Beautiful smiles are in Dr. Baker 's blood! 'One of my earliest memories is of hanging out in Dad 's dental office, and riding up and down in the chairs,' he said. The senior doctor, Guy Baker, completed his specialty training in orthodontics in 1968. His children, including Brad, grew up around the profession, so it was a natural fit for him to pursue the field of orthodontics himself, a few years later.
After graduating from San Pasqual High School in Escondido, Dr. Brad attended Brigham Young University on two academic scholarships and earned a Bachelors degree in Zoology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at UCLA School of Dentistry and was involved in research in the department of orthodontics, doing early pioneering work in the use of dental implants as anchorage for orthodontic treatment. Dr. Baker completed a Hospital Dentistry Residency at the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry and acquired an excellent background in emergency dentistry and in the area of combined orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Baker attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he received advanced training and certification in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, earning a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. In 1988, Dr. Baker joined his father and founder of Baker Orthodontics, Dr. Guy Baker, in his orthodontic practice in Escondido, where they had the great pleasure of practicing together for five years until his fathers retirement.
Dr. Baker and his wife, Angie, have three beautiful children, Julia, Alex, and Shannon. As a family, they are firm believers in the value of education. Angie is very involved at the childrens school and serves on the school board. Dr. Baker frequently lectures at elementary schools on biology and the importance of dental health. He is, himself, a perpetual student, currently studying, among other things, Spanish and history.
The Bakers are active in church service and youth programs. As an Eagle Scout, Dr. Baker has worked with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and appreciates the impact it has on the lives of the youth it serves.Dr. Baker also enjoys camping, water sports, fishing, woodwork, travel, and just hanging out with his wife and kids!
We take the time to listen to and cater to the individual needs and concerns of our patients. Dr. Baker is very thorough in diagnosing and treatment planning and he will spend time making sure that our patients are comfortable with the recommended treatment. He takes a comprehensive view of the problem, and seeks a treatment solution that will result in not only a beautiful smile, but a balanced face as well.He is very hands-on with his treatment style and personally sees each patient at every visit.All this is what we mean by our slogan, Hand-Crafted Smiles. A word about treatment timing for children:There are varying philosophies in the orthodontic world on what is the best time to begin treatment, and what problems should be treated early.Dr. Baker has developed a conservative approach to treatment timing.There are certainspecificproblems that can and should be treated as early as age seven or eight (the best age for a first examination), However, we feel that most orthodontic problems are best treated when all of the permanent teeth are coming in.Many studies have shown that single-phase treatmentsprovide results that are comparable to two-phase treatments, but they do it with much less cost to the patient and much less time in the orthodontic office.Our approach is to see the patient early and monitor the development until the timing is right before beginning treatment.
Our practice philosophy is, in a nutshell:We will treat you as if you were a member of our own family.We will recommend for you only the treatment that we feel is in your very best interest.We will begin treatment only when you are ready, and then we will work very hard to create for you the beautiful, healthy smile that you have dreamed of having.

Neelab and Cyrus are the absolute BEST! I have been with them for over 10 months and not only have a gorgeous smile to show for it, but also a new-found confidence to smile that has impacted my life in countless positive ways. From the beginning of my first appointment they were both so wonderfully friendly and welcoming that I immediately felt at ease. Beyond that, however, they were immensely knowledgeable and incredibly receptive to my needs and concerns. They answered all my questions, spent the time to weigh all my options with me, gave me personalized advice, and as a bonus it was clearly a supportive and no-judgement space. They were genuinely concerned with giving me the best care, which I really appreciated. HE'S A CROOK. WE GAVE HIM $6500 AND HE WONT EVEN CALL US BACK. HE'S THE WORST. ASK AROUND. TERRIBLE GUY. HE CAN'T LOOK PATIENTS IN THE EYES. IN MY OPINION HE SHOULD LOSE HIS LICENSE. I WORK WITH DENTISTS FOR A LIVING AND HE'S BAD, REALLY BAD. MY ADVICE STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS.
