Do you ever worry about cleanliness in dental offices? We go above and beyond for you, exceeding the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for a clean and safe practice. We have a dedicated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology, where every instrument is disinfected, and made ready before your visit. We also sanitize each room between patients, and we use a closed water system (rather than everyday tap water). We worry about the cleanliness of our office so youll never have to!

Our team at Balcones Family Dental is fully trained, skilled, and certified to provide you with the expertise you are looking for. We fulfill our responsibility to continuing education by attending dental conventions, seminars, and lectures and keeping up-to-date on the latest dental technologies and procedures. We are always searching for ways to better serve you and your family as patients.

Children typically become receptive to dental care and cooperative for routine dental visits around age 3 or 4, but parents should start inspecting their childrens mouth as early as they get teeth. Establish good oral health habits by making teeth brushing fun for your child! Play brushing games using a flashlight to shine in your childs mouth, tickle them to make them laugh and open wide, or consider a rewards system for teeth brushing. Be as regular as you can so your child not only gets used to teeth brushing but also grows to understand that it is important.

Balcones Family Dental - General dentist in Austin, TX

When children are old enough for a dental visit, we start them out with a happy visit at our office. The main purpose of this visit is for children to get comfortable with us and the office environment, and we will do as much or as little as they will allow so the experience is positive and nothing is forced. We have found that by doing this, children will soon let us take a digital wellness scan, clean their teeth, and perform an examination of their entire mouth. This enables us to detect cavities and possible orthodontic needs early, which in turn makes more conservative and cost-efficient treatment possible. We perform early cavity detection in our office with laser-assisted decay detection technology called Diagnodent. See our Services page for more info!

I had a very good first experience with Balcones Family Dental. Everyone was courteous and professional. They spent so much more time with me than any dental I had been to previously. So far, highly recommended.

The best dentist I have found in Austin. I went to another local dentist and Balcones Family Dental has blown them out of the water in one visit. They are so kind, and so intelligent, on all aspects of the body. They will sort your concerns and fears out gorgeously. I can't thank them enough for helping me with concerns other doctors struggled to. Highly highly recommend!!!

My dentist for 10+ years has earned this recommendation by consistently promoting a customer-centric way of doing business. They have a friendly staff that has grasped the idea that smiles and attitudes are contagious. Over the years, wife and daughters tired of lesser treatment in other offices and migrated here. They text you a reminder before your appointment, handle the insurance stuff, and treat you like a valued client every time.

If you are new to Austin and looking for a dentist, this is your place! I had my first visit today and the entire process from calling and scheduling an appointment to checking out was flawless. Every person I interacted with was kind and respectful. They took their time to get to know me and gave me honest opinions/options for treatments moving forward. I'm usually not a huge fan of the dentist but I genuinely enjoyed my visit today! Thank you Casey and Dr. Maddox!

I feel like I hit the jackpot finding this dentist office for our family. Dr Maddox is great, front office staff is wonderful/friendly, billing has never once been an issue and I can't say enough good things about all the technicians. They run on time which is a huge deal to me with my busy schedule. They never rush our appointments and seem to always be well staffed and like they actually like each other. Everyone is consistently friendly and easy to work with. 5 stars all the way!

Dr.Maddox is an excellent dentist. I trust his judgement and recommendations. Kris, dental hygienist, did a very thorough job cleaning my teeth. Rhonda, financial manager, explained my financial responsibility after insurance. Everyone I encounter there is friendly and knowledgeable.

I got a piece of popcorn stuck in the back of my mouth. For days, I tried to get it out; however, it refused to be removed. I kept digging at it, and I finally got it out, or so I thought. The next morning when I woke up my mouth was swollen and it hurt like no bodies business. I had a horrific experience getting my wisdom teeth removed (somewhere else) and it felt worse than that. I called around to several places in the area, I don't have insurance and I haven't been able to get into a dentist since 2018. I would like to say that I chose this place because they had great reviews or something like that but that is not the case. I chose this place because they were the only ones who had availability and boy am I glad! Sometime during the day I realized that I could see part of the popcorn hull still stuck. I used a toothpick and managed to get the other half of the hull out. Within the hour the swelling had reduced, I felt so much better, but I want to head with the appointment just because I wanted to be safe. Someone in my family died because of a tooth related issue and while I understand that it's fairly uncommon, you know how horror stories from people you know and love tend to weigh heavier on your heart. Anyway, I'm nervous because I've had some bad experiences with dentists, but they made me feel right at home. Dr. Maddox answered all my questions and gave me some hope about being able to straighten my teeth. The last time I talk to a doctor about it, they said that I would need braces, and it would cost about $10,000-$15,000. I don't have that kind of money, but I recognize that I have some issues with my teeth because overcrowding makes them hard to brush. I need to get some fillings and then I'm hoping to work with them on fixing my teeth! I have never been so happy coming from a dentist office ever in my life. Thank you guys so much! Keep doing what you do! Everyone was also super friendly and super kind and super informative. While my husband isn't a fan of chatty medical personnel, I have way too many questions, and because of some of my traumatic past experiences, I love medical personnel who are like these guys I just wanna get to know you. It helps me feel more comfortable and relieved.
