Dr. Baker grew up in Wichita, Kansas.As a child he spent a lot of his time on the golf course. This passion led him to pursue a career as a professional golfer. When he realized he could not make a putt past 3 feet, he was forced to seek another passion.Because of this,Dr. Bakerdecided to pursue a career in dentistry. Once he sethis golf clubs aside, he returned to the University of Nebraska. Dr. Baker graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School, College of Dentistry in May 1980. Upon graduatingheestablished a general dental practice in Enid, Oklahoma. Dr. Baker later opened a satellite office in Tulsa, which was also a general dental practice.
In 1992, he attended a meetingfor theAmerican Academy of Head, Neck and Facial Pain(Opens in a new window), and he became more interested intemporomandibular dysfunctions. With this interest, Dr. Baker changed his practice from generaldentistry to a referral-based pain and dysfunction practice.
In 1998, Dr. Baker openedan office in Wichita, Kansas, limiting it to the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunctions and orofacial pain. He openedhis secondofficein 2001 at Southcrest Medical Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Stephanie started as a patient of Dr. Bakers in 2000. She went through Phase One treatment and then did Phase Two, consisting of braces in 2003. During her treatment, Dr. Baker offered her a position at his office. She said, Absolutely! and now, 16 years later, she still loves her job. Stephanie enjoys all of our patients and the fact that she can empathize with them since she has been through many of the same symptoms and situationsthey have gone through.
Stephanie and her husband, Doug, were married in June 2007. They have two daughters who were born in 2009 and 2012. They keep them on their feet!The last few years have truly been a learning process and have been filled with many exciting times. They love being with their families, being outside and learning as they go with their kids!
