Kyle G. Baker, DMD Dr. Kyle G. Baker is our orthodontist serving Bakersfield locals. Although he is a practicing orthodontist, his five years of experience working in general dentistry have given him a broad understanding of his patients general oral health. His goal as an orthodontist is to treat each individual as he would if they were a member of his own family. Dr. Baker is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). He is also associated with the CDA, ADA, PCSO and Kern Dental Society. He consistently strives to stay up to date and innovative in the orthodontic industry, and he goes above and beyond with continuing education hours and the training required by the state. After completing his undergrad at Southern Utah University, Dr. Baker went on to attend Nova Southeastern University to study dental science. He received his diploma in 2004 and was accepted by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he became chief and graduated in 2012. Married for over 25 years, Dr. Baker has three wonderful children with his wife, and together, they enjoy the outdoors. Besides being a family man, Dr. Baker also describes himself as an avid sports fan. This competitive spirit keeps him at his best always!

Dr. Jessica Mahlmann, DDS, MS Dr. Jessica Mahlmann is an orthodontist serving our patients here at Baker Orthodontics. Her attention to detail and focus on esthetics makes her patient care exceptional. While she strives for perfection in every case, Dr. M is sensitive to the needs of every individual and treating the whole person. Dr. M is a member of the AAO, ADA, CDA, PCSO, and KCDS. After graduating from College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Chemistry, she attended dental school at Columbia University, one of the few programs that includes two years of medical school. Her residency was completed at SUNY Stony Brook, where she received her Advanced Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Oral Biology and Pathology. She was specially trained in the latest technology and techniques orthodontics has to offer today, including how to treat multidisciplinary cases and craniofacial anomalies. Recently married, Dr. M resides in Bakersfield where her husband was born and raised. They enjoy the outdoors with their unruly labradoodle, camping, and Bible study. Dr. M is grateful for the wonderful community of Bakersfield and to be serving you!

Carla Silva Carla joined our team in 2018 and instantly brought an energy that forever changed the dynamics of Baker Orthodontics. New to the dental field, she was eager to learn, and soon after, her passion for orthodontics was born.She immersed herself into Dr. Bakers vision and philosophy and quickly became our office administrator. Her knowledge in management and health care made this role an easy one, but her commitment to our team and patients is why she shines in her job. She is a busy wife and mom outside of work, but this health nut juggles everything with grace. She has a huge family that she is very close with this must be why she takes care of our team and patients so well!

Emily Emily is our patient coordinator. She loves our fun, hard-working team and enjoys interacting with our patients. Since 2009, she has seen Baker Orthodontics as her home away from home. She is proud to be a part of our team, and if you come in, she will be sure to make you laugh! Emily has a big family that she is very close to and is a proud mother and wife. Crazy Emily is always silly and keeps us on our toes!

Julie Julie has been with Baker Orthodontics since 2012. As a registered dental orthodontic assistant, she is an important part of our team. For her, the best part of being on the Baker Orthodontics team is how much everyone cares for the patients and one another. Julie and her husband have five beautiful children, and together, they stay busy with soccer, Girl Scouts and jiu-jitsu. A jack-of-all-trades, this mom can do it all! If you need the last word in a crossword puzzle, bets are she knows it. When not being mom of the year at home, she is the mom of Baker Orthodontics, and we are so thankful!

Lisa Committed to Baker Orthodontics, Lisa has been with us since 2004. Before coming here, Lisa graduated from dental school in 1996 and worked in pediatric dentistry, which makes her perfect for our younger patients that need extra care. Her peers describe her as a solid dependable and hardworking co-worker. Lisa is married and has three amazing children: Brody, Easton and Emersyn. They keep her busy with camping trips, dirt bikes and having fun at the lake!

Vanessa Vanessa has worked at Baker Orthodontics since 2005. Working as a registered dental orthodontic assistant and our back office team lead, she has proven herself as a fun, flexible and capable member of our orthodontic family. Vanessa attended San Joaquin College, graduating in 1996. Vanessas spirit shines in her passion for work. She and her husband, Brian, have two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Megan, and do not forget the puppies! They are always outdoors on fun family adventures. You can catch this family flying by on sand rails in the desert most of the time!

Kari Our treatment coordinator, Kari, has been working at Baker Orthodontics for years and often jokes that she has been here most of her life. Kari believes that every patient deserves a beautiful healthy smile, and she helps every patient step by step to make that happen! She shows everyone how much she loves her job daily! Everything Kari does is with love, patience and accuracy. These skills help her shine as a dedicated wife, proud mother of two girls and Jeopardy mega fan! Kari stays up to date on all current events and would most definitely be working at TMZ if she were not here at Baker Orthodontics!

Kim Kim has been with Baker Orthodontics as an RDAOA for many years. She has used her knowledge and commitment to make us an amazing team. With Kim, it is all about the details! Kim loves her job and co-workers and considers them family. Kim has a busy family life as a wife, mom and grandma, aka MiMi. Her perfect day would be decorating for the holidays at home with her family as the rain falls. Her decorating skills can be seen in our office; she is our decorating queen. When she is not busy with family, she loves traveling, hiking and finding trinkets at antique shops.

Krystal Harmon Our fun-loving Krystal is our records coordinator and a one-of-a-kind person assisting patients in the dental field for over 10 years. She is one of the first people you meet when you come into Baker Orthodontics. Her passion for her job will immediately put you at ease, and she will know all about your life before she is done with your beginning photos! On most days, our patients come in asking for their friend Krystal because she makes such an impression on them. Married with eight combined children, this mom can juggle work, sports, dinner and everything in between. She rarely has downtime, but when she does, she is most likely at Morro Bay with her loving husband, Mikey.

Cierra Cierra is our clinical assistant and came to Baker Orthodontics with years of excellent customer service and a passion for learning. A crafty mom of two, she considers herself an amateur food critic and a huge Giants fan. It is obvious when in her company that she is meticulous, a bit of an old soul that is an ease to be around. In a way, it feels like she has always been here, and we are so ecstatic to have her as one of our team members.

Melissa Melissa brings a youthful energy and humble personality to our practice. She values excellent patient care and enjoys being part of an experienced team. We love how she comes in each day with a great attitude and contagious smile ready to work. Melissa will always go the extra mile for our patients, just like she does for her own family and puppy, which she adores. She is a true team player.

Taylor You will see Taylors smiling face all over the office. A genuine jack of all trades, Taylor has years of dental experience that match her amazing customer service.She is an integral part of our team; her knowledge, leadership and willingness to go the extra mile are unparalleled. It is no wonder she is an amazing mother not just to boys but cats and dogs too!Her weekends are spent with family, barbecuing or making a new recipe from her cookbook collection.
