He has been fortunate enough to have practiced at the same world class location for his entire career. He and his father were able to build out their suite from scratch, enabling them to customize exactly how the patient experience would be, and to optimize the latest technology available. The facility is absolutely gorgeous, adorned with local artist watercolor and acrylic original paintings.
Dr. Barnes is also fortunate enough to have developed over the years a privileged relationship with the top specialist in the dental field. Whether it is an endodontist, a periodontist, an orthodontist, an oral surgeon, or an ENT doctor, he can diagnose a problem, and immediately get his patients seen by best in their specialty, sometimes within minutes. Connections like these are rare these days, and can only be developed over decades because of close and professional coordinated treatment planning with his referrals.
Dr. Michael Barnes office is located in the beautiful Newport Center Medical buildings, in the heart of many world class doctors, specialist, hotels, restaurants, and beaches. Many of his long time patients continue to travel long distances to receive treatment even after moving out of the state and country, a testament to his continued superior clinical skills honed over nearly three decades of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Michael Scott Barnes has been a practicing dentist for nearly 30 years, all of which in the beautiful city of Newport Beach, California. He received his Dental degree in 1989 from the Universality of The Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Upon completion of his degree, he dove right into his fathers extensive cosmetic and implant/restorative practice and hasnt looked back since. Although Dr. David Barnes has been retired now for sometime, the invaluable experience and knowledge obtained from practicing along side the elder Dr. Barnes during those early years gave him a chance to shorten the learning curve 10 fold in practicing exceptional dentistry, mostly in the challenging field of implant and cosmetic dentistry.
Over the past decades, Dr. Michael Barnes has had the opportunity to work along side numerous outstanding clinicians and lecturers in all facets of dentistry. He continues to educate himself in the latest technologies and advances in modern dentistry on a yearly basis. Over his career, he has attended and participated in thousands of hours of the highest degree of continuing education available throughout the United States.
Cosmetic dentistry has come a long way in the last three decades and Dr. Barnes has been at the forefront of these advances, primarily in the choices in porcelain and composite resins available today. Knowing which material works best for a particular application is probably the most important decision a dentist can make as far as success or failure in cosmetic dentistry.
Implant dentistry has evolved greatly over the last 40 years. The dental manufactures have almost made dental implants foolproof as far as product failures. It has now become common place to have dental implants placed in our jaws. Dr. Barnes has gained the experience and knowledge of how to incorporate single or multiple implants in his patients dentition virtually trouble free.
Dr. Barnes prides himself on patient communication and he makes you understand your treatment options and the benefits of each option offered to you. So now each and every patient can make an educated and informed decision about what treatment procedure is right for them. I just had my first cleaning with Suzanne and initial visit with Dr. Barnes. I cannot express my gratitude to Suzie at the front desk and the rest of his staff. I had a pretty traumatic experience about 5 years ago when I had a bad root canal gone wrong that left me with a permanent nerve disorder called Trigeminal Neuralgia on the right side of my face in the second and third branch and I've had gamma knife radiation to help with the pain, but I haven't trusted anyone to really touch me since then. The ones I've tried hurt me a lot. This experienced was absolutely Painless!! Both the cleaning and visit was tailored to me personally. I feel so clean and have a wonderful plan with Dr.Barnes. Thank you !! I never thought I would look forward to a dentist appointment!

Let's face it, going to the dentist is not at the top of the favorite list! But fear no more my friends, Dr Barnes and his incredible staff will change that for good! From the moment you walk in the door, Suzie makes you feel like you're home. Dr Barnes is a master at his profession, gentle, makes sure you're comfortable, and does everything to perfection. Stoked, very pleased with my first couple visits to see Dr. Barnes! He understands all of your concerns and will address each one with ease. Suzie at the front desk is also very helpful and accommodating. She scheduled my appointments and also helped with my teeth cleaning! I got a 3D printed crown at another dentist's office 2 years ago and have suffered on and off tooth sensitivity for close to a year after that. It fell off unexpectedly 2 weeks ago but luckily I didn't lose it. I decided to take my crown to Dr Barns and he reinstalled it for me and I have not had any sensitivity around that tooth at all since that procedure. His work definitely speaks for his experience and skills. I deeply regret not having got my initial crown from him in the first place, but going forward, I know who I will be sticking with.

New patient in pain, but they took me in right away. Very easy and quick to get new account, called me in before I was finished with the paperwork. Really great service and professionalism. Abby was so nice. Saw Dr. Barnes within 3 mins. after my x-rays. Dr. Barnes is very pleasant, informative, patient, positive, and personable. Great bedside manner -- very open and genuine with treatment options.

Best Dentist Ever! I have always had excellent care with Dr. Barnes and his staff. He fixed a badly chipped tooth once and now I can't remember which one it was. Flawless workmanship. Today, Meredith did a superb job cleaning my teeth. Simply magnificent. Now they are so smooth and silky my tongue won't leave them alone. Why, I feel ready to chew ice again! ... Kidding. I don't do that. And as usual Suzie at the front desk is super helpful and charming. Probably the nicest receptionist I've encountered in a doctor-type setting. So if you are looking for a new dentist, I encourage you to call their office. I think you will have a great experience.

Me and my family trust Dr. Michael Barnes D.D.S & his Staff. As soon as you enter the office your welcomed by Susie who is cheerful and sweet. She makes you feel comfortable like you've known her your entire life. The office is brightly decorated with colorful water paintings as you walk down the hall. A vibe of tranquility flows throughout. The office staff are all knowledgeable, professional and welcoming. They focus on you and caring for your every dental need. Dr. Barns has years of knowledge in the dental field always up to date on the new dental technology & materials. He is attentive, Friendly and Humorous. I have been going to Dr. Barnes for most of my life and he is definitely a one of a kind amazing trustworthy dentist!! Dr. Barnes and his staff are always so friendly and kind and always make you feel like you are part of the family. His office is immaculately clean and you can tell that him and his staff love what they do and they always make you feel so fresh and clean afterwards!! Dr. Barnes is a fantastic dentist. He's very knowledgeable and explains everything completely. From basic dentistry to more complicated issues, he's the very best. His hygienist Meredith is very thorough and gentle. The whole office makes going to the dentist easy and comfortable.
