Dr. Zongjian Jia, called Dr. Z by staff and patients, earned his DMD at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona 2013. Prior to his career change to dentistry, Dr. Jia completed his PH.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular biology in China and conducted biomedical researches for over 10 years in several renowned universities located in China, Canada and USA (UBC, NIH/NCI, ASU etc.). Dr. Z first practiced dentistry in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for two years, until he took over the dental office of Dr. James Crumbaker in Barre, Vermont. This practice existed at the same location for over 60 years with a strong professional reputation and history in the greater Barre area with three preceding Dentists. Dr. Z became the fourth generation dentist in this practice and is continuing the tradition of serving Barre community with gentle, comprehensive, quality dental care. While he is committed to provide excellent oral health care to his patients, Dr. Z enjoys the natural beauty of Vermont and outdoor activities including hiking, fishing and biking with his family.
Amanda comes from a long line of native Vermonters. She prides herself on providing excellent customer service with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Her previous professional experience is centered around team-building, creating efficiencies, and financial accounting. Amanda spends her free time on reading, gardening and teaching herself how to crochet. Her family, pets, and being out in nature bring her much joy.
A native Vermonter, Jeanine received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2007. Prior to that she worked as a Dental Assistant for 25 years in general dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics. Her long history as an assistant in different fields of dentistry contributes to her vast knowledge in a wide range of areas. She has a passion for helping people with their overall health that begins with good oral health. When she is not taking care of her many patients, Jeanine enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and spending time with her puppy, Julie.
A long time native of Barre, Mary recieved her Associates Degree at University of Vermont in 1980 and has practiced hygiene in the central Vermont area for the past 36 years. She enjoys working with all ages and has much success with young children. Mary has a very gentle approach with patients who experience dental phobia and prides herself on patient education.
Born in Burlington and raised in Barre VT, Gillian is a new member of our team. She has gained a lot of experience in the medical field after graduating from High School from U-32 in 2014. She will make your visit to the dentist a breeze with her comfortable personality. We are very pleased to have her hard work ethic and positive vibes at this office.

I have had some pretty severe trauma with dentists from childhood on so making an appointment to see any dentist was a big step. Amanda in the front office was amazing and comforting and got me right in for an appointment. Between the staff and Dr. Z - I felt in capable hands. I had my first procedure yesterday and even tho I still hate having my teeth worked on, Dr Z works fast and his technique is painless and so much less invasive than other dentists. I am very pleased with his care and I am trusting him with the rest of my dental plan. Thank you Dr Z and everyone in his office!!!

Dr Z took over from a long time local and highly respected Dr Crumbaker and as a patient of both, I can personally say that he is both a competent successor and skilled in his craft. He's gentle, pays attention to the details and his staff is as good as they've always been. Highly recommended.

I had an awesome experience here! I just started going here as our former dentist left much to be desired. Honestly, I'm terrified of going to the dentist but the staff and Dr Z were nothing short of fantastic!
