Our office is conveniently located near the intersection of Apple Road and Barksdale Road. In close proximity to the University of Delaware, South Main Street and Elkton Road. Ample parking available.
If you have lost a permanent adult tooth, attempt to reinsert the tooth into the socket. . Prior to reinserting the tooth rinse off with water, but do not wipe the tooth prior to reinserting. If you are unable to, keep the tooth moist in a small container of milk, salted water, or tooth preservative (such as Save-a-tooth). See your dentist as soon as possible for the best chance of having the tooth returned to its socket.
If you are experiencing a toothache, rinse your mouth with warm water and floss around the affected teeth to dislodge any stuck food. Use a cold compress on your cheek to help alleviate pain and swelling and use over-the-counter pain reliever.
For a lost or loose crown, attempt to replace the crown. Apply a small amount of dental cement, toothpaste or denture adhesive inside the crown to help hold it in place. See your dentist as soon as possible. Prevent injuries from sports or other activities by using a custom-fitted mouthguard.

As always, Barksdale Dental is simply the best. For the past 20+ years, the care I require is unsurpassed. Thank you Dr. Bent, Dr. Mac, Mindy, Jenn, and all the staff for providing me the best dental care throughout the years! Such an awesome dentist! Everyone is so friendly like always. I had a bad experience at a different dentist last time and Dr. Bent was able to keep me calm and relaxed and the 3 fillings I had to get fixed all went smoothly. Definitely trust this dentist! The only problem I have now is that when I went to eat later that day, it feels as if a part of my tooth wasn't filled all of the way and I had a sharp pain. Hopefully I can get in early tomorrow and they are opened. Nothing that can't be easily fixed.

Mindy was excellent! Great service. Am outstanding experience. Loved that Mindy explained what she was doing as she cleaned my teeth. Dr. Bent does an outstanding job at diagnosis of my teeth and his explanations are so easy for me to understand. The office is very nice to deal with overall. They really care about their patients. I started going to Barksdale Dental over 30 years ago with Dr. McAneny. ALWAYS 100% pleased with him and all the staff. Dr.Bent has continued that excellent care. Glendy is the best hygienist. Going to their office is like visiting good friends every 6 months.

Dr. Bent and the entire staff at Barksdale Dental are friendly, kind, and always professional. I hated going to the dentist until I started going here. Also, even though its not specifically a pediatric dentist office, my daughter has been going since she was about 3-4 years old and has always loved going. That speaks volumes to the staff and how comfortable they make her feel. Thank you for all your excellent care
