Our surgeons and staff have focused our practice around patient care since opening our doors in 1993. We believe in personalized oral surgery experiences and work together with patients when designing treatment plans and guiding them through recovery. Through a variety of treatments available, we are able to tend to the oral health needs of more people. For exceptional oral and maxillofacial surgery care in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, turn to the experts at Balaci Oral and Facial Surgery.

It is our goal to provide exceptional surgical care in a friendly, safe, and healing environment. By creating a connection with patients, remaining transparent and honest, and practicing superior clinical skills, we ensure our patients have the most comfortable experiences and most beneficial results possible.

Dr. Balaci and Dr. Murphy are highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons who perform a wide range of oral surgery services and cosmetic treatments. They are members of numerous national organizations and have been serving patients in Lebanon, PA, and surrounding neighborhoods.

Every member of our team is a skilled professional who will treat you with respect, honesty, and kindness. You can always expect a friendly face upon walking through our doors, and a member of our staff is always happy to help if you need assistance.

Dr. Alexandre Balaci grew up in Binghamton, NY, where he practiced as an associate surgeon for the first 2 years after his residency training. In 1993, Dr. Balaci opened his first private practice and has continued to participate in the medical and dental communities of Lebanon and Hershey in a practice focused on the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Balaci is a founding partner of Balaci Oral and Facial Surgery. He is also on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Josephs Medical Center. His clinical interests lie within the fields of facial aesthetics and dental implant reconstruction.

Dr. Balaci completed his undergraduate studies at Hobart College in Geneva, NY, where he obtained a BS degree in chemistry. He entered dental school at Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in 1983. Upon graduation, Dr. Balaci obtained multiple awards in science and surgery and received a DMD degree.

Dr. Murphy was inspired to pursue oral and maxillofacial surgery by his father and grandfather, who were both oral surgeons. Interested in the bridge between medicine and dentistry, he was drawn to the broad scope of surgery and the unique privilege of administering anesthesia.

Dr. Murphy has served in the US Army and Air Force, dedicating many years of his life to helping others. He was awarded a health profession scholarship and attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, he began practicing in the Air Force. While serving active duty in the Air Force, Dr. Murphy was a faculty member of the Uniformed Services University at Walter Reed Naval Military Medical Center and Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics where he trained residents and provided care to service members and their families. Dr. Murphy is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

When providing for patients who are nervous, he puts them at ease by using humor while acknowledging their reasons for feeling anxious. His middle son has autism, which has made him particularly sensitive to families who care for children with special needs. Dr. Murphy values teamwork and enjoys collaborating with other members of a patients care team to provide the most effective and beneficial treatment possible.

After graduating from Boston College in 1998, Dr. Murphy joined the US Army where he served overseas tours in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, in 2000 and Iraq in 2003. He left the Army in 2005 and began dental school at Tufts University in Boston, earning his DMD and graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009.

Dr. Murphy joined the Air Force and graduated from the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska in 2010. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California in 2015.

Dr. Murphy is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), and a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He maintains Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

Dr. Murphy enjoys playing tennis, running with his wife, and spending time with his three boys. Three fun facts about him are that he is a military veteran who served in Iraq and earned a Bronze Star, he is one of six children, and he has a Bernese mountain dog.

First time having a tooth pulled, it was my wisdom tooth, partially impacted. I wanted to be awake was scared. The staff and dentist were sensitive to my feelings, very kind and caring. Dentist made sure everything was numb before he started and continued to ask how I was throughout the procedure. Highly recommend them.

The office sent links to my phone so I was able to fill out my forms a day ahead of my visit. Only one form to sign at appt. time. My procedure was explained in detail and went very well. The doctor chatted for a few minutes afterward. I was given instructions for recovery and was on my way home.

Dr Murphy's extraction skills are amazing! I was awake and felt no discomfort! The entire staff are wonderful! All very nice and welcoming. The system at the front desk was a bit confusing...wasnt set up for Care credit, couldnt answer questions about my insurance and I did not get a reminder for my initial visit. However, the receptionist was lovely. All staff was personable & awesome!

Literally just got off the phone with whoever answered the phone at the Lebanon office. I only called to ask if my daughter, after having a locked jaw incident, should see a Oral and Maxillofacial for a follow-up which was recommended by the ER doctor. The person just kept saying, "I dont know. Been working here 4 years, I've never scheduled anyone for it." The person did not seem to want to be helpful. I eventually asked if someone else might know, like a nurse. She placed me on hold and the call dropped after a few seconds. I was a worried parent looking for guidance for my child.

Dr. Murphy and staff dealt with my tooth pain promptly and with compassion. Very good experience from the patient's perspective. The only change that I'd recommend for the practice is to accept Medicare.

I'm not into pain and the Dr did his best to prepare me prior to the shots of novacaine and I was out in ten minutes from start to finish of pulling my tooth.
