Dr.Shaun Kern is a distinguished board certified dentist with more than 20 years of experience in the dental field. He is the owner of Azalea City Dental and specializes in cosmetic dentistry for the whole family.
Dr.Kern graduated from Davidson High School in Mobile and later earned his bachelors degree from Birmingham Southern College. Following that, he attended The University of Alabama School of Denistry. He is licensed in the state of Alabama and is a member of the Mobile Area Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Denistry. Dr.Kern has pursued advanced training in his field including an implant mini residency in Yorda Linda, California, The Spears Mastership Program in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as many other continuing education courses throughout the country.
In 2007, Dr.Kern moved his growing family from Mobile to Spanish Fort and feels blessed to practice dentistry on the eastern shore. He and his wife, Holly have been happily married since 2003. They have a son, Madden and a daughter, Graceyn who attend Spanish Fort Middle School and Rockwell Elementary School. Dr. Kern and his family attend City Hope Church. In addition to enjoying spending time with his family, Dr.Kern is an avid college football fan and outdoorsman. He particularly likes to boat and fish, both inshore and offshore.
Dr. Lovell graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1974. After graduation, Dr. Lovell entered the U. S. Navy Dental Corps. He then was in private practice in West Virginia from 1976-2003.
In 2008, Dr. Lovell was appointed to the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners as a consultant examiner. He remains involved with the testing agency. He began teaching in the Restorative Dentistry Department at West Virginia University in 2003 and left in 2016 as an Associate Professor.
Dr. Lovell has trained at some of the finest dental institutions in the country and offers a broad range of advanced skills. His background includes technical training designing comfortable and natural dentures, replacing missing teeth with innovative techniques, and correcting problems involving the jaw and bite.
His wife Kathy and he moved to Spanish Fort in February of 2016 when he joined the dental team at Azalea City Dental. The South has always been in Dr. Lovell's plans. With his familiarity of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores area, Spanish Fort was a perfect choice to call home. Dr. Lovell is very close with his family: his daughter and her family live in Brewton, and his son lives in Paducah, Kentucky.

Absolutely the best dental team from the front office staff to the hygienists to Dr. Kern. They care and the are great for those of us who had bad experiences at other dental offices. Highly recommend Azalea City Dental.

Front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. Had my teeth cleaned by Brittnye and was the best ever. Had things explained to me that never had been before. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Kearn and his staff!!

Form the time you check in with the front office team until you finish with the doctor, Azalea City Dental is first class! The entire staff is very professional and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Cheryl is awesome as a my hygienist as she always has a smile and continually asks how I am doing during the visit. Dr Kern is thorough and offers up options for any issues I have had in my dental history. I would highly recommend Azalea City dental.

Great experience with Dr. Lovell! Exemplary competent professional. New crown, minimal discomfort, reasonable cost, along with very good front office staff. They will remind you of what/how a doctors' front office SHOULD be! He came highly recommended by my son and I'd recommend them too.

Was not happy with my first few experiences but gave them the benefit of the doubt because of covid, recently called back for a price on a procedure I needed done and couldn't have done because of covid, was told the next appointment was over 2 months away and when I said I may look around for another dentist the receptionist Tracey said "that's great" and hung up on me. Very rude and unprofessional. Definitely finding a new dentist. You all may need a new receptionist as well.
