If youve always wanted to straighten your crooked teeth and make them look more attractive and youthful, you will be glad to hear that you have two different treatments available. On the one hand, traditional metal or enamel-colored ceramic braces bonded to the teeth or, on the other, removable clear braces (like Invisalign or 6 Months Smile). This last one is the most discreet way to get your smile back in line.

Invisalign is a modern method of straightening teeth without needing conventional braces. A set of clear plastic aligners are employed to generate tooth movement. Removable aligners have been around for some time. However, the computer program used to create different aligners with small changes is the new part. Invisalign is an advisable solution for orthodontic conditions with mild to moderate crowding or spacing. They are virtually undetectable, straightforward to use, and absolutely comfortable.

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a set of aligners that you will need to change about every two weeks. Trays are exclusively manufactured with exact calculations to shift your teeth into place gradually. Invisalign treatment is a custom-made method for a specific patient and teeth. To make it work, you and your dentist or orthodontist will design a treatment plan. By the end of the treatment, you know youll end up with a smile that truly stands out.

Our team at Baker Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Clearwater, Florida, describes dental implants as small titanium posts that are screwed into the jawbone. Implants are made of a biocompatible material, and their surface is treated so that it stimulates the deposit of new bone tissue in the area where they are placed. This physiological process, known as osseointegration, allows the implant to stay firm in its position throughout the years. Because of this characteristic, dental implants are considered the gold standard in tooth replacement treatments.

The ideal patient is the one that has enough quantity and quality of bone tissue in the area where the implant is going to be placed. Those patients who have been without one or more teeth for a long time should first have some tests done to see if they are suitable candidates. If the results are satisfactory, the dentist can proceed to plan the surgery. If not, he should determine if the situation can be solved with a bone grafting technique or if the patient is simply not a proper candidate.

Those patients who had lost an entire arch of teeth dont have many alternatives to recover their smile. Traditionally, it was either considering a full-mouth restoration with implants and bridges, which can be quite expensive, or a traditional full denture, which does not achieve the results most patients are looking for in functionality and aesthetics. However, at Baker Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, we are happy to introduce a third option, the implant-supported dentures, also known as snap-in dentures. Our dentist can place two or four implants along the arch to improve the dentures stability and retention. As a result, the patient obtains the best of both worlds: the comfort of dental implants and conventional full dentures affordability.

Dental implants are one of the best solutions to tooth loss, but they are not the only one. Patients can choose from other treatment alternatives as dental bridges or traditional full or partial dentures. However, these other alternatives wont have the same results in terms of general facial esthetics. No other treatment prevents bone resorption as dental implants do. So if patients decide to replace multiple missing teeth with bridges or dentures, they will certainly experience changes in the lower third of their faces. Wrinkles and fine lines will appear in the mouth area, the distance between the chin and the point of the nose will decrease, and the profile will look sunken. So patients who want to keep their youthful appearance should consider dental implants seriously. And if this option isnt within their possibilities, at least talk to their dentist as soon as the tooth is lost or removed to see which other alternative can meet their needs.

If properly maintained, dental implants can last a lifetime. However, this doesnt mean that implants cannot fail. The solid osseointegration of dental implants can be affected by the same bacteria that causes periodontal disease. One of the consequences of advanced periodontal disease is bone loss. If this process occurs near implants, it will eventually affect their foundation. Solving this kind of affection -if its possible- requires time and money, so all patients with dental implants must have perfect oral hygiene. For this purpose, apart from the personal routine, it is vital to visit the office at least twice a year. During these visits, our team provides a deep cleaning. At the same time, they evaluate the implant to see if theres any situation that might be putting the restoration at risk. With this early diagnosis, our team can interfere on time to prevent the failure of the implants.

Dental implants are small titanium posts that are screwed into the bone to replace the roots of one or more missing teeth. They are made of a biocompatible material, and their surface has a unique characteristic that triggers the formation of new bone tissue around the newly placed implant. This physiological process in which the implant is integrated into the jawbone is called osseointegration. Through this process, the bone tissue that is deposited around the implants keeps them firmly in their place, adding extra stability and strength. The osseointegration of the implants takes approximately six months. Once this process is finished, the dentist can complete the restorative treatment with the final crowns or bridges.

After a 4 year dental care hiatus I got my teeth cleaned by their dental hygienist and she left my teeth feeling smoother than a babies bottom. Her bedside (or dental chair) manners are exceptional. She constantly asked if I was in discomfort. Will definitely be returning for future cleanings.

I'm extremely squeamish especially when it comes to being touched by others and past history (very early years) of scary, creepy, mean dentists. My first visit with Dr. Baker was very kind and he took the time to answer my questions without making me feel stupid and didn't make me feel as if I didn't care about my dental health. For a long time I didn't have good or any dental coverage so I had to go to some really awful places and because the dental care was free, the dentist & staff treated me as if i didn't really matter and provided substandard care. Covid scared me away, and when my friend at SPC whom I told her about Dr. Baker some years back said she had an appointment I was like thinking I must be nuts! If anything, keeping a healthy mouth is just as important and now that I have endured breast cancer treatment and back surgery and doing well I might add I can only get better by getting back on track with my dental care. Yes a very long message, this is not my normal thing to do but I just felt the need to write it. These past 5 years have been extremely challenging health-wise for me. Although initially I was a bit nervous, Michael who provided my dental service was very professional and not rough when cleaning my teeth. I appreciate that he took the time to explain everything he was doing, didn't make me feel embarrassed for cleaning 2 years of yuck (uggh!!) out of my mouth. A bit heavy on the water but i agree it made for a better clean (smile). I hope that he will be the one to clean my teeth at the next appointment. Thank you Dr. Baker and staff, take care.

Everything was good as far as treatment of my teeth and politeness of staff. The only thing that bothers me is that the Dentist didn't keep his word as far as my tooth replacement date.He originally told me my tooth will be installed the next visit and then when I came in he said three more weeks.Aside from that everything was okay.

Terrible customer support. We've been with them for 4 years because we lived in the neighborhood. When I retired I confirmed they still took Humana, I knew my co-pay would be a little different. My husband and daughter went in for an annual exam, the co-pay was around $400 after work was completed. They failed to inform us first before the work and would not work with us for payment options afterwards. We were paying little by little but their solution was to send us to collections. That's how they treat their veterans. Do not go to them! Happy Memorial Day. Reply- Whoever replied to my feedback has been uneducated please refer to your billing. We paid my daughter's portion in full at time of service and to my husband bill we paid two of the 5 invoice sent, called to inform on numerous occasions of the intentions "not ignored". Cannot be held responsible if you have unqualified phone technicians that are uncapable of making the proper notations in the computer system. BTW bill was paid in full as previously promised we would. Terrible Terrible service to our military and veterans, you should be ashamed.
