten teeth and have not worried about any further work needed in the future. Bauer has been outstanding and I would highly recommend Bauer Orthodontics to any one needing work done on the teeth.

The care and service are exceptional here. We have had adult braces, early braces for our younger children, and more advanced orthodontia for our older children and all along have received high quality care with warm and welcoming patience service. The building is fun and very clean, the staff is personable and helpful, and Dr. Bauer is very knowledgeable and passionate. Our wait time has always been short, which the kids usually hate because they love the juice boxes and games in the waiting room. I highly recommend!

Really disappointed in their lack of precautionary procedures/respect for covid or just any illness spread concern at all. For someone to be getting into my mouth so I have to remove my mask, I do not want to be anywhere there are SICK people working (coughing, sneezing A LOT) and some workers not even wearing masks or the ones that are wearing them dont have them over their nose properly. With all that said, and if you dont care about the masks protection as I know some dont, the office staff and Dr were all exceptionally nice and thorough in explaining and answering all my questions.

We have had an incredible experience with Dr. Bauer! He has done braces for our oldest 2 kids and we will bringing our youngest to him as well! We have had great results! The staff is incredibly professional and friendly. They have been super accommodating with scheduling as well! I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am in this office. During a pandemic, they refuse to mandate mask wearing in the office. My son had his braces placed and was almost finished. However, after seeing an unmasked person walking around the office, we are now going to Bankhead Orthodontics (which DOES have a mask mandate for their office). I begged the office manager and Dr. Bauer to institute a mask mandate. I was repeatedly told they COULD NOT. I assured them they COULD. Today, the office manager changed her story and said Dr. Bauer WOULD NOT because it wasn't mandated in St. Charles County. Completely irresponsible and dangerous.

We love Dr. Bauer! Not only has he treated our children but also my husband! Great for children and adults! His great bedside manner, staff , knowledge and -of course- perfect smiles are why we continue to send all our children. I love how he starts treatment early so that we could be proactive vs reactive in the teenage years!

We LOVE Dr.Bauer!!!! He has treated 2 of my children, my husband & currently myself!!! He & his entire staff are so professional & caring!! They are extremely accommodating with appointments (I've forgotten a few), Dr.Bauer's office is run so efficiently , it's clean, & organized & everyone is always so polite & happy! As an adult getting braces I was super nervous about the the whole thing, but Dr.Bauer was nothing but gracious & kind & patient with my many questions!! I highly recommend Bauer Orthodontics, I would never even consider going anywhere else!! Thank you Dr.Bauer!!!

Amazing office. Friendly and personable staff, clean and safe environment. Dr. Bauer and his staff took such great care of our daughter (age 10) throughout the entire process. Always patient and answering her (and our) questions with genuine and easy-to-understand responses. By far, one of the best experiences we've ever had with a professional office of any kind.
