He is a member of theAmerican Dental Association,Louisiana Dental Association, a fellow in both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, a graduate of the Schuster Center for Professional Development and a past president of the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association. In 2020, Dr. Basinger became the editor of The Journal of the Louisiana Dental Association. He has also served as a delegate or alternate delegate from Louisiana to the American Dental Association Annual Meeting since 2016.
In addition, he strives to raise community awareness and improve dental education, especially for children, through volunteer work. He served as the NWLDA chairman for Give Kids a Smile Day from 2004-19, where he organized members of the local dental community to provide free services for children in need.
Dr. Basinger was honored to receive the 2019 Integrity Award from the Shreveport/Bossier Better Business Bureau. Since 2005, he has been selected annually by his peers for SB Magazines Shreveport/Bossier Citys Top Doctors/Dentists issue. Additionally, he was honored by the Louisiana Dental Association with the 2006 New Dentist Award.
He loves attending college and professional sporting events with his family, coaching his sons sports teams when they were younger and just playing catch or chipping a golf ball in the yard with his boys.
As a family, the Basingers are actively involved in their church, love to travel and experience new places and enjoy spending time together: exploring the outdoors, playing board games or watching movies. Its a full and fun life!
Marshia joined our team in 2021 and has been an expanded duty dental assistant since 2006. She lives in Bossier City with her husband Jesse and their two sons Mason and Jaxson as well as their English Bulldogs, Praline and Sundae.

Shreveport Mudbugs Hockey Club Dr. Basinger is the official team dentist for the Shreveport Mudbugs hockey club, an affiliate in the NAHL. You never know when a flying puck, or fist, will cause the need for an emergency dental visit!
Give Kids A Smile Day Give Kids A Smile is the ADA Foundations signature access to care program, with events taking place throughout the year. These events kick off annually on the first Friday in February, which is celebrated as Give Kids A Smile Day. Each year, thousands of dentists and volunteers give their time to provide free oral health education, screenings, and treatment to underserved children. More than 5.5 million children have been cared for by more than half a million volunteers since 2003. Dr. Basinger has been the coordinator for the Northwest Louisiana Dental Associations events since 2004.
The Hub urban ministry/Purchased: Not for Sale The Hub: urban ministries exists to walk those in poverty through a process that gives them hope, friendship, community, a place they belong and the skills needed to become self-sufficient by giving them access to rescue, relationships, resources and recovery. The Hub does this through two primary ministries: The Lovewell Center and Purchased: Not for Sale. Through these ministries, we serve those in poverty and homelessness,women and children trapped in the sex industry and victims of human trafficking.
Front 9 Tour The Front 9 Tour is founded on Christian principles with a mission to further Gods kingdom through the game of golf. The students play competitively at their local area golf course for ultimate practice and receive top-quality golf instruction.Dr. Basinger is a supporter and sponsor of the tour and all three of his boys have played or are still playing on the tour.
Caddo Magnet High School Alumni Association Dr. Basinger graduated from Magnet High School in 1988 and was part of the effort to start an alumni association in 2015. He continues to serve on the board of directors.
