My dental career started by chance when I enlisted in the US Air Force in 1975. I was hoping to get into computers but ended up a dental assistant. After 3 years I decided it was time to go back to school. Those three years were formative in my approach to dental care. I worked with many dentists and I saw a wide range in approaches to patient care and comfort. I decided that should I reach my goal of becoming a dentist, I was going to make dental care as comfortable and pain free as possible.
I received my undergraduate degree in biology at University of Southern California (GO Trojans). My dental degree came from the University of California, San Francisco. I returned to the Air Force for 17 more years and retired in 2003. My assignments included Japan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. I met my beautiful wife Kathy in Albuquerque and we have been together 26 years. I retired at Eielson in 2003 and filled in at different offices before open my office in 2006 with my dental hygienist wife, Kathy. In 2015 the office was moved to the current location on 21st Ave, near the hospital.
Restorative dentistry is my passion from just a simple filling or crown to rebuilding a smile or a bite. I also enjoy all different aspects of dentures from partial, complete and implant retained dentures. Ive had extensive training in Occlusion, Implants, TMJ issues and Prosthodontics. I have also attended courses at the Spears Institute and Pankey Institute.
I have been a dental hygienist for 17 years. I graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at the top of my class. I have the privilege of going to work every day and working with the best patients. Not many people love going to work every day but I am one of the lucky few.
