Dr. Sani-Khatam opened the Bala Oral Health Center in 1999 and has since been the primary dentist. However, his experience in dentistry far exceeds the 19+ years. Dr. Sani-Khatam graduated from The University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1983. He later taught at the University for several years.
Dr. Sani Khatam completed two years of General Practice Residency at The University of Pennsylvania, after which he completed two years of Oral Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Sani-Khatam is certified in Orthodontics, the treatment and diagnosis of TMJ, and Dental Implants.
Dr. Etemad graduated from The University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1996. From 2001 to 2002, she was the Director of the General Practice Residency Program at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She practiced general dentistry at various offices in the area and in New Orleans, LA, before joining our team in April 2012.
Angelique, our office manager, brings more than 10 years of dental office management experience and knowledge to our practice. Her work includes conducting treatment planning conferences with our patients to discuss all available treatment options and financial concerns. In addition, Angelique keeps the office running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Let her know if you have any questions or concerns, as she is always ready to help with a smile.
Nahid, the office's head dental assistant manager, puts her wealth of knowledge to the test, while working primarily with Dr. Sani-Khatam. In addition to her commitment to patient comfort, Nahid is a very caring, sweet and dedicated member of our dental team.
Addie has many years of experience in dentistry, both as a dental assistant and as a dental administrative assistant. While she takes the job very seriously, she always has a big smile on her face and a cheerful and pleasant demeanor.

Dr Sani lied and said braces weren't covered to get my money I find out a year later it was covered and he never submitted the claim to my insurance! He's nasty even if you've been a customer for years and is willing to talk at women and tell them "shoo" instead of asking what's wrong to rectify a situation because Angel the office manager (who gets nasty with late patients and has an idgaf attitude) often says people owe amounts they do not. They have a high turnover even for employees. The only 2 standing are always Sani and Angel. All in all the office will try to work you over and get every coin out of you they can. BEWARE!

Who knew getting braces would be sooo easy! The entire process has been painless, affordable and convenient. Easy follow-up appts and wonderful results! Dr. Sani gets 2 thumbs from me! So glad I chose Bala Oral health for all my dental/ortho needs. Friendly staff and clean environment!

I have been using this practice for over fifteen years. The staff is professional and friendly. There are no long waits from the time you are scheduled to the time that you are seen. I've had cleanings, root canal, and crowns done by this practice and the work is always stellar. They rake the time to explain what they're doing and why and always offer suggestions for optimal oral health. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dentist or hygienist!

I went to another dentist with them telling me I was gonna need to remove most of my back teeth and get dentures. Going to Bala Oral Center and having Dr. Sonni take a look at my mouth, he was able to save what little molars I had. Even though I don't go back as frequently as I should, Dr. Sonni and his dental team are the reason I will keep going back. Thank you Dr. Sonni and Nicole for your hard work.

My experience was amazing from the front desk, dental hygienists, and the doc. I was taken back AT MY APOINTMENT TIME which was great since I had to go back to work and everyone was super friendly. I am typically not a fan of dental appointments but with them having the latest technology it really put me at ease. Customer service is excellent and I will definitely be going back!

I love this office. They have great customer service and listen to their patients. I have really sensitive teeth and I always get nervous before a cleaning. Bala oral health made me extremely comfortable and I didn't feel a thing !! I would highly recommend this office!

I absolutely love Dr. Sani! He's the best dentist I've ever encountered. I'm comfortable and relaxed whenever I'm in his chair! The office staff is always very pleasant and professional.
