Dr. Barbara Mizell delivers a range of dental treatments that improve her patients oral health and smiles, always focusing on their particular needs and goals. Understanding that every patient has specific concerns, Dr. Mizell encourages open and honest conversations. This allows her to identify the care processes that are best for each person.
Known throughout the area as a skilled and gentle dentist, Dr. Mizell loves providing care to all ages. She considers it a particular honor to care for multiple generations of the same family, and loves watching children grow up.
A former naval officer, Dr. Mizell was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) by the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Since graduation, she has pursued many hours of continuing education, always seeking to improve and expand on the care options she offers her patients.
In addition to advanced training in pediatric dentistry, through a mini residency at the University of Florida, Dr. Mizell has completed multiple courses and seminars, and regularly attends lectures. She also stays current on oral healthcare research, new technology, and developments in treatments through memberships in professional organizations.
Dr. Mizell has hand-selected her dental team, looking for people who are compassionate, experienced, and who love helping others. This ensures every patient receives the highest level of care during their visit. Her team members are warm and friendly: they love welcoming new people to Mizell Family Dentistry, and strengthening relationships with established patients.
I love being a dentist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that Ive built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am aware of the latest technology and dental treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results. Stephanie has been working as a dental assistant for three years. She graduated from Everest College in Colorado Springs, Colorado and moved back to the Emerald Coast after her husband returned from deployment. Stephanie enjoys fishing in the Gulf, paddle boarding and going to the beach. She was awarded lady angler in several local fishing tournaments and loves cooking her fresh catch! Stephanie loves working with Children and education patients about their oral hygiene.
Megan is originally from Winchester, Virginia and moved to the Emerald Coast in 2012. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 and decided to further her education in dental hygiene at Virginia Western Community College. She has worked with Dr. Mizell since January 2013. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities such as paddle boarding, hiking, jogging and going to the beach, but spending time with her family takes top priority. As a hygienist, Megan really enjoys getting to know her patients personally and strives to make them feel welcome and appreciated with they visit the office.
Courtney graduated form Fortis Institute in Pensacola, Florida in 2011 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She has been working in our office since 2013. She enjoys working in dentistry and is pursuing to further her dental education. Courtney moved to Florida with her mother, father and sister in 1998 and has lived her ever since her father retired here from the Air Force. She enjoys living near the beaches of Florida.
Corbin is a lifelong resident of Florida. She graduated from Northwest Florida State College as a DANB Certified Assistant in 2013. She enjoys the outdoors, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. Corbin welcomes the challenge of working with special needs patients and incorporates that love into her profession.

Would not recommend. Dr. Mizell cleaned my teeth and so much toothpaste and water got all over my face. She also cancelled the appointment and then called and said she could get me in November. But they canceled, why would I have to be inconvenienced for their actions.

I was here on vacation and they were able to fit me in same day. The staff and dentist was amazing. Highly recommend this dentist.

I had some dental work done by Barbara Mizell she did A GREAT job on my teeth I would Highly recommend Her to anyone that needs Dental work done ! She is Very Professional and Really Nice made Me feel Very comfortable getting my teeth done I will Definitely go back to Her to get any dental work done

On my to wake my kids to their appointment and got a call it was canceled,we live about 40-45 minutes away. My kids have been going for year and this place has gone downhill. The lady working the desk is rude!

Upon walking into office the receptionist was extremely friendly and courteous! This was my daughter's first dentist check up and the assistant that took care of her was very kid friendly. She made my daughter very comfortable and that's all I needed. Dr. Mizell was TERRIFIC and my wife loved everything about how friendly and professional you was. To your whole staff we give y'all Kudos. P.S my daughter Annalucia says thank and can't wait to see y'all again

Called to get an appointment and Gretchen, who answered the phone the first time, put me on hold but never came back and hung up. Called back to an attitude and her saying that even though it says that they are accepting new patients online, they have no control over that but they are not accepting new patients and i should just drive out of town. I explained her attitude and how she spoke with me would get this review and she did not seem to care, AT ALL!! She told me that was fine but she was not accepting new patients and that was that to find another doctor. I would not recommend even calling this place!!

We have been here about 6 months. We used 2 different dentist one over charged, the other charged for procedures that were not necessary. Dr. Mizell is awesome! She's fair and knew exactly what needed to be done. She is efficient, friendly, honest and fair! We will use her from know on.
