Dr. Balster was a Hawkeye throughout his education. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a B.A. in religion and a B.S. in chemistry. He then attended the College of Dentistry, where he received his DDS in 2004, and completed his Pediatric Dental residency in 2006.
He is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of both the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Iowa Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Balster sits on the Health Services Advisory Committee for HACAP, and the St. Lukes Dental Health Center Advisory Board. He is also a past president of the Linn County Dental Society.
Dr. Beth Pfohl attended and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a B.S. in civil engineering. She then graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2006 with an M.S. in civil engineering. After practicing as an engineer for 8 years and working in the non-profit field at the Ronald McDonald House for 8 years, she attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where she received a D.D.S in 2019 and completed her Pediatric Dental residency in 2021.
