Sandy is the voice that greets you to our office and takes care of all of your scheduling, insurance, and billing needs. Sandy began her career in dentistry with Dr. Steve Bates. She spent her first 12 years in dentistry working with him before he sold his dental practice. She credits her vision of exemplary dental care; treating patients with utmost care and integrity, as a lesson that she has carried with her from her experiences with Dr. Steve. She is pleased to note that Dr. Brady Bates shares those same values and is excited to be back working with the Bates Family at

I had an appointment for my 6 months teeth cleaning today. As always, I was greeted by Sandy, who always welcomes me with a smile. Then I had Samantha, who did my teeth cleaning. She is very nice to talk to. She did a great job, as always. Then Dr. Bates came in and checked my teeth. He is the best dentist. Everyone at Bates Dental is very professional and very knowIedgeable in what they do. I also needed to have my night guard adjusted so I made an appointment for Thursday. They make all appointments easy to make. Thanks Bates Dental. ALL OF YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Thanks again.

Love Bates Dental! Kind and gentle hygienists, caring doctor and great front office staff. I anxiety kicks in prior to a dental visit until I remember I have no anxiety with the Bates crew. If I could change one thing it would be....oh, wait a minute, I'd change nothing. My thanks to Bates Dental.

Simply, I don't like going to the dentist; from past experiences. But, Bates Dental changed my mind. Super friendly, personable staff, well-equipped office that can handle everything on site, wonderful doctor who listens and cares and goes the extra mile to make sure my problem is solved and I'm comfortable with everything. He even called to check and see how I was doing after my root canal. We will stay with Bates Dental forever!

Fantastic practice for someone with dental anxiety. Dr. Bates is kind, patient and a great dentist! His hygienist, Samantha, also did a great job of making me feel comfortable while cleaning my teeth. Overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend Bates Dental!

Excellent Communication. Dr. Bates listens to the patient. This experience was the best I've had with a dentist and his office staff in more than thirty years. It is the BEST I have experienced in Spokane, and I'm extremely thankful for Dr Bates listening skills, expertise, professionalism, and gentle efficiency. Second visit: My opinion remains the same. Dr Bates is also a true gentleman. An extraction I knew would ultimately cause residual pain came out much more easily than I expected. Local anesthetic was sufficient for me not to feel the pain as extractions were done. Three hours later, where the molar was hurts. However, there will be no more tooth pain ever. It was interesting to watch as Dr Bates made computer graphic denture impressions. That fascinated me. I look forward to a continuing dentist/patient relationship with Dr Bates. He and his staff are awesome. Side note: if you need distraction from the procedures, they have a TV up high on the wall with Netflix. Perks can be awesome too! Did I mention he's gentle AND efficient? That deserves emphasis. Update: It is taking a bit of time for the dentures to be finalized. There was a shipping delay for the wax impression. The impression fits. Trying them on took less than fifteen minutes. Now we await the final product which should be ready in a week or so. The prediction was the second week of October. Patience really is a virtue!
