Dr. Bates graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wofford College and later attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he earned his DMD degree with high honors.

This office is phenomenal. The office is nice and inviting from the moment you walk in. All of the staff is very friendly and personable. My son is a new patient and was a little leary. He tends to get a little anxious going to any health provider. The staff made him feel comfortable. His braces were put on with no worries. This is perhaps one of the best offices we have been to. I was pleasantly pleased and glad I chose them for my son's orthodontic needs. I would highly recommend Bates Orthodontics!

Bates orthodontics is an amazing place! Dr Bates has been in charge of braces for our entire family. He has always made my children feel at ease. His staff is amazing! They know our names and always deliver service with a smile. They never try to add on unnecessary services and They always explain the next step of the plan in a way that is easy to understand. I recommend Bates orthodontics for all orthodontic needs.

I chose Bates Braces for my adult Invisalign after consulting with various offices in the area. Dr. Bates and his team made me feel welcome, comfortable, and truly cared for. They offered appointments that fit my schedule and were always friendly and professional. The offices are extremely clean and thoughtfully decorated. I could not imagine a better experience. If/when my children need orthodontics, I will only use Bates Braces. Look no further than this team for your orthodontic needs.

Ava was so nervous and anxious when we arrived but the Bates Orthodontics team made sure her experience was a positive one. We received excellent customer service from consult to treatment.

We were referred by my dentist, Faryl Hart for vraces. I can't say enough nice things about this place. There is even a therapy dog for anxious kids to keep distracted. Everything was explained thoroughly and they have in house financing which helps a lot. I can't say my daughter enjoys going but I am highly impressed with the friendly staff and in less than 6 mon t hs her teeth are very noticably straighter.

We had a great experience today at Bates Orthodontist! My daughter got braces and Taniqua was amazing. She really made my daughter feel comfortable and explained everything in detail.

I love everyone in the office. You are always greeted with a positive attuited from all of the staff. Kim and Taniqua are my favorite. Dr. Bates is supper wonderful, he explain everything in details and make sure you understand and don't mind explaining again to make sure you understand. Let not forget about Scout, I adore Scout. Dr.Ghowsi is very kind and knowledgeable.

Bates be in & out plus I had 4 visits in one month . 30minute drive for silly things like to "check on the braket". I feel like they could've ordered & did everything in one day. Maybe it's for the money . 4 visits in one month is overwhelming. I see no difference in the teeth

I absolutely love Bates Orthodontics! Everyone is so wonderful and super nice. I feel very comfortable with the self-ligating clear braces, the rubbers, and everything that goes with this process. This is my first time getting braces, and so far I've had the best experience! I'm not able to get colors due to my job, and they have been very understanding and cooperative with keeping everything transparent. I am so happy with my decision to go to Bates Orthodontics, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is interested.

This was the most professional, expedited and friendly experience I've ever had with an orthodontist office. The front desk is extremely responsive and helpful - I was able to connect with someone and schedule an appointment immediately. The text messaging feature to communicate, request appointments, and ask questions is super helpful. The office was beautiful and clean I am happy to have found this great team!!!
