Of the thousands of different expressions that the human face is capable of, the human smile is one of the most important. It reveals underlying joy and signifies appreciation, love, agreement, acceptance, and a willingness to cooperate with others. Teeth are the major factor in the attractiveness of the smile and of facial aesthetics in general. Being an orthodontist and having the ability to create a beautiful smile for someone can literally change the course of their life. As an orthodontist, Dr. Barron delights in improving smiles and facial aesthetics for people every day.

Dr. Barron has enjoyed creating beautiful, healthy smiles for patients in the greater Baltimore area for more than three decades. During this time, he and his team have dedicated themselves to improving the self-esteem and well-being of others through orthodontic care.

Dr. Barrons aptitude for the sciences and desire to improve the lives of others started him on the path to dental medicine and eventually the specialty of orthodontics. His basic science training began at Northeastern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science with honors in biology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and completed a combined postdoctoral degree in orthodontics and a Master of Science in oral biology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.

In addition to lecturing nationally as a consultant for ORMCO, a top orthodontic research and manufacturing company, Dr. Barron is also an assistant clinical professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he teaches part time in the Department of Orthodontics. He has taught colleagues and students around the world about the Damon System of low-force orthodontics.

He has co-authored and designed teaching modules, along with Dr. Dwight Damon and Dr. Frank Bogdan, that have been translated into several languages and are used at universities worldwide to teach orthodontic students.

Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Dr. Barron has resided in Baltimore County since 1988. He and his wife Mary have raised their son Chris and daughter Julia here. Chris earned degrees in law and business and lives in the Washington, D.C. area. Julias love of music took her to New Orleans to obtain a degree in music industry studies. She has worked at popular music venues and is currently pursuing non-profit work to help the less fortunate in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Barron is an avid guitar player who also enjoys fishing, golfing, and doing remodeling projects around the house. He is also a die-hard Washington Capitals fan. Spending time with his family and grand-dogs is his number-one favorite thing to do.

Kristy has been a member of our clinical staff since 2005 and is an orthodontic assistant. She has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Penn State. In addition, she is a licensed dental radiation technician as well as a board-certified orthodontic assistant. Kristy enjoys establishing relationships with her patients and their families and appreciates being a part of a patients orthodontic transformation.

Originally from Baltimore, Kristy now resides in New Freedom with her husband and two children. She enjoys staying active with running, Zumba, and other dance-type workouts. As a family, they love spending time outdoors and going to the beach when time permits.

Tammy has been a member of our clinical team since 2006. She is a board-certified orthodontic assistant and licensed radiation technician. Tammy loves getting to know our patients and seeing the results, from the day the braces go on tothe day they come off. It brings her joy to see the glow, smile, and confidence they have!

Tammy lives in Hanover, Pennsylvania. She was married in June 2017 and has two beautiful girls who are ten years apart and keep her very busy. Tammy loves to run and is planning to do a few half marathons this coming year and a full marathon by the end of the year!

Carol joined our clinical staff in 2013, but has nearly three decades of experience in the field of orthodontics. (Obviously, she started working as a mere child!) She is board certified in general dental assisting-expanded duties, orthodontics, and dental radiation technology. Carol loves working with a group of people who are all dedicated to the highest possible level of patient care.

Nikki has been an orthodontic technician since 2009 and joined our clinical staff in 2011. She is now our communications and marketing coordinator. She is a board-certified dental radiation technologist and licensed expanded functions orthodontic assistant.

Jill has more than 15 years of experience working in orthodontics. She began her career working with patients as an assistant in 2000. She is licensed in both dental radiology and orthodontic assisting. She transitioned into administration and has been Dr. Barrons administrative coordinator since 2004. Jill also handles our patients financial needs and enjoys helping to make orthodontics affordable.

Jill grew up in Northern Baltimore County but has lived in Pennsylvania for more than 15 years with her family. At home, sheenjoys the busy life, courtesy of her four energetic children. They spend a lot of time traveling and camping. Jill is also an avid runner who participates in races and enjoys decorating cakes and reading in her downtime.

Maryann has been our front desk coordinator since 2005. She came into the practice with 30 years of dental office experience and is more than happy to assist patients with all their scheduling needs. Maryann loves seeing our patients smiles and how much it changes their lives.

Sally began her career in orthodontics as a certified orthodontic assistant and worked on the clinical side for 25+ years before moving into the administrative side. Nowshe welcomes new patients and assists them from their initial phone call until the start of treatment. She also handles our marketing and coordinates continuing education events. Sally enjoys getting to know our patients as they progress through their treatment, ultimately ending with a fantastic new smile!

Sally lives in Southern Pennsylvania with her husband, two youngest children, and their chocolate Labrador Retriever. She loves being a Mom-Mom to two sweet granddaughters and also enjoys reading, writing, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Having treated two generations of Greater Baltimore families, Dr. Barron and our stafftake a deep interest in our patients lives. Our golden rule is to treat all patients as if they are members of our own family. As parents ourselves, we never take it for granted that moms and dads trust us with their most prized possessions in the world: their children. We treat their children as we would treat our own.
