Dr. Fitton is a native of the northwest suburbs of Chicago and has been in the private practice of dentistry for over 30 years. He currently practices in Barrington, IL and Honolulu, HI. Dr. Fitton is a graduate of St. Viator High School, University of Dayton and Loyola University School of Dentistry. Describing himself as a compulsive learner, Dr. Fitton has completed over one thousand hours of continuing education. His extensive training has included orthodontics, endodontics, implants and cosmetic dentistry. Currently he is a participant in the Gnathos Organization for Orthodontics and Periodontics, as well as the Advanced Dental Implant Studies Group, an international think tank for the development of new techniques for the use and placement of dental implants.
Dr. Fitton is the holder of 2 patents, one for a process to sterilize and clean dental unit water lines, and the Manta Bite Scuba Mouthpiece. The Manta-Bite was designed as a safety mouthpiece for divers and snorkelers.
While not practicing dentistry, Dr. Fitton enjoys golf, scuba diving, fishing and ice hockey. He has served on numerous civic boards including the Barrington Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Chargers Hockey Association, Village of Inverness Board and Inverness Golf Club Board of Directors.
Dr. Russell P. Rusty Fitton IV is the oldest son of Dr. Fitton and a graduate of the UIC College of Dentistry. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Fitton received a BA in Biology at Indiana University Bloomington, and attended William Fremd High School in Palatine.
Dr. Fitton believes continuing education is one of the most enjoyable aspects of his career. In 2012 he completed the extensiveMedical College of Georgia/MAXI mini-residency in Dental Implants and is an Associate Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has continued as a member of the Advanced Dental Implant Studies group, an international group that discusses the latest technologies and techniques in dental implant therapy. Dr. Fitton enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry, and treating patients of all ages.
Dr. Fitton is an active member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and Academy of General Dentistry.

I have been going to Wright Dental for many years. I highly recommend this practice for all your dental needs. This includes preventative care, dental work and even Misaligned teeth straightening.

Dr Fitton is the absolute best oral surgeon! He did my implant and did analyzing job. I came to him after having a terrible experience with another dentist. He fixed what the other dentist messed up and was able to give me an implant in shorter time then predicted. I deal with a lot of anxiety when it comes to dentist appointments and he was always so calm and gave me the care I needed. Dr Fitton made a daunting process a lot easier. I will only be seeing him moving forward.

I had nothing short of horrific experiences for years with Dr. Fitton senior and Jr. I have never been treated so poorly at a medical establishment as I have been here. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

I was extremely fortunate to receive a recommendation to Barrington Dental more than 15 years ago. I have entrusted both Dr. Fitton's with my dental care since then and could not be more grateful. My recommendation to Barrington Dental is based on far more than Dr. Fitton's excellent care. What makes Barrington Dental so special is their caring and compassionate staff. It starts from the moment you arrive and are greeted by their friendly admin staff who put you right at ease. The dental hygienists are so caring and engaging. No one enjoys going to the dentist, but Barrington Dental will without doubt make the expereince less stressful. I strogly recommend Barrington Dental.

Outstanding care from the entire staff at Barrington Dental! I recently had major cosmetic, and preventative dental work at Barrington Dental that surpassed my best expectations. It is clear to me that the staff and the doctor work like clockwork! The end results from my recent visits are more than I would have ever expected. I was very uncomfortable around any dentists, Doctor Fitton III has changed my fears about seeing a dentist at this point. Ever procedure was without pain and I am no longer uncomfortable about a dentist visit. Everything procedure was explained in simple terms and I understood every step of the procedure.Thank you Dr Fitton III and your staff for such pleasurable experience! I can once again smile!

I have been coming here for years, and believe it or not it's actually really helped me get over my fear of going to the dentist. Dr. Fitton (IV) is so knowledgeable and it's clear he truly cares about his patients. I drive all the way from north Chicago to come to this practice because of the trust I've put in the team at Barrington dental. Dr. Fitton is professional and won't recommend any treatment that isn't necessary (which has not been my experience at other dentists). This practice is well run by such a wonderful staff. I also wanted to shout out my favorite dental hygienist, Analyse C. She is top notch and I request her by name every time because of the time and care she takes to make my experience stress- free!

Dr Fitton, while I see III - I have been treated by IV, both are great. They take pride in their work, and I feel they do a great Job. As for the staff I have never met anyone who wasn't kind and caring. I recommend the office to many people. Thanks, Jim

Dr. Fitton (IV) has been my dentist for 7 years, as soon as we moved to Illinois. I feel fortunate to have found him because he provides the finest dental experience I have received. I'm 63 and have lived in 4 states so I have good comps. Dr. has filled cavities; placed crowns; FIXED my bite; and most recently did bonding on my front tooth for small chip and, at the same time, removed evidence that that tooth had moved a tiny bit. True artistry, no kidding. He moves swiftly with great skill and for the first time in my adult life I have procedures without gas for pain. Not needed. I usually see Michaela every six months and I've so liked getting to know her. She's terrific. The staff is just so nice and competent. I recommend Dr. Fitton to everyone. Linsey Magrath

This Dental practice is phenomenal. The staff as well as the dentists are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I am someone who does not like going to the dentist, but the staff made it comfortable and not stressful. . I would highly recommend this practice for whoever may be looking to find a dentist!

I was literally terrified of the dentist. I rarely went to the dentist during my adolescent years and wouldn't have sought out a dentist if it weren't for issues with my teeth. Then, I was referred to Barrington Dental about 8 years ago. I have never had a scary experience here. The staff is phenomenal, I've always been comfortable and felt safe. I no longer fear going to the dentist because I've never felt pain from any of the work I've had done. I will never go anywhere else.

As usual I had a great experience at Fitton Dental. The work performed was excellent and Dr. Fitton always takes the time to answer all my questions. But the real key for me is the staff. They are always welcoming and friendly. Angie is my favorite she is a wonderful person and the Fitton's are fortunate to have such a warm and caring person working with them.

Before I chose Drs. Russell P. Fitton III and IV, I did extensive research on credentials and was impressed with what I learned. Moreover, the dentist's skills exceeded this reputation. He has an exceptional communication style, taking time to understand my needs and recommends only what is necessary. I came to the practice with extensive dental work and a few issues, and I remain confident my every need will be met in a caring and professional manner.
