  • First Dental Visit: We recommend that children see the dentist prior to their first birthday. It is our goal to provide an excellent dental foundation to both the patient and the parents, starting with a childs primary teeth. Our main priority is to ensure that your child is comfortable and at ease in our office and in the dentists chair.
  • Emergency Dental Care: With children, and all patients for that matter, we understand that dental emergencies may occur. For many of these situations, you can actually help your child at home. If a more serious situation has occurred, please contact our office immediately at 704-752-1900.
  • Pre-Operation Instructions: Prior to any dental operation, our pediatric dental team will discuss the operation, any medication that may be necessary, and how it will affect your child. At this time, we welcome as many questions and concerns as possible.
  • Post-Operation Instructions: After your child has undergone a dental operation or procedure, we will discuss how to care for their teeth, mouth, and jaw, depending on the operation. This may include medication, cleaning of the mouth, and specific foods to consume or not consume. We always welcome any concerns or questions for your childs post-op care.

I brought my twins for a checkup and I was quite impressed with the level of care. Additionally, the practice seem to work like a well-oiled machine: online forms, text check in, no wait, x-rays, hygienist, doctor, sugar-free lollipop and check out Knowledgeable, caring doctor and staff.

I don't like writing bad reviews, I think this is only my third to date As parents, we know that coordinating childcare and missing school/work/etc. takes a lot of effort. In this instance, it most certainly did in that my husband is deployed, I had to ensure I had the valium to give to my 5-year-old ahead of time and drop my 2-year-old off early to make the appointment. I was already nervous about giving my 5-year-old the meds but understood that he needed x-rays because he was not cooperative the previous visit. He wasn't rude or kicking or screaming, he was scared and just said no. I was asked to provide him with the meds 1 hour prior to the appointment, which I did. I arrived in the parking lot and received paperwork before I went in that discussed the possible scenarios for the procedure (x-rays and possible cavity filling) and other terms. I had spoken to the staff previously about side effects, things to know ahead of time, etc. and it was never mentioned that if he had run a fever within 2 weeks of the appointment, they would not see him. I notified them that he had ran a fever 5 days prior, went to the doc, was negative for covid and strep and doc said he was good to go back to school and continue with his normal days. I then get a text saying he can't come in as I am in the hallway waiting to go into the office. I understand the protocol for illness, procedures with fevers, exposing other kids, etc. What really made me upset is the fact that in all the times I had spoken to the staff I was never told this 2-week rule for fevers. The paperwork I received was 30 minutes before my appointment and 30 minutes after I had already provided him with the drugs. A simple call the day before to go over those types of questions when you know that I am about to give my child a drug ahead of time seems like a simple process improvement that can be made. I am not mad about him not being seen for the reason of the fever 5 days prior, I get there are strict rules in place these days. I am upset that as a pediatric office, the lack of empathy towards a parent for cancelling her appointment after she has provided her son with a drug and saying it's my fault for not reading the papers you sent literally while I was in the parking lot waiting to go into the appointment after I had given him the drug. I am a pretty reasonable person, but this really was the straw that broke it all today for me. Had it been a normal cleaning or regular visit, I might not have been upset. But I was left with a 5-year-old who was still on the valium, can't take him back to school, can't go into work and now looking for a new Dentist that I will have to get him comfortable with and possibly another dose of the drug. But I was told it was my fault for not reading the papers - the ones I was texted with 30 min prior. Please create a process improvement for patients who are going to have to take drugs ahead of time and have some empathy towards your parents without telling them it's all their fault.

Both of my children, 13 and 17 have been seeing Dr. Scott for over 10 years and won't go anywhere else. He makes them feel at ease and speaks to them in a professional, yet comfortable manner so that they understand everything happening. He explains what's about to happen and my kids trust him completely which I think is hugely important. He's thorough in explaining to the parents what's needed and not needed and even calls to check on them after appointments. Dr. Scott truly cares about what's best for the kids!
