Dr. Ramzi graduated from dental school in 2004 at the top of his class with awards and honors. After that, he pursued his passion in orthodontics and joined the prestigious orthodontic residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007; subsequently graduating with a Diploma in Orthodontics and a Master degree in Oral Science.

Shortly after graduation, Dr. Ramzi earned his board certification by the American Board of Orthodontics in 2010 and was re-certified in 2018. Important to realize, board-certification is a privilege attained by only 1 in 3 orthodontists in the United States. Therefore, it affirms highest-level clinical skills and didactic knowledge.

Furthermore, Dr. Ramzi has always had a passion for scientific research and managed to publish several articles in peer-reviewed dental and orthodontic journals. In addition, he is also a reviewer in the Journal of Progress in Orthodontics. Therefore, he assesses the quality of submitted studies and makes a determination whether they should be published or not. Moreover, his research background complements his clinical treatment philosophy and helps him decide whats in the patients best interest and what treatment options are superior to others.

After graduation from orthodontic residency, Dr. Ramzi joined a Chicago-based dental corporation and became their lead orthodontist in multiple locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs. During this period, he treated thousands of patients of all age groups and treatment complexities including severe and surgical cases.

In 2018, Dr. Ramzi along with his wife, Dr. Oweis established Band & Wire Orthodontics which opened its doors in June 2018. It is a collaboration of expertise and state-of-the-art facility that is meant to provide an incredible smile experience to each one of their patients.

Above all, Dr. Ramzis treatment philosophy is shaped by his vast clinical experience in addition to his research background. Additionally, his treatment recommendations are based on what is proven to work in the simplest, fastest and least uncomfortable way possible. Dr. Ramzi is also a strong proponent of and specializes in adult orthodontics utilizing modern techniques such as Invisalign and accelerated orthodontics. Having worked with and used almost every bracket system and orthodontic appliance available today; rest assured that Dr. Ramzi will recommend for you or your child is what he honestly thinks is best for you.

Dr. Oweis graduated from dental school in 2008 and joined the orthodontic residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009. After that, she graduated in 2012 with an Orthodontic Diploma and a Masters degree in Oral Science.

During residency, Dr. Oweis researched the effects of upper jaw expansion on lower jaw growth in growing children; a subject she is still very interested in. Subsequently, her research was published in a peer-reviewed journal. After that, Dr. Oweis earned her certification by the American Board of Orthodontics, an accomplishment she is very proud of.

Dr. Oweis began her orthodontic career immediately after graduation. In the meantime, she practiced at an established orthodontic office in Chicagos south suburbs and also practiced in multiple dental offices in the Chicagoland area. During this time, Dr. Oweis gained substantial clinical experience treating patients of all age groups but she particularly enjoys treating younger children and teenagers.

Firstly, Dr. Oweis treatment philosophy is focused on facial aesthetics and treatment outcome and her goal is to finish every case with the most aesthetically pleasing result. In addition, Dr. Oweis, a mother of three children, always empathizes with parents and does all she can to help them choose the best treatment option for their children. Thirdly, and most importantly, Dr. Oweiss goal is to make orthodontic treatment as easy, enjoyable and comfortable for all parties involved as possible.

Meanwhile, Dr. Oweis and Dr. Ramzi did so with a team-approach in mind when they established Band & Wire. Furthermore, they consult with each other often and plan the majority of cases together. Consequently, what this means for Band & Wire patients is that not only one, but two board-certified orthodontists are diagnosing and planning their treatment. Certainly, this is a real advantage that most other orthodontic offices do not offer.

Dr. Lee received her Doctorate in Dentistry from Northwestern University and went on to receive her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Illinois. She has researched child abuse and dental neglect reporting by dentists, and effective sealant materials and techniques.

Dr. Lee spent most of her childhood in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and now calls Elmhurst her home. When not treating children, she enjoys time with her husband and her college-bound twin daughters. She loves to travel, share culinary adventures in the kitchen with family, and try her hand at arts and crafts. She can often be found enjoying nature on a bike trail in the summer!
