Dr. Stephen Barker loves being a dentist! He wants his patients to have the best experience, of course, but at the same time receive the smile they always wanted. Many of Dr. Barkers patients come see him when they have lost hope or want a new fresh look, but end up being able to show off a beautiful new smile. Dr. Barker has placed hundreds of implants in his career. These procedures change lives, improve self-confidence, open opportunities, optimize health and nutrition, increase longevity and have patients looking younger and feeling better about themselves.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Barker served for two years as a Christian missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those years of service are irreplaceable. Upon returning, he graduated from the University of Utah with honors. He mentored students in the pre-dental orientation class, the most difficult class on campus. He worked and observed three dental offices for a semester, and was an officer in the Pre-Dental Society as well. Dr. Barker has also volunteered at Operation Smile, Odyssey Teen House and was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America.
During his four years at Howard Dental School in Washington D.C., he was commissioned in the the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant. Dr. Barker then completed a dental residency in a prestigious hospital the Walter Reed National Naval Base in Bethesda, Maryland. During his Naval career, he completed a two-year Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree, as well as hundreds of hours of continued (CE) for his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Additional CE included a mini residency at White Cap Institute, as well as a DentalXP continuum of 300 hours.
To go one step further, he did an advanced dental education, completing a one-year fellowship at Dream Dental Implant Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. After devouring implant textbooks, he recently passed a prestigious implant exam from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and was accepted by the American Board of Oral Implantology, putting him close reach to qualifying for Specialization in Implantology status in Texas.
Because of his deep belief in the importance of CE, he travels nearly monthly to conferences hosted by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists (ASDA), Texas Dental Association (TDA) and smaller, intimate classes. To maintain his certifications and advanced license to do IV sedation so patients stay relaxed and comfortable, he completed additional CE regularly.

Dr. Barker and his whole staff are wonderful. He does great work and very easy to speak with about any issues with the teeth. He's a friendly doctor who loves his patients. I'm very pleased, highly recommend if you are looking for a great dentist. Thank ya'll to Dr. Barker and the staff for a great experience and making my smile look amazing again.

I had an amazing experience here from everyone I had encountered. I felt very at home and taken care of. My dental hygienist Kelsey did a phenomenal job with my cleanings and couldn't have asked for better service! Dr. Barker was very thorough and at the same time personable and made sure you understand everything. All in all, my experience was hands down one of the best I've had recently at the dentist. Definitely would recommend anyone to this practice for a high quality, comfortable experience.

I just had my first appointment at Barker Dentistry today and I cannot stress how amazing this place is!! I had kept my childhood dentist for years, so I was hesitant to find a new dentist that was closer to me, but I was THRILLED with all of the employees at the office. Evelyn, the receptionist was super friendly and professional and offered me a tour of the facility and showed me all of the neat dentistry tools. Kelsey, the hygienist, is an absolute peach and conversation flowed so naturally between us. She was also helpful with helping me understand the health of my teeth and showing me different options for whitening my teeth before my wedding in October; she also was considerate to help me do the most cost-appropriate option first and we constructed a plan together, should I feel I need an in-person whitening! Dr. Barker was incredibly professional and thorough in his analysis of my teeth and answered all of my questions (and I ask a lot!). I highly recommend them as they all went above and beyond! A+ from this teacher!

Dr Barker and staff are awsome. As his patient my concerns were addressed. He makes you feel comfortable and assist you to feel comfortable. Expense always on top of concerns but they are willing to help . I ll keep you posted.

Fantastic staff, absurdly professional and understanding. I've had a bad history with dentists that has caused me to have severe anxiety about dental appointments and these guys did a great job of helping alleviate a portion of it with just their attitudes and professionalism being on point. Also they'll speak frankly with about you about your dental health but will not berate you for your short comings unlike a large number of other dentists

All of the staff were very kind and even told me it was ok of my 5 year old came to my appointment. They explained every step and showed me every room in their practice. It is very clear to me that they are very focused on the highest level of patient care and comfort possible. I am terrified of the dentist, but I did not have any anxiety during any of my appointment today. I highly recommend this practice.
