Jim Miller received his undergraduate education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, followed by training at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas. Since graduation with a doctorate in dental surgery degree in 2010, he has been employed at local private practices serving the Burleson and Mansfield communities. Dr. Miller continually strives to further his education by taking additional courses in Endodontics, Esthetics, and Oral Pathology.
Dr. Miller lives in Mansfield with his high school sweetheart, Sarah, and their son, Pierson. When Jim is not at the office he enjoys watching hockey, gardening, and attempting woodwork. On the weekends you can find him at the ice rinks cheering on his son who when he grows up wants to split his time between being a fireman and a professional hockey player.
Dr. Furman received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School. Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Furman practiced general dentistry in San Antonio, Texas while his wife, Dr. Wendi Furman, completed her dental residency. During his time in San Antonio, Dr. Furman served as the treasurer of the San Antonio chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry and was a member of a number of dental associations including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the local Seattle Study Club. Dr. Furman has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education since graduating from dental school, far exceeding requirements established by the licensing board. Dr. Furmans commitment to lifelong learning and professional advancement is ongoing. Most recently, Dr. Furman has completed hands-on implant training and earned a certificate of completion following an implant fellowship offered by NYU and DentalXP. He has received additional education and certification in implant placement, Invisalign treatment, nitrous oxide sedation, and minimal enteral sedation. Dr. Furman believes in treating his patients as if they are members of his familyand takes pride in providing the highest quality of dental care for each individual patient.
Dr. Furman grew up in El Paso, TX. He discovered his passion for, and set his sights on a career in dentistry at a young age while still in middle school. Dr. Furman attended Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth Texas, where he graduated with a B.S. in biology and minors in business, psychology, and chemistry. He was a member of the Pre-Dental Society and conducted research for Dr. Michael Chumley, focusing on Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Furman participated in numerous competitive-level intramural sports while at TCU and during dental school and he remains passionate in his support of TCU athletics. He is a proud alumnus of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Outside of work, Dr. Furman enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing with their dogs (Furby and Charlie), traveling, playing tennis, and being an avid fan and supporter of TCU Horned Frogs athletics.

I would recommend this place for anyone who does not have dental insurance I had a tooth that needed to be pulled they took care of me I will go back to this place for all of my dental needs they gave me every thing I needed to be comfortable and what I love about this place I had an appointment on a Thursday and they text me to ask if I could come a day before and I said YES and it didn't take long to get the tooth pulled I love every body there that assisted me with care

Minus the fact that the appointment took much longer than expected, I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was very kind. Katie is absolutely amazing! The soft touch she had while cleaning & examining my teeth was very much appreciated! Going to the dentist is always scary and she was EXCEPTIONAL. Doctor Hess was also very kind, informative and explained every question I had, in great detail, so I know what I need to do going forward. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone that needs dental care.

Ballard Family Dentistry is awesome! My appointment was for Friday as a new patient, but my bridge fell off on Wednesday and I called them to see if I could come in. They said yes and took care of everything. I also had x-rays, check-up and cleaning. So I'm done!! Thank you Ballard Family Dentistry!!

Awesome place to go if you need a dentist. Great staff from the front desk to the doctors. Love the dental hygienist I saw today. She's wonderful, very professional but personable too. Dr. Miller has been caring for my family since we moved to Texas 8 years ago. He is AWESOME. They are always happy to deal with my crazy situation.

The team here are so sweet! They made sure I understood what was going on and answered all the questions I had. Even the weird ones like why do I have to close my eyes while the x-rays were happening. Very much recommend!!

At the beginning we were upset that our previous dentist near us just left and Ballard became our new dental office. But after meeting Jason and Dr. Miller and thoroughly explained to us the procedure that my husband will have to undergo, we decided o stay with them. The implant procedure went so well and also the follow-up that we don't want to go to any other dental office even if the location is far. Jason is awesome, friendly and put us at ease, explain very well and so far the best dental office we have been to. Jason is the best.

Love, love, love this place. Everyone at Ballard Family Dental is so caring and compassionate. Lost a crown while eating which caused me to crack the tooth under it when I bit down on the crown. In a panic, I drove up there and they worked me right in. Dr Miller examined the damage and we will be getting both teeth repaired ASAP. Hands down the best dental office I have ever been to. I highly recommend this place
