Dr. Barinaga was born and raised in Ontario. After high school, he attended the TVCC and Gonzaga University, earning his bachelor of science degree in biology with honors. Dr. Barinaga continued his education at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry where he received his DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree, graduating among the top of his class. His training was completed at the New York University Orthodontic Specialty Residency Program where he earned his certification in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He was awarded the prestigious Jerrold Award for superior clinical achievement and his dedication to patient care upon graduation.
Dr. Barinaga is a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon State Dental Association, Eastern Oregon Dental Society (where he served as the president), American Association of Orthodontists, and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Barinaga regularly attends continuing education seminars to keep current on the latest technologies and treatment techniques.
