I love talking with our patients and their families! Learning about their lives, and their interests is just as important to me as creating that unforgettable smile they're seeking. We serve a wonderful community and I truly enjoy hearing each person's stories and experiences.

I believe that each patient deserves the highest quality of orthodontic care, with a treatment tailored to their unique needs. Learning about developments in techniques, technologies, and materials allows me to devise the right orthodontic plan for each person.

In order to deliver that level of treatment, I stay current on orthodontic advancements by taking courses throughout the year. I attend lectures and conferences, as well as keep up to date with the most recent released research findings in the orthodontic journals.

I grew up the fourth of ten children yes, I have nine brothers and sisters in Rockland County, along the Hudson River. After I left the Air Force in 1986, my wife Sue and I moved to Oneida, as shes from upstate New York.

Becky and her husband Josh have 2 adorable children, Hannah and Andrew. Richard and his wife Fabiola are both physicians.Tim isa graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia-concentrating on voice and piano, has a private studio in Washington, DC.

Every day I help people in our community make a lasting, positive change in their lives by transforming their smiles into one that they love. It's rewarding to watch a person grow during their time in treatment. As their smile changes, their self-esteem blossoms, and they gain confidence with a smile that they love to share!

Many of my family members are dentists, so I grew up appreciating how lives were improved due to dentistry. After practicing for more than20 years, I know that I followed the right path. Orthodontics is my passion! My days are spent surrounded by people who are changing their smiles; I cannot imagine anything better than that!

I am committed to providing each patient with the right orthodontic treatment for their clinical and personal needs. As part of that commitment, I stay at the forefront of advancements in the field through continuing education. By learning about new technologies and techniques, I ensure patients receive the best treatment for their unique situation.

Each year I take courses and seminars, as well as participate in workshops, at local, regional, and national conferences. Im also a member of the Damon Forum and participate in the New York State Damon Study Group and Invisalign study groups.

I grew up in Oneida. After pursuing my education I returned here to raise my family, and practice orthodontics. My wife Dana and I have three amazing children: Ian, Phinn, and Kate. Our family also includes onedogand two cats.

I'm passionate about improving the confidence in my patients. Many patients are afraid of smiling; they hate looking in the mirror or they never take photos. The thought of carrying this shame for your whole life feels heavy & burdensome. No one should ever feel uncomfortable in their own skin. Therefore, my goal for every patient is to transform their smile along with their self-esteem. I want all my patients to stand up a little taller, smile a little wider and be free from embarrassment.

Like many of you, I hated my smile. However, after going through orthodontic treatment in high school, my personality blossomed. Finally, I was proud of my smile. Those emotions resonated within me and led me to pursue a career in orthodontics.

The key to orthodontic success is teamwork between the orthodontist and the patient. Therefore, I bring my warmth & joy to the office every day to make the environment comfortable for my patients. Because every individual is different, I personally diagnose and treatment plan a case based on the specific needs and concerns of the patient.

Since technology is always evolving, I continue to adapt to new techniques to ensure that my patients are receiving outstanding care. With increasing demands for 'invisible' treatment, I continue to learn about the philosophy and technique behind clear aligner therapy using Invisalign. Our office is extremely proud of becoming a Diamond Plus Invisalign Provider. Diamond Plus status is only given to the top 1% of Invisalign providers. I 'm willing to treat most bites with Invisalign, including crowding, impactions, open bites and overbites. If I have a complex case, I will use limited Damon braces with Invisalign to get the job done. Furthermore, I utilize temporary anchorage devices (TADs) for certain cases to help assist in tooth movement. TADs are tiny little screws that are placed in the bone to help anchor or move the teeth.

I was born and raised in western New York state. I grew up with many animals including dogs, chickens, and goats. Currently, I have the cutest kitty named Lily, who is my absolute pride and joy! When I'm not spending time with my loved ones, I enjoy baking and cake decorating. I also enjoy yoga and nature walks to help burn off all the calories from the cakes I bake!

I received my Orthodontic Certificate and Masters in Oral Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2020. Living in Chicago was one of the best experiences of my life! By far it is my favorite city, and the food was amazing! However, I missed the small town feeling and decided to move closer to home.

Even after all this schooling, I still love to learn and grow within my profession. I find the best way to continue learning is through teaching younger generations. Therefore, I volunteer time to teach orthodontics to the dental residents at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.

Our office is extremely active on social media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram @bassinandhessionorthodontics. I want to be a part of the community and continue to make my patients smile even when they aren't in the office!

The braces themselves were well done, but my experience here was traumatic for me. I had taken excellent care of my teeth, but 15months into having braces, I went to a boarding school. It was an abusive place that forced extreme sleep deprivation onto us, and my teeth were heavily damaged as a result. I don't remember which doctor I saw at this practice to remove my braces-- it was either Dr. Dan or Dr. Hession-- but he was cruel to me. He treated me with disgust and distain. He also placed a permanent retainer behind my front teeth without asking permission: He said "you had a gap?" I said "yes" He said "and you don't ever want it back?" And I said "I'd prefer not" He had me lean back. I asked him what he was doing, but he wouldn't tell me until after he was finished. He had cemented a chain behind my front teeth. When I saw this, I immediately told him to remove it. He would not. I begged him. He would not. It was placed in a way that prevented me from flossing (even my dentist couldn't manage to get floss in there). It started causing erosion between my front incisors-- only after it caused significant damage did the doctor at this practice remove the retainer. I felt very violated and hurt by this ordeal. They also failed to remove much of the cement from my braces. I guess they felt I didn't matter enough. A few years later a periodontist removed it for me. Overall, this was a traumatic experience. The damage to my teeth from boarding school was hard enough on me, but the utter disregard that I was treated with here really stung, and was deeply unprofessional. For this reason, I cannot recommend this practice.
