Dr. Mendivil graduated with honors from Creighton University Dental School in 1981 and completed his orthodontic residency at U.C. San Francisco Medical Center in 1983. Over the years he has served as an orthodontic consultant for the California Central Health Plan and the California Central Advisory Committee.
Not only does he specialize in orthodontics for children and adults but he also treats severe surgical orthodontic cases, Temporal Mandibular Dysfunctions (TMJ or TMD) and cleft palate deformities. He has practiced in Southern California for over 30years. He divides his time between his practice in Bakersfield, California and Oceanside, California.

I've tried calling them to reschedule and no response from them, I decided to stop by their office and found out they're moving across town with no previous notice from them .

I absolutely hated this place staff is very rude except about two of my knowledge. I was there for 4 years with my braces an doctors seemed to be in a out of my room very quickly each visit with very little to say. I can not count the times my gums where nicked with tools causing me to bleed an have terrible pain for a couple of days. That happened just about every time I went in for a visit. The doctor was very rude an unprofessional making personal remarks when I visit for the last time. Each visit I was not sure of what I was having done for work they would not mention so I highly recommend parents go with there kids!!! When I had my braces removed I had several teeth left with residue an was told it was just my natural tooth. It was not my natural tooth it was left over residue for my braces which they refused to take off an proceeded to tell me I was just used to my braces. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!

Very friendly staff. Did not wait long at all to be seen. They took my daughter back quickly and the check up did not take too long. Would definitely recommend to others!

Bakersfield Orthodontist staff is always respectful and always makes sure everything is going okay. The office is always clean and organized.

Horrible in every sense of the word. Took long to book appointments or reschedule. To get seen it took a long time even though it's only appointments. Staff was incredibly rude and the main orthodontist was really disrespectful. Even friends who have been with them left because they were horrible, we all switched to Thurman which had my braces off in a fraction of the time.
