Dr. Vinita Patel attended North Carolina State University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Kentucky. She has lived in Charlotte since 2000.
Dr. Patel is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance her skills to better serve the dental care needs of her patients and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.
In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, at her local gym burning calories or doing yoga to heal the spirit and mind. Aside from dentistry, dancing is her second love. Her dream is to one day open a Bollywood Dance Studio in Charlotte.

I've haven't been to the dentist in years but I will definitely be back. Oksana was so great with me, she was knowledgeable and did such a great job working on my teeth. The dentist was super sweet and informative. I would recommend this office in the future!

Everyone is super nice and very welcoming. Dr. Rachel is super sweet and explains everything she's doing as she does it. They genuinely care about your comfort and well-being. Highly recommend.

Ballantyne Family Dental made my recent trip to the dentist a very great experience. From the staff to the office itself, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. Very straightforward as well with insurance and pricing so you will not be blindsided. During my visit the hygienist Sonam and Dr. Patel made me feel very comfortable while doing both my cleanings and a filling I had to get. Normally this is a procedure I would be dreading but they made it easy and efficient. They also seem to genuinely care about their patients well being as a patient and in life. They even had TVs mounted above each chair that you can watch Netflix on while you are getting your cleanings. Ballantyne Family Dental is a wonderful practice and I would recommend them to anyone. My wife and I will both be booking our dental appointments with them in the future.

Love this place!! I had not seen a dentist in two years due to the last one being awful. I have high anxiety when it comes to the dentist and the entire team waaaaay sweet and totally calmed my nerves the entire time. Highly recommend!

My wife and I recently moved to the Ballantyne area and needed to find a new dentistry practice. We are very pleased with our decision to choose Ballantyne Family Dental. Their office and equipment is very clean and modern. We also found their entire staff (front desk, hygienist, a dentist) to be incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. They truly care about positive patient experience. I would recommend Ballantyne Family Dental to anyone.

Everyone from the front desk to Dr. Patel has been amazing! I had a deep cleaning and later a root canal and crown, and the whole team was attentive and made me feel at ease during the whole process, making sure I was okay. I will be taking my daughter there and will definitely recommend Ballantyne Family Dental to my friends and family!

The best dentist office I've ever been to! Everyone is friendly and inviting .I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Patel, she's amazing!! Anyone I asked a question to from the front desk to the back, answered all my questions without making me feel less then. Never thought I'd look forward to going back to the dentist. Non transparency in what the insurance will cover vs what you pay out of pocket. I have never had to pay out of pocket for preventative dental cleaning except for this place. While the staff and Dr. Vinita will make you feel welcome but they will upsell you on every non essential service available like buying an electric toothbrush or getting additional dental services that are really not needed. I would recommend that you go to Waverly Dental instead where the folks genuinely care about people and are completely transparent upfront and would never unnecessary upsell on services.

I would give this 3 stars but I really did not enjoy my experience. The dentist or nurse, I am unsure, ran out of water in her cleaning device and I was left alone for over 20 minutes. I do not understand how changing the water could leave a patient for 20 minutes! I was told about problems of my teeth when viewing the x-rays but Dr.Patel never showed those x ray images to me. I've been to multiple dentists in the past and doctors have all shown me those images but I never got to see mine. If my insurance or I am paying for it, I believe I have a right to see it. In the future I will not be coming back, but other than those issues the experience was fine. I hope with your future patients you take these into account.

I am relatively new to the Charlotte area so I needed a new dentist. I am very happy I found this practice. Everyone working here has a team commitment to caring for their patients. Each person in the practice exhibits competence and kindness. They create a fun and positive atmosphere and they take great care of you. I was impressed and I'll highly recommend them to family and friends.

This dentist got mad because I would not let her do my fillings and will not release my information to my dentist. I should of knew something was wrong when I ask to fill release form inside dentist and they stated they would send them to me. I then had to call for them to send me release form sheet and when I sent it back I texted just to see if they received and they never respond so I left it alone thinking they would send this was on September 23. Today October 3 my dentist that doing my fillings called and I asked have they received my information and X-rays they informed me no. When calling Ballantyne Family Dental they kept putting me on hold without telling if they sent the information so when calling back the third time I ask same information and the lady said someone will call me back I was like no because I have been placed on hold and I need to know if you sent the information and where did you send it this when the lady start giving me incorrect email and I was lie this is not what I typed on the release form. This when Petal got on the phone and tried to say I was rude I asked her how was I being rude when just asking about where they sent my information and they keep giving me the run around and giving me incorrect email when I gave the correct information in the release form. Patel is rude and unprofessional. When she said she would send information to my email I informed her i did not ask her to send me the information i told her to send it to the dentist. When off the phone I called my dentist that's doing fillings and they said they would call when my dentist called they give them four different emails and my dentist still have not received the information. This against hipaa and law. The email they sent me i can not email to the dentist.

I was disappointed that when I showed up for my exam I was told because I was pregnant and didn't feel comfortable getting X-rays today that I could not be seen at all. However, Dr. Patel reached out and was courteous after my experience.

I scheduled an appointment to get my permanent retainers removed because they both broke. They were able to get me in the soonest out of any of the other places I called. Doctors and staff are so nice, my appointment was smooth and efficient. They removed my permanent retainers and scanned my teeth for my clear retainers in the same day. Very happy with the service I received and for how well my clear retainers turned out! Thank you so much!

Brittany and Mel at front desk were warm and welcoming faces from the moment I stepped into the office to checking out. Dr. Rachel took the time to explain my treatment to me, as well as provided me with all of my options. Even though I was nervous they helped me and calmed my nerves. This is the first time I have ever felt relaxed at a dental office. There was no detail missed out when it came to what my out of pocket would be. I recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Patel and her staff at Ballantyne Family Dental are always warm, friendly, and professional. I feel cared for as soon as I enter the office. Scheduling appointments, dental hygiene, and dental consultation were all a great experience. The team is also very responsive in addressing concerns/questions. Highly recommended!
