Dr. Barr is a recent addition to the Western Slope. She hails from Mississippi, and while she will always consider herself a Southern Gal, she has always known she would settle in the West. She received her BS degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Mississippi State University (Go Dawgs!). She then moved to Birmingham, AL where she studied Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and eventually shifted gears, becoming a Registered Nurse. For the next seven years, Chelsea worked as an RN at various academic medical centers eventually settling into the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at The University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Returning to school in her early thirties, Dr. Barr received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi. She is married to her best friend, Robert, a nurse anesthetist and has two sons, Rocco and Dylan. Rocco was born in 2014 and Dylan was added to the family on Easter 2018. Both can be regularly be found napping or playing in the office. In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys exploring the outdoor activities of her new home with her family, cooking, kayaking and cheering on her MSU Bulldogs!
I have been in the dental field for 16 years and have no plans of doing anything else. I love what I do and our team is amazing to work with, As well as the wonderful patients we serve. I was born on the Oregon Coast and moved to Colorado when I was 9. I have been in the Grand Junction area for 25 years. I love Colorado and all it has to offer. I love camping, hiking and doing arts & craft projects, as well as spending time with family and friends doing just about anything.
I have four grown children and two grandchildren and have been happily spending my time with my partner, Mark for the last five years. I am proud to say that I am one of nine children. Being from a large family was an amazing experience I wouldn't trade for anything.
Danelle began her career as a Dental Assistant in 2007. Danelle believes that she works with the best dental team in Grand Junction and feels truly blessed to come to work every day and be surrounded by amazing and caring co-workers. She has built many wonderful relationships with our patients over the years and has been known to shed a tear or two with a patient because they are so happy to be able to smile again.
Outside the office, Danelle has a wonderful husband, two daughters and one small bird with an enormous personality. She is very close to her extended family who also live here in the valley. Her heart is most at home in the mountains camping, fishing, and exploring nature. She also enjoys live music, baking, and traveling to new places.
I'm Diane, one of the full time Dental Hygienists at Barr Family Dentistry. I was raised in Grand Junction from 1 month old and the only time I left was to go to school in Rangely, Co. I graduated from Colorado Northwestern Community College in 2006 and have practiced here ever since. I'm VERY active in my profession. I am the Vice President of the CNCC advisory committee for the Dental Hygiene department, I am Chair of the Western Slope Dental Hygiene component of the Colorado Dental Hygiene Association. I LOVE spending time outdoors with my husband, Jarrod and my 2 amazing children, Tanner and Saige.
I paddleboard as much as possible, hunt, hike, and pretty much anything else that puts me outside with my family! Most of our family is in Grand Junction, they are our army that help everyday with the kids while we both work full time. I am so happy with my decision to join the Barr family Dentistry team, and love nothing more than to offer our patients the best options for their oral health and to build strong, trusting relationships with them! I feel we are a very strong team and a very busy, strong office. Hope to see you soon!
My name is Amber and my husband and I moved to Grand Junction, CO in August 2020. We recently lived in Lexington, KY where I have been in dentistry for the past 12 years. Our dream was to eventually get to Colorado and explore this beautiful state. The opportunity finally presented itself and I couldn't be happier than with Barr Family Dentistry. I look forward to educating the public on the importance of oral health, reversing gingivitis, and the halt of periodontal disease. On top of that seriousness, my husband and I enjoy exploring the outdoors and spending time with our hound dog and two cats!
I moved to Colorado June 2020 from Oregan. I was born and raised in Washington State, moving to Oregan to help family and attend school. I have been in dentistry for a total of 22 years. I absolutely love what I do and making people smile. I have done a lot of volunteer work around Oregan doing dentistry on young kids where families couldn't afford to take care of their dental needs. This has been very rewarding.
My best friend lives in Evergreen, so we enjoy going into the mountains to explore, camp, fish, hunt, look for sheds, and watch nature. My family still lives in the PNW, so we like to visit. I love being able to get back home to see the Oregon Coast and visit family and friends. Can't wait to explore more of Colorado too!

It is a wonderful, friendly and caring dental office. They have always done a great job for my husband and me. They are very caring to seniors also. I highly recommend Dr. Barr. She is awesome. The whole staff is great.

Dr. Barr and her team are amazing. It truly is a family practice because they care for our entire family and we feel like family when we're there. The team is great with small children as my kids beg to go to the dentist! Everyone knows your name when you're there. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Same day crowns! I needed a new crown. All done in 2 hours. I fly in to visit family, I always book an appointment for my teeth cleaning and check up. The staff is professional and friendly. Dr Barr is talented and fun to visit. I love my dentist and office.

If you use your mouth to chew food, I would not recommend this dentist but they are great at herding sheep just not checking on them.

This is an exceptional dental practice. The hygienist, Heather, and Dr. Barr were both very good listeners -- and excellent at explaining any treatment recommendations, including the pros and cons. They are experienced, well educated and you can tell they really enjoy what they do!

Not only do they take great care of my teeth but Barr is such an amazing culture, it makes me happy every time I walk in there. Abby is an incredible receptionist. Danielle usually takes care of my teeth and she is so kind.

Highly do not recommend. Spent more money on dental care in this office in the last 2 years alone, than in the last 10 years. In addition 1. unprofessional approach, do not warn you about added services for added charge. 2. Dental work doesn't last. Fillings coming out within 5-6 months. 3. Unprofessional conversation happening right above patient's head leaving you wondering if their focus is your mouth as they drill into your teeth or whatever drama they are dealing with in the moment.

Love Dr. Barr and her staff. I had to cancel my appt and reschedule with a different hygienist. I still felt comfortable, and felt like the job was thorough. I highly recommend Barr Family Dentistry!

My son 8 and daughter 7 got treated today and they did nitrous, I chose not to be in the room, I never heard a peep and they both came out happy!! I was happy we did not have to go to a specialist and the staff took VERY GOOD care of my Littles!

All I have to say is find out the cost up front!! I went in to get a quote on a couple of extractions and some fillings. The quote came back at $2,480.00..OMG! When I was freaked out at the cost, they very nicely tried a care card and when I couldn't get that, my other option I was told, is to find somewhere else. I did go somewhere else and I had new xrays taken and then the new dentist matched tooth for tooth everything that Dr Barr had on the list to be done. My new quote.... 888.00!! All this is without insurance at both places. Almost $1,600.00 difference! Dr Barr should be ashamed charging that much more!! I expected maybe a couple of hundred, but $1,600.00 is crazy!!! Had it been only a couple of hundred more I probably would have picked Dr Barr. She was very personable and her staff are great, but not $1,600.00 great.... Price gouging is not the way to do business!

Dr. Barr and her entire staff are exceptionally knowledgable, professional, and friendly. I have moved around a lot and seen many different dentists over the years and Dr. Barr is the sharpest shooter of them all. Not only is she extremely down to earth and very personable, she really knows her stuff and cares about her patients. She has caught issues that no other dentist has with my teeth and fixing them has been a game changer. Can't recommend highly enough!!! I'd rate them 6 stars if I could!
