Dr. Donald Balhoff is a native of Baton Rouge and an alumnus of Catholic High School (Baton Rouge). He completed his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1995 at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. While in college, Dr. Balhoff was a three-year captain of the Notre Dame Mens Water Polo team.

His dental studies were completed in 1999 at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. During dental school, Dr. Balhoff was a member and president of the C. Edmund Kells Honor Society. He went on to receive his orthodontics specialty certification in 2001 at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Balhoff has been a solo practitioner in his own orthodontics practice since 2004.

Dr. Balhoff stays current with the latest advances in dentistry and his specialty of orthodontics through his membership in multiple organizations and extensive participation in dental and orthodontic continuation education courses across the country. Dr. Balhoff is proficient in the use of straight-wire orthodontic technique, the use of functional appliances, clear aligners, and the placement and use of Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs). He has been designated as a Gold Plus Provider of Invisalign and is one of the leading, most experienced providers of Invisalign treatment in the Acadiana region.

Dr. Balhoff is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Southern Association of Orthodontists (SAO), the Louisiana Association of Orthodontists (LAO), the Louisiana Dental Association (LDA), and the Acadiana District Dental Association (ADDA).

On the national level, Dr. Balhoff has been the AAOs Political Action Committee captain for Louisiana since 2014. In this role, Dr. Balhoff has met with numerous United States Congressmen and Congresswomen on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to discuss and advocate for the political concerns of the AAO and the orthodontic profession. From 2014-2021, Dr. Balhoff also had the honor of being chosen to represent all the orthodontists in Louisiana as Louisianas only member of the AAOs House of Delegates, which determines policies for the entire orthodontic profession. Dr. Balhoff is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the SAO, which has almost 2000 orthodontist members in 11 states throughout the Southeastern United States. Dr. Balhoff will become President of the SAO in 2027.

Because of his extensive knowledge and experience in dentistry, the latest orthodontic techniques, and the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Balhoff has been a guest speaker for dental professional organizations, civic organizations, and schools.

Dr. Balhoff is also involved in the Acadiana community. He is an active member of St. John the Evangelist (Cathedral) parish in Lafayette as a Mass lector. Dr. Balhoff also volunteers extensively as the head coach/moderator of Cathedral-Carmel School swim team and an assistant swim coach and USA Swimming meet official with City of Lafayette Aquatics USA swim team.

Dr. Balhoff resides in Lafayette with his wife Kristin, daughter Ella, son Jack, and daughter Lucy. His time outside of orthodontics is spent exercising regularly at Red Lerilles health club, reading history and political thriller novels, and spending time with his family.

Im from Lafayette but I grew up in Cecilia, and graduatedfrom Cecilia High School in 2002. Then I attendedAcadiana Area Career College to becomea dental assistant in 2010.I work with Dr. Balhoff on all new patients and observation patients to ensure that they have the best experience as possible! I also meet with patients and parents about the various treatment options that will best suit themselves or their children based on their unique needs and goals. I coordinate the financial terms of the treatment to ensure the treatment terms fit within the patients budget as best as possible. The best part of my job is definitely the peopleboth our patients and my coworkers! I love them all, and theyve become like family to me.

I married my husband Drew in 2014. We have three girls named Eugenee, Graci, and Sabyn, twodogs, and a cat. I enjoy hunting, fishing, swimming, going to the camp for the weekend, reading books, and spending time with family and friends.

I am so happy to have joined Balhoff Orthodontics and the wonderful group of people who work so hard to make our patients smile! I get to work directly with our patients as I assist Dr. Balhoff with their smile-creating treatments. Seeing the finished results of beautiful, straight teeth is the highlight of my days!

I graduated from the Dental/Ortho at Academy of Acadiana and joined Dr. Balhoffs team in 2017, where I assist Dr. Balhoff with all orthodontic procedures and ensure that our patients have a great experience. I love watching the progress and final outcome of our patients smiles, and being a part of such an amazing team! Everyone is eager to help in our patients smile journeys.

I am an avid art and animal lover. I have two ferrets named Mugen and Cleopatra, a dog named Nellie,and a cat named Phoebe. My hobbies include cycling, anime, video games, reading, and distressing furniture.

I am a graduate of Acadiana Area Career College and EDDA Certified. I was first a part of Balhoff Orthodontics from 2014 to 2015 when I briefly moved out of state. When I returned in 2017, it was with open arms! Everyone here works as a team and its a great work environment! I am responsible for keeping our lab organized, making retainers, and pouring models for retainers and appliances. There is nothing better than seeing a patients smiles transform.

I brought my knowledge and experience in finances and marketing to Dr. Balhoffs office in 2018. I invite new patients to our practice, build relationships with local dentists, maintain social media/advertising, and create fun contests and events for our patients. I enjoy getting to know our patients and their families and watching how excited our patients get when they see start to see the results of their teeth moving! Everyone at Balhoff Orthodontics is always willing to step up any time someone needs a bit of help and everyone treats each other like family. Its a great place to spend my days!

Im marrying my fianc Tony in 2020. I have a sweet little boy named Madden and two dogs, Banzai and Zumi. I enjoy festivals, camping, cycling, and music! I am a jack of all trades and have a few home businesses, as well as help local musicians and music venues with their marketing.
